Aquaman star Jason Momoa swaps a trident for silk pyjamas as he joins the list of celebrities reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story.
Jason Momoa is following in the footsteps of Tom Hardy and joins the growing roster of celebrity readers for CBeebies Bedtime Stories. Momoa will be appearing on TV screens across the UK in black silk pyjamas and reading Tiddler by Julia Donaldson to the kiddos – and probably a few parents, too.
“One of my favourite books that I read to my children as they were growing up was The Gruffalo, so I am very happy to read another amazing story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler for a CBeebies Bedtime Story,” Momoa said of his stint on the popular children’s programme.

Kate Winslet is the latest celebrity slated to appear on BBC children’s channel CBeebies’ “Bedtime Stories” over the Christmas and New Year period.
Winslet made headlines recently for her scene in the upcoming “Avatar” sequel, where she holds her breath underwater for a record breaking seven minutes and 15 seconds.
Her episode will be broadcast on Dec. 19, where she will be reading Sarah McIntyre’s “Grumpycorn,” a story about a unicorn with writer’s block, and how his underwater friends help him overcome it.
The “Bedtime Stories” Christmas lineup also includes former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, actor Richard E. Grant, Paralympian Lora Fachie, French pop sensation Christine and the Queens and CBeebies veteran Justin Fletcher.
Joshua will be reading the 1962 book “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats on Dec. 22. “The Snowy Day” features one of the earliest Black protagonists in a major children’s book.

Ahead of the big-screen CBeebies Christmas panto – and a new Shaun the Sheep TV special – we need your questions for the kingpin of British children’s TV
Take your finger and touch your keyboard, think three times and off you go … We need your questions for the UK supremo of children’s television, Justin Fletcher.
Fletcher, 51, generally has at least three different shows on each day as linchpins of the CBeebies schedule: Justin’s House, which has lately returned for a new series in the breakfast spot, and Something Special, now on its 12th series (and nearly 20th year).

Since he first emerged in 1995 with a bit part in Wallace and Grommit film A Close Shave, Shaun The Sheep has gone on to become the franchise's breakout star, with no fewer than five series of his adventures broadcast in 180 countries around the world. His Shaun The Sheep Movie in 2015 was a popular hit and won him his first Oscar nomination. This film has occasioned his second. This is a big success for a small sheep, but in this film, Shaun has his sights set even higher. Never mind international stardom - he's ready to go interplanetary.
A long way now from the simple world of cheese enthusiasts and knitting machines, Shaun - voiced here by Justin Fletcher - has to stretch his animated acting talents to effect surprise when something comes crashing down out of the sky into Mossy Bottom Farm. The other animals are frightened...

Woolly hero Shaun the Sheep has bleated through many an adventure over several seasons of his own TV series and an Oscar-nominated film, so finding a new, large-canvas escapade for one of Nick Park’s most cherished creations meant searching beyond the confines of Mossy Bottom Farm, or even the planet, and into outer space.
Hopping back onto the big screen, the ovine movie star has a close encounter of the third kind in “A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon,” a quick-witted and uproarious homage to the sci-fi genre like only the stop-motion geniuses at Aardman Animations could imagine and handcraft.
Everyday sheep-nanigans for Shaun (voiced by bah expert Justin Fletcher) and the flock — including but not limited to pulling wild stunts that upset strict sheep dog Bitzer (John Sparkes provides the barks and grunts) — take a turn for the extraterrestrial when a spaceship lands nearby and a UFO craze possesses locals and tourists.

Ambling onto screens with a wiggle and a shake of its gingerbread bottom for this weekend only, the CBeebies Christmas Show: Hansel & Gretel is a gentle and festive outing for very little ones.
Bookended by a wander through the woods with the broad, recognisable smile and safe hands of Justin Fletcher, the majority of this feature takes place at a live recording of this year’s CBeebies panto filmed at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre. With shots of the stage and audience to establish location and atmosphere before the Pov settles down to primarily watch from a few rows back, CBeebies’ take on Hansel & Gretel offers a nice (and ever-reliable way) way to introduce the art form to younger audiences.
With Mr Bloom conspicuous by his absence (sorry mums) the first friendly faces to greet young fans are Andy Day as Truffle and Maddie Moate as Willow, a pair of very enthusiastic trees.

"Get ready for a close encounter of the herd kind." Studiocanal has released a third official UK trailer for A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, the latest comedy sequel from stop-motion studio Aardman Animations. This third trailer follows the first teaser trailer last year, and the other full-length UK trailer from earlier this year. It's a sequel to the surprisingly successful first Shaun the Sheep, originally released in 2015. When an intergalactic visitor – an impish and adorable alien called Lu-La – crash-lands near Mossy Bottom Farm, Shaun soon sees an opportunity for alien-powered fun and adventure and sets off on a mission to shepherd Lu-La home. The small voice cast includes Justin Fletcher and John Sparkes. This looks like good fun and the more they show from this, the better it looks. Plus it's Aardman! And no matter what I always enjoy seeing more stop-motion animated films. I'm sure this will connect with children,...

"She's a little mischievous... She's a little curious... But above all, she's a little lost." Studiocanal has debuted the full-length official UK trailer for A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, the latest comedy from stop-motion studio Aardman Animations. The first teaser trailer hit last year, but this new trailer is much better. It's a sequel to the surprisingly successful first Shaun the Sheep, originally released in 2015. This looks amusing and crazy, of course, but I thought they would actually be going up into space but it's mostly set entirely on Earth again.

This is a sequel to the surprisingly successful first Shaun the Sheep Movie, released in 2015, and this time the sheep are heading to space! Seriously. "It’s close encounters of the herd kind in Shaun’s new out of this world movie." The voice cast includes Justin Fletcher and John Sparkes. This is a simple teaser without much, but it's amusing and a good way to re-introduce the characters. Worth a watch to liven your day with some Aardman humor. Read More: 2016 Oscar Predictions: Best Animated Feature Every herd needs a leader -- especially literal herds of domesticated animals. Aardman Animations' newest creation, Shaun the Sheep (voiced by Justin Fletcher), is not only a bonafide television star (he's starred in 130 episodes of his own television show, as crafted by the stop-motion animation house), but he's now poised to make the leap to film as the star of "Shaun the Sheep Movie." Shaun's bit is that he's the smart one in a lovably goofy herd of English sheep, mostly happy animals who spend their days doing typical sheep things -- lots of eating and bleating -- while their caring Farmer (voiced by John Sparkes) keeps them all in line through the use of a highly coordinated schedule, as assisted by faithful sheepdog Bitzer (also voiced by Sparkes). It's an idyllic life, but that schedule is a problem, and when Shaun...

Charming in that gloriously detailed Aardman way, but with its simple slapstick humor, it’s strictly for the littlest tykes. I’m “biast” (pro): love Aardman cartoons
I’m “biast” (con): nothing

I love Aardman’s lovingly handcrafted stop-motion claytoons, but I never had any interest in their TV series Shaun the Sheep — spun out of the Wallace & Gromit short “A Close Shave” — and I see now that I wasn’t really missing anything. The first big-screen outing for Shaun and his barnyard friends is charming in that gloriously detailed Aardman way — down to the airplane contrails in the sky above and the visible fingerprints of the animators in the clay — but it’s strictly for the littlest tykes. After a cameo appearance alongside Wallace and Gromit in A Close Shave, Shaun the Sheep found his way to the small screen for a Cbbc spinoff in 2007 and he's been quietly delivering the goods there ever since. The TV show plays out the characters' adventures in bite-size 7-minute instalments, but Aardman has now extended the concept to feature-length running time for Shaun the Sheep The Movie.
Though this might sound like stretching an idea thin, directors Mark Burton and Richard Starzack make it all work fantastically well, crafting a stop-motion animation packed with an abundance of wit, charm and invention.

Dig past the litterfall of Kray Brothers biopics and tales of nubile teens on camping trips gone wrong, and you’ll unearth plenty for the UK film industry to boast about in 2015. From sci-fi romps and thrillers like Robot Overlords and Ex Machina to dramas like High-Rise, comedies like War On Everyone, spy flicks like Spectre and kids’ films like Bill, there’s no shortage of inventive, highly promising cinema coming from these isles.
We’ve included a few choice co-productions in 2015’s pick of the year’s most interesting-looking pictures, which bolsters our list in both size and breadth (and mostly means we Brits can claim partial credit for ace-sounding dystopian flick The Lobster).
In alphabetical order then, here are the 36 UK (or UK-ish) movies we’re excited about seeing this year…...

Next year’s full to bursting with potentially brilliant geek films, so to help, here’s our pick of 25 must-see movies out in 2015…
Compiling a list of next year's most exciting films is extremely difficult. What do you put in? What do you leave out? Those are some of the questions we've had to ask ourselves as we drew up the long-list of our most anticipated films of 2015. In an attempt to limit the number of sequels which can fill up a list such as this, we've left out something like Fast & Furious 7, even though we're fairly sure it'll be a lot of fun. With but two significant exceptions, we've excluded some of the films we were looking forward to this year that have been delayed until the next, such as Kingsman: The Secret Service and Frankenstein.
What we're left with, we hope, is a fairly broad selection of action and comedy,...

Who’s that? What did she just say? Wait, he’s English? Here are the things we don’t admit when watching acclaimed TV shows…
Omission makes the world go round. Without the art of keeping things to ourselves, most social interactions would disintegrate within seconds. Too much soul-baring honesty would snap the taut bonds that keep us all from running screaming through the Toby Carvery of a Sunday lunchtime jabbing family members with corn-on-the-cob prongs. We’re a tightly wound, insular people, the British. It takes court injunctions and Jeremy Kyle to prise loose our secrets.
Every so often though, it does us good to share. It’s cathartic to confess, between friends, that we’re sometimes a little bit lacking or dim. In the spirit of honesty and self-improvement then, here are the things we’d rather not admit to...

From Adventure Time to Old Jack's Boat, James and Glen talk us through ten modern kids' TV shows that geek parents can enjoy too...
“Urgh, I’m so hungover. I’m going to sit in my pants and watch movies all day”
So invariably goes at least one entry on my Twitter feed every Saturday or Sunday morning. Yes, lying about all day watching TV is great but nine times out of ten when someone writes something like this, I can guarantee that they don’t have kids. For those of us with small children, the television we regularly watch throughout the day comes from a vastly different landscape. To the childless, names such as Makka Pakka, Tree Fu Tom and Yo Jo Jo may mean very little. To some us though they’ve become household names, as our lives are filled...

"Presenting the British Academy Children's Awards is a way for me to say thank you to children's TV for the career it has given me, and I can't wait," said Humphrey.
"We all remember the shows we watched as children; for me it was Pigeon Street, Knightmare, and Live & Kicking. The fact these memories are so strong 25 years later is a reminder of the deep impact...

The Christmas countdown has officially started, folks. Advent calendars all around the world are being raided for their wares, shopping requires full body armour protection and the festive fiestas are already in full swing. First up I was privileged to attend and present an award at the annual Children's BAFTAs in London's Hilton Park Lane - the date in the Showbiz calendar for all those involved in the making of our kids' favourite TV shows. Yes my friends, Peppa Pig (Ok, well the voice of, Harley Bird), Justin 'Mr Tumble' Fletcher and an assortment of popstars and Olympians were there to ensure the annual bash was as unforgettable as ever. Sandwiched on a table between Young Ones legend Nigel Planer, Caitlin Moran and Alesha Dixon, it was certainly a night for laughs and entertainment too. Filing into the vast ballroom for the beginning of the night's (more)...

Several of our writers at HeyUGuys, including our two editors, have young children, and therefore a legitimate excuse to watch Children’s TV. I, on the other hand, don’t. On the other hand, I am barely employed (and barely employable), so am far better versed in the ins-and-outs of children’s TV than I have any right to be. Consequently, when I was asked to head to the Park Lane Hilton to film my far more respectable colleague Paris Davis as she interviewed the arrivals on the red carpet, I leapt at the chance. After all, it’s not every day I get to be in the same room as Dick and Dom, Mr Tumble and Helen Skelton. Certainly not all at once.
Of course, it wasn’t just children’s TV presenters, and during the course of the night we spoke to Simon Farnaby, Bunny and the Bull...

British actress Kara Tointon was one of a number of stars who helped raise £100,000 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation in the UK last weekend.
More than 300 guests attended the12th annual Make-a-Wish Summer Ball at the spectacular Blenheim Palace last Saturday, including actor Robert Powell, CBeebies’ Mr Tumble, Justin Fletcher MBE, singer Dionne Bromfield, ‘Secret Millionaire’ Caroline Marsh and Michelle Dewberry, winner of ‘The Apprentice’.
Guests were treated to a champagne reception in the Great Hall with its hand-painted murals and intricate tapestries before dinner was served in a special marquee in the palace grounds.
