Novak Djokovic's family has issued the promised statement about his Belgrade-based Tennis Center Novak which was returned to the city of Belgrade.
The Tennis Center Novak in Belgrade was built and owned by Novak Djokovic and his family however, they no longer own the land and facilities. Reports about the tennis complex being returned to the city of Belgrade shocked many with Serbian media asking Djokovic to comment.
He refused to comment during the Italian Open press conferences promising to release a statement on the matter explaining what the decision was made. The official statement has been released by the Djokovic's family since and it reads:
The company Tara 2016 S, owned by Novak and Jelena Djokovic, made a decision to return the land and facilities within the Tennis Center Novak in Dorcol to the City of Belgrade. We considered it for a long time and made the not-so-easy decision...
