- Kim Wozencraft has authored six novels, including the recently released title Neglect, from Arcade/Simon and Schuster, and the internationally bestselling Rush, adapted into a film starring Jennifer Jason Leigh. She co-edited the book Slam, a companion edition to the award-winning film, was executive editor at Prison Life magazine, and has written for HBO Films. Her work has appeared in The Best American Essays, Texas Monthly, New York Newsday, the Los Angeles Times, and numerous literary magazines and anthologies. Wozencraft holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University and teaches English literature and creative writing at SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Ulster. - Kim Wozencraft is a former undercover narcotics agent. She and her partner's exploits while employed by the Tyler, Texas Police Department are the inspiration behind her book, "Rush". Both Kim and her partner were eventually convicted of Federal civil rights crimes for making false drug cases against a number of people in Tyler. Both spent time in federal prison. Prior to going to prison in 1982, she and her partner (Craig Matthews) were married. This story was presented as a segment on ABC TV's 20/20, with Tom Jarrell, which aired in January of 1982.
