Peter Krasinski, a prominent figure in the realm of silent movies and photoplay presentations, is widely recognized as the foremost advocate for improvised, live accompaniments for classic photoplays. Alongside his accomplishments as an esteemed cast member of the Academy Award-nominated motion picture The Holdovers (2023), Mr. Krasinski is revered as a music teacher, educator, performer, and conductor. Acting has always been intertwined with Mr. Krasinski's multifaceted talents. During his years at Quincy High School in Massachusetts, he was a regular participant in productions, earning acclaim such as the Best Actor award for his leading role in "The Gift." He also showcased his versatility by participating in numerous musicals as both an orchestra member and on stage. As a faculty member of a number of public and private institutions, he assumed the role of Music Director for both middle and upper school productions, overseeing a repertoire ranging from "The Sound of Music" to "Dreamgirls," "Rent," "Jekyll and Hyde," and "Into the Woods," among others.
His journey in screen work includes appearances as an extra in The Witches of Eastwick (1987), various television shows, and advertisements. He provided his residence as a set location for the filming of American Hustle (2013), starring Bradley Cooper.
In 2022, he seized the opportunity for a credited role as Choir Leader in The Holdovers (2023). Vintage photoplays are central to his career. He has performed the art of live solo film accompaniment in prestigious venues worldwide, where he delivers unique improvised compositions created in real-time on auspicious instruments. He has captivated audiences across North America, Europe, and Asia and has made seven tours of Japan. A multiple prize-winner, he is the recipient of the First Prize in Improvisation from the American Guild of Organists National Competition.
