The Forsyte Saga is returning to PBS and Masterpiece. The network has ordered a new series based on John Galsworthy's novels. A previous adaptation of the book series, starring Damian Lewis, Rupert Graves, Gina McKee, Corin Redgrave, and Ioan Gruffudd, aired on PBS in 2002 and ran for two seasons and 10 episodes. This new reimagining is being set up to have multiple seasons.
Francesca Annis, Jack Davenport, Tom Durant Pritchard, Jamie Flatters, Millie Gibson, Danny Griffin, Susan Hampshire, Owen Igiehon, Tuppence Middleton, Stephen Moyer, Joshua Orpin, Josette Simon, and Eleanor Tomlinson will star in this new telling of the Galworth’s work. "June is on the case!" Shout Studios has unveiled a trailer for the indie comedy titled Drugstore June, made by filmmaker Nicholaus Goossen, along with actress Esther Povitsky co-writing the script. It's set to open in limited theaters (NY & LA) starting in February. Described as “it's small, funny, and lands smack in the middle of a favorite genre: off-center charmer turns world upside down." Starring Esther Povitsky as the titular June, joined by Beverly D'Angelo, James Remar, Haley Joel Osment, Jackie Sandler, Miranda Cosgrove, Danny Griffin, Brandon Wardell, Bobby Lee, Matt Walsh. Netflix officially pulled the plug on Fate: The Winx Saga after two seasons earlier this week.
However, the franchise may not be dead yet.
Winx franchise creator Iginio Straffi revealed this week that the Netflix cancellation "is for a bigger reason."
“Fate has been an exciting adventure, a great achievement, and a hit watched by millions globally, re-confirming the power of the Winx world,” Straffi shared on Instagram.
“I am working on many exciting Winx projects in the near future, some of which I take so much joy in sharing with you.”
One of those projects is a "brand new CG Winx animated series reboot," which is set to go into production soon.
The creator promises the show will "sweep you back to the Winx world."
If that wasn't enough Winx goodness, Straffi said that a "big budget Winx movie" is in the works.

For better or worse, Hollywood's nostalgia-mining tendencies come for us all. For fans of the Nickelodeon animated series "Winx Club," this was both a blessing and a curse: when the Netflix adaptation "Fate: The Winx Saga" arrived in 2021, it brought the beloved faeries back to screens. But it also received a very mixed reception.
Like so many of the gritty live-action adaptations being forced down our throats, "Fate: The Winx Saga" was after an entirely new audience. Rather than emulating the source material, this series targets older teens, shedding colorful whimsy for a dark fantasy aesthetic. Between the entirely new vibe and the many altered/missing characters, not all fans were pleased when the series first arrived. But this September, the sophomore season brought along some reason for hope. With its second outing, "Fate: The Winx Saga" seemed to incorporate much of that fan feedback — adding in some sorely missed...

It's the end of the line for Fate: The Winx Saga on Netflix.
According to showrunner Brian Young, the supernatural drama series has been canceled after two seasons.
"This is not fun news to share, but Netflix have decided not to move forward with Season Three of Fate: The Winx Saga," Young said on Instagram.
"This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season."
"It's a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same," the statement continues.
"I'm so proud of everyone who worked on the show, and so happy we got to tell the stories we did."
"Our cast and crew put in a ton of hard work creating this world and these characters," Young adds.
"I'm grateful for each and everyone one of them, and for all of you for watching."

“Fate: The Winx Saga” Season 2 brought more danger for the teenage fairies at The Alfea School of magic, as they faced one of the strongest villains they’ve come across – Sebastian.

Bloom (Abigail Cowen), Terra (Eliot Salt), Stella (Hannah van der Westhuysen) and Aisha (Precious Mustapha) had to combine their power to defeat Sebastian, whose goal this season was to get Bloom’s dragon flame for himself. When Abigail Cowen first read the script for Netflix’s “Fate: The Winx Saga,” she knew it was special. The show involved teenage fairies, attending a private boarding school. But while the series had that magic supernatural twist, its group of high schoolers had relatable insecurities and struggles with growing up and finding who you are.
“I was like, ‘This is actually kind of synonymous with embracing what makes you different, and really finding the love in that,’” Cowen said when we sat down with her for an exclusive TheWrap Studio photoshoot and interview. “And when you do embrace what makes you different, then your magic flourishes.”
For Cowen, she began exploring her own special power – as an actor – as a youngster growing up in Florida. Her earliest professional acting jobs came out of the scene in Orlando, including a commercial at just 12 years old that put her over the...

Bloom Peters is just about done with restraining herself and her powers — and her friends are more than happy to help her out along the way. In a new trailer for Netflix’s Season 2 of “Fate: The Winx Saga,” the fairies are more powerful — and perhaps more reckless — than ever.
Of course, there are changes happening this season. As the trailer ominously warns: “The old regime is gone. It’s time to embrace the new one.” That new one is led by Headmistress Rosalind, who rules over the school with an iron fist. But apparently, she was also “working on some super mysterious s—.” As a result, fairies from Alfea are starting to go missing.

This article contains spoilers for Fate: The Winx Saga season 1.
Fate: The Winx Saga is Netflix’s latest foray into magical adolescence and season one is a six-hour introduction to the fairy boarding school Alfea, and the magical Otherworld. The series introduces us to a powerful fairy, Bloom (Abigail Cowen), who was raised in the human world completely unaware of her own magic or the larger magical community. She comes to Alfea to learn to control her power and to discover who she is.
We follow Bloom’s journey of self-discovery and self-empowerment as the requisite “chosen one”, and learn about this magical world through her eyes. As she discovers more about herself, she also uncovers secrets that could threaten Alfea and her safety within it. The season culminates in a coup of sorts, that sees Alfea’s leadership completely upended, which opens the door for really compelling storytelling in a follow-up season.

It’s the show that everyone is talking about, sitting pretty at the top of Netflix’s most popular this week. So needless to say we were thrilled to take part in the virtual junket, as we spoke to all leading cast-members. Chatting to Abigail Cowen and Danny Griffin, with the former discussing what it was like being the one American, and what she learnt from her co-stars, as well as Hannah van der Westhuysen and Elisha Applebaum as they talk about how overwhelming and surreal this whole experience has been. Finally we spoke to Precious Mustapha and Eliot Salt, as we attempt to dig deep into the cast and seek to find out as much as we can about this new band of young performers taking the nation by storm.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers through the Season 1 finale of “Fate: The Winx Saga.”)
In the Season 1 finale of Netflix’s “Fate: The Winx Saga,” a live-action adaptation of the Italian cartoon “Winx Club,” fire fairy Bloom (played by Abigail Cowen) goes through a metamorphosis that allows her to defeat the army of Burned Ones threatening her magical boarding school.
Bloom — who thought she was a regular human teen up until a flaming accident at home led to her admission into Alfea — goes into full-on fire fairy mode, fiery wings and all, to shoot out burning blasts at the evil creatures.
It’s in this moment, after our six-episode journey with the “changeling” who was placed with a human family at birth, that viewers learn just how powerful Bloom really is — and when she herself learns, too.
“The whole reason that Bloom was put into the Firstworld was because she...

Halfway through the first episode of “Fate: The Winx Saga,” I realized exactly why it felt so familiar.
The new Netflix series follows Bloom (Abigail Cowen), a bright-eyed, redheaded American fairy with a mysterious past who enrolls at Alfea, a legendary fairy school in an undisclosed magical location (though everyone else’s British accents provide a hint). She’s beautiful and spunky, a combination that immediately catches the attention of Sky (Danny Griffin), who’s both the most popular boy in school and the recent ex-boyfriend of her jealous suitemate, Stella (Hannah van der Westhuysen). Unlike her peers, Bloom only recently found out about her powers when she lost control and set her family’s house ablaze. Still, her teachers quietly agree that she has incredible potential like no one else at the school, a fact borne out once Bloom embraces her powers instead of running away from them. Once...

This Fate: The Winx Saga is based on all six episodes and contains no spoilers.
Fate: The Winx Saga, the newest YA fantasy effort from Netflix, is the live-action remake of an animated series that takes the story and pitches it at an older age group. There’s a magic school surrounded by gorgeous landscapes (courtesy of filming locations in Ireland), a group of students trying to uncover a conspiracy protected by the teachers, and more than a couple of secrets about the origins of our main character.
If that sounds familiar, that’s because it is. The 6-episode series borrows liberally from its predecessors, but none more so than J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. Now, while many of us would welcome a new iteration of those particular ideas, the homage it pays (the first episode contains a scene in which two characters share what Hogwarts house they’d be...

We are just days away from the highly-anticipated debut of Netflix's adaptation of Fate: The Winx Saga.
The series is adapted from the Italian animated series Winx Club, which aired for four seasons (2004–2009) before nabbing a revival at Nickelodeon for four more (2011–2019).
This live-action iteration chronicles the “coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.”
The trailer certainly shows off how the show is set up, and it looks like the lovechild of Legacies and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which is funny because it features a cast member from the latter.
The good news is that the series will be a quick binge, spanning six episodes in its opening season, and there is scope for it to continue.
