As far as individual authors go, Stephen King is certainly in the top of the list of authors whose works have been adapted. He is right there with Agatha Christie, Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle, and other authors whose works have been adapted often and in many forms. But unlike the aforementioned authors, King’s adaptations are usually original, while the other authors have seen their works adapted and remade more than once. In light of that fact, we can confirm that King’s story, “The Monkey,” had been adapted into a film this spring and the movie was presented to buyers at Cannes this year!
Knowing how popular King’s adaptations are, it was a sure thing that someone would buy the movie, and as it happens, Neon managed to nab the distribution rights for the upcoming movie and they have confirmed that a 2025 release date is currently planned.

Stars Collective describes the new horror franchise as being based on female ghost stories inspired by Asian folklore. In the yet-to-be-titled first film, a bullied high school orphan (Chicha) must confront a twisted tale of love and revenge when she stumbles upon a mysterious katana haunted by a vengeful geisha spirit. Clay McLeod Chapman's What Kind Of Mother: "Since making his horror debut with The Remaking in 2019 and its follow-up Whisper Down the Lane in 2020, Clay McLeod Chapman has become known as “one of horror’s modern masters,” and “the real deal” when it comes to “high-grade horror”. In 2022, he cemented this reputation with his “legitimately terrifying” third novel Ghost Eaters, a “thoughtful and smart (if grim) exploration of how addiction destroys lives,” that “should make Clay McLeod Chapman a star,” (Vulture). Now, Chapman returns with What Kind of Mother, an unyielding blend of domestic suspense and supernatural horror that results in a visceral exploration of parental grief.

Anton Du Beke has explained why he voted to save Will Mellor over Fleur East in the Strictly Come Dancing semi-final.
After a high-scoring semi-final on Sunday (11 December) night, East and partner Vito Coppola found themselves in the bottom two with Mellor and Nancy Xu.
After the couples performed again, both Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse voted for East. But when the vote came to Du Beke, the former pro dancer said that East and Coppola had made “an error in a dismount from a lift”, and he wanted Mellor to go through.
The casting vote was then given to head judge Shirley Ballas, who voted for East and Coppola, and sent Mellor and Xu home.
However, on social media, many viewers suggested that the judges had made the wrong decision and that Du Beke was correct to take into account East’s mistake.

Strictly Come Dancing star Carlos Gu was unable to hold back his tears after Molly Rainford made it through to the final without facing the last dance-off.
Despite being one of the highest marked stars of the series, the Cbbc star has found herself in the bottom two four times so far in the competition.
Going into Sunday (11 December) night’s semifinal, Rainford was the bookies’ favourite to be eliminated before the final.
However, the couple topped the leaderboard, leading to Rainford and Gu being the first couple announced to have made it through to the final during Monday (12 December) night’s results show.
They were joined by Hamza Yassin and his partner Jowita PrzystaÅ., and Helen Skelton and Gorka Márquez.
Fleur East and Vito Coppola competed in their fourth dance-off of the series against first-timers Will Mellor and partner Nancy Xu.

A Strictly Come Dancing contestant has been eliminated from the show just one week before the final.
On Sunday (11 December), the remaining celebrities performed two dances in the hopes of scoring a place in next week’s final.
Sadly, actor Will Mellor fell at the final hurdle and became the 11th person to be voted off this year’s series.
Mellor was in the dance off with singer and radio presenter Fleur East. Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse opted to save East, but when Anton Du Beke saved Mellor, it was down to head judge Shirley Ballas to cast the deciding vote.
“First of all, the British public has spoken and with respect I take that on board,” Ballas said. “My fellow judges have decided that they don’t agree, so I have made lots of notes here. Both couples were outstanding and, not only today, but through the series.

Will Mellor was very emotional on the latest episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
On Saturday night’s episode of the show (12 November), the actor danced the Waltz with his professional partner Nancy Xu to the song “Three Times a Lady”.
He chose the track because his late father used to sing it to his mother.
In the introduction before the dance, Mellor was shown on a video call with his mother, saying he wanted to use the dance to “pay my respects to my dad”.
Mellor’s father, Bill, died in 2020, just two weeks after being diagnosed with cancer.
Due to social distancing guidelines in place during 2020, Mellor was unable to comfort his close family in person.
After the Waltz, which earned 38 points from the judges, Mellor was very tearful and unable to speak. He did address the camera at one point to tell his children watching at home that...

Strictly Come Dancing is back on our screens, with a new batch of contestants learning the art of ballroom dancing for the first time.
The BBC competition series returned on Saturday (24 September), with 15 celebrities hitting the dance floor with their pro partners for the first time.
It was a night of varying dance abilities, with Will Mellor and Hamza Yassin sharing the top spot on the leaderboard with an impressive 34 out of 40 marks each.
Tony Adams, meanwhile, is currently at the bottom end with just 15 poionts for his Arsenal-themed tango.
However, everything could still change during Saturday (1 October) night’s show, as the scores from last week will be added to the marks gained by the contestants for their second dances.
The new leaderboard will then be combined with the public votes, with the bottom two couples facing the dreaded dance off and the first couple leaving the competition.
