Since 1982 admitted to the bar at the Mainz Regional Court and the Koblenz Higher Regional Court; 1984 to 2001 lecturer at the Bundeswehr Technical School in Mainz.
Member of the German Bar Association, the German Association of Women Lawyers, the German Red Cross (DRK), the Kolping Society and the Catholic German Women's Association.
Joined the CDU in 1972, local councilor in Klein-Winternheim since 1984, local mayor since 1990; member of the Mainz-Bingen district council since 1994; 1996 to October 2002 member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, among other things. Legal advisor for the CDU parliamentary group.
