Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter is finally arriving in cinemas soon after several delays and uncertainties. Director J.C. Chandor once had a very interesting opinion about helming superhero movies that took a surprising turn years after.

Like other filmmakers, Chandor expressed his thoughts on the popularity of streaming platforms and the decline of the theater business. Interestingly, he thinks that Netflix will be bringing back the classic two-hour films in its library rather than focusing on series with several episodes.

Taylor Sheridan may be one of the greatest writer-cum-directors in Hollywood’s entire entertainment industry, but it’s not always that he gets to have his way with his projects.
In fact, if anything, one of the biggest issues on which he has often locked horns with marketers is on the titles his projects are gonna be known by at the end of the day.

That being said, his request was even refused when he asked for his film to be renamed as per his choice as opposed to what it came to be known as, which was Sicario: Day of the Soldado.
But it seems that those days just might change for Sheridan now, especially after all the fame he has acquired through his genius helming of the masterpiece smash-hit series Yellowstone.

The Crow: Brandon Lee’s stand-in Chad Stahelski supports the casting of Bill Skarsgard in the remake
Stuntman Chad Stahelski was close friends with actor Brandon Lee… and when Lee was killed in a tragic accident on the set of the 1994 version of The Crow, director Alex Proyas chose Stahelski to be Lee’s stand-in for the filming of scenes that still needed to be filmed involving Lee’s character Eric Draven. Lee’s face was then placed over Stahelski’s in post-production. Stahelski has gone on to become a director, taking the helm of each film in the John Wick franchise to date… and since he worked with Bill Skarsgard on John Wick: Chapter 4, it’s no surprise to hear that he supports the casting of Skarsgard in The Crow remake, which is set to reach theatres on August 23rd.
Commenting on Skarsgard’s performance in John Wick: Chapter 4, Stahelski told Esquire, “I think he’s my best villain ever.” As for his casting in The Crow,...

A certain character and the energy they evoke on screen seem to be calling to certain performers. As for Aemond Targaryen in House of the Dragon, well, there isn’t a greater performer than Ewan Mitchell who can portray the role. He distinguishes himself from the others in the role by bringing a dark edge. However, it seems like he’ll lose a bit of that edge in Season 2.
Aemond won’t be as dark in House of the Dragon Season 2
Aemond Targaryen is known to be stoic and stern, a fearsome warrior who gets what he wants. He is the reason why the civil war kicks off. In an interview with Esquire magazine, Mitchell revealed his character will see a change in season 2. He said, “In the last three episodes of season 1, I presented a character that was entirely black. In season 2, I can’t wait to turn him gray.

While his scripts and movies perfectly speak for just how brilliant he is, Taylor Sheridan’s excellence doesn’t stop there.
Though his ingeniously developed storylines and character arcs are one thing, what further sets him apart from nearly all the other mastermind legendary filmmakers and showrunners in Hollywood’s entire entertainment industry are his immaculate convincing skills.

Filmmaker Steven Spielberg has helmed many iconic films of the generation. He is the man behind films such as the Indiana Jones franchise, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, and Schindler’s List. The two-time Oscar nominee has also been vocal about his favorite films and has always considered himself to be a lover of cinema first.
The director has appreciated others’ cinema on multiple occasions. He called Tom Cruise the savior of cinema for his contributions to the theater industry during the pandemic. One film that Spielberg loved, but was still disturbed by, was reportedly Taylor Sheridan’s directorial debut Wind River, which he reportedly saw after its screening at the Cannes Film Festival.

F.W. Murnau’s Nosferatu is considered to be a classic of Expressionist cinema and one of the most important movies in history. The movie was released back in 1922 and featured Max Schreck in the role of Count Orlok. Now, 102 years after the initial movie was released, worldwide audiences will get a new, somewhat reimagined version of the German classic, which will be released on December 25, 2024, because there’s no better time to release a horror movie about vampires than on Christmas!
The movie is directed by Robert Eggers, who proved his skill in The Lighthouse starring Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson, and will feature Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok in the movie. And while there are still several months before the movie’s premiere, both Eggers and Skarsgård have spoken highly of the project and based on what they said, we’re in for a majestic experience.

Taylor Sheridan may have earned his name as one of the best writers cum filmmakers of all time, but unfortunately for him, he hasn’t always sported the privilege of getting his work to remain natural and up to his choices, undeterred by others’ opinions. For instance, one of his most personal works had to face a serious change because of the same, as opposed to his wishes.

Games like Skyrim and the Fallout series owe their existence to Wayne Gretzky, the former professional ice hockey player and head coach in Canada.
This might sound ridiculous; there’s no obvious connection between Gretzky and these games at first glance. However, one interview with Bethesda’s executive producer, Todd Howard, shows us exactly how the ice hockey legend’s existence eventually gave way to several classic video games.
How One Man’s Existence Leads to Games Like Skyrim From Skyrim to Starfield, we have one man to thank for kickstarting it all.
In an interview with Esquire, Howard details exactly how he got his start at Bethesda. It all started with his love for video games. Back in the 80s, he already showed an interest in games; not just in playing them, but in wanting to understand how they worked.
Even though he was a business major, video games were called to his heart.

Bill Skarsgård has established himself in Hollywood by playing sinister characters, but he'll take a crack at the anti-hero when The Crow is released later this summer.
The first images and trailer for the movie received a mixed-to-negative response from fans of the classic 1994 movie. Most of that boiled down to Skarsgård's Eric looking more like Jared Leto's Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad than Brandon Lee's iconic interpretation of the comic book character.
However, this isn't a remake, it's a reimagining of the original graphic novel by James O'Barr. And, while the character's appearance has split opinions, the R-Rated action looks undeniably badass.
Talking to Esquire (via FearHQ.com), the actor admits to being unsure about taking on The Crow's title role. "There's definitely worry about that," he says of fan expectations. "I'm trying to view the fame aspect as a challenge and navigate through it in...

Bill Skarsgard says audiences may not be ready to see him in Nosferatu. The actor said this week his role in Robert Eggers’ upcoming remake of the silent vampire film “took its toll.”
“It was like conjuring pure evil. It took a while for me to shake off the demon that had been conjured inside of me,” Skarsgard told Esquire.
Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror was a 1922 silent film directed by F. W. Murnau, which was an unauthorized adaptation of Dracula that later became a cult classic. Eggers’ remake of the pic is set for release this Christmas. Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe also star.
Skarsgard will play Count Orlok, the vampire antagonist. His costume and makeup have remained secret, but Skarsgard says he’s not sure audiences will recognize him. “He’s gross,” he said of the character. “But it is very sexualized.

Several months ago, we got our first look at the “crazy vampire hunter” character Willem Dafoe plays in The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman writer/director Robert Eggers‘ remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) – but we still haven’t gotten a good look at the title character, who is brought to life this time around by Bill Skarsgard (It). It would probably be for the best if we don’t see Skarsgard’s Count Orlok until the film reaches theatres on Wednesday, December 25th – but during a new interview with Esquire, the actor did discuss the process of playing the character, which he said was like conjuring pure evil.
During his conversation with Esquire, Skarsgard revealed that, during the Nosferatu production, he had to spend three to six hours every day getting the makeup and prosthetics put on so he could become Count Orlok.

Taylor Sheridan is unarguably one of the most renowned artists in Hollywood in today’s day and age, especially in the television shows/series industry. And this irrevocable fame isn’t for his outstanding acting skills, but rather, for his brilliant skills as a story creator and a showrunner, considering how he has brought a whole masterpiece universe like Yellowstone to life most epically.

However, while many people know him for the widely respected and thoroughly successful man that he is today, not everyone knows how he initially started — which was as an actor. And his story of finding a place in Hollywood is quite literally just as amusing as Yellowstone and all its prequel spin-off sagas he has made to date, considering how he literally punched his way into the industry!

For all the Blue Bloods fans who haven’t been content with the lack of serious stakes and tension in the show lately, its behind-the-scenes drama should provide more than enough of both.
As CBS is adamant about ending Blue Bloods with Season 14, lead star Tom Selleck is equally hellbent on keeping it going — and so far, it doesn’t look like either party will be willing to back down.
Tom Selleck Won’t Give Up: ‘Tell Your Friends’
While not the only cast member who’s been vocal about the cancellation lately, Tom Selleck has definitely been the most active protester of the network’s decision. The lead star has been going live about it on every opportunity, criticizing CBS for canceling Blue Bloods and claiming that he won’t rest until renewed once again.
Months go by, and Tom Selleck is still on the grind to save his iconic series.

Although the ratings of the show have somewhat plummeted in the last few years with each subsequent season, Blue Bloods is still among the top shows of all time.

Lily Gladstone is opening up about the reaction to her Oscars loss once she went back home to the Blackfeet Nation following her busy awards season with Killers of the Flower Moon.
The actress was nominated for best actress during the March ceremony, but the Academy Award ultimately went to Emma Stone for Poor Things. However, Gladstone recently told Esquire that “nobody was upset” that she didn’t win.
The Under the Bridge star recalled her “beautiful trip home,” and how her tribe’s “whole confederacy came together for a Lily Gladstone Day. It was the biggest honor anybody could get. The confederacy decided together that they wanted to do it. It was a beautiful homecoming.”
She added, “Two thousand people showed up, from every corner of the US. It was absolutely one of the most moving things that has ever happened in my life.”

Josh Brolin is known for taking on some intense dramatic roles. However, as an actor, he is seemingly someone who never lets the nature of the project cloud his own professionalism. Brolin takes a step behind the camera for his new series Outer Range, and having to direct actors brought the Sicario star a little more perspective. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the Thanos actor opened up to Esquire about not buying certain actors’ behavior.
It was when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live when he stated, “I don’t particularly love actors as an actor.” And especially as a director, Brolin told Esquire some of the ridiculous things actors give the crew to deal with,
Especially people who won’t come to the set and that kind of sh*t. If there’s a good reason, I get it, but if you’re just an irritated actor because you’re so creative or sensitive,...

Josh Brolin, the 56-year-old Oscar nominee for his supporting turn in “Milk,” co-star of Best Picture-winner “No Country For Old Men,” and Barbra Streisand’s stepson, can now add director to his resume. The actor got behind the camera for the first time for the penultimate episode of the second season of “Outer Range,” the sci-fi Western on Amazon Prime Video in which he stars opposite Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, and Tom Pelphrey.
The new gig has given him a new perspective on working with actors from the director’s chair. Following a crack he made on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” about how he “didn’t really love actors,” he expanded a bit in a conversation with Esquire.
Explaining how he took the new gig very seriously with what he called over-preparation and not “being lazy about it,” he then shared that he wasn’t particularly impressed with certain kinds of...

As an actor himself, Josh Brolin had a different approach when it came to putting on his director’s hat for an episode on the TV series Outer Range.

Brolin first expanded on a joke he made during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he said, “I don’t particularly love actors as an actor.” However, he told host Jimmy Kimmel at the time that he had a different perspective of them from a director’s point of view.

Some directors prefer a soft touch when working with their talent, but as an actor himself, Josh Brolin’s behind-the-camera demeanor has more of a no-bullshit approach. Discussing his first time in the director’s chair on his television show “Outer Range” with Esquire, Brolin outlined how directing was thrust upon him rather than asked of, but that it came from others seeing he had the skills and sensibility to take on this role.
“There were a lot of interests that I’ve had through the decades that I never really understood,” said Brolin. “When I directed, I was able to funnel it all into one place without trying to force it. My whole life made sense.…I’m not going to quit acting and just be a director. But it utilizes more of my sensibilities as a person. I’m naturally a communal person. I get excited by experimenting.

Is it fair to say that "Tombstone" is one of the best Westerns ever made? At the very least, it's definitely one of the best modern Westerns. Directed by George P. Cosmatos, the stylish, violent saga tells the story of Wyatt Earp and the infamous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Kurt Russell and his glorious mustache stars as Earp, with Val Kilmer stealing the entire movie as Earp's sickly buddy, Doc Holliday. The stacked cast also includes Sam Elliott, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, Michael Biehn, Dana Delany, Michael Rooker, Billy Zane, Charlton Heston, and a voice cameo from Robert Mitchum.
When you make a Western, certain accoutrements are baked into the material. We're talking pistols, cowboy boots, big ol' hats, and of course, horses. Kurt Russell sat down with Esquire for a career-spanning interview, and during the course of the conversation, the actor fondly recalled his time working with his horse on "Tombstone.

Mark Hamill remembered his Star Wars co-star Carrie Fisher in a 2023 interview and opened up about the tumultuous relationship they shared over the years. The duo were cast as siblings Luke and Leia Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy and reprised their roles in Disney’s sequel films. Fisher passed away in 2016 after suffering from a heart attack. Hamill recalled how they constantly argued and made up, presumably until her death.

1993's "Tombstone" features one of the most outstanding collections of facial hair of any movie in history, and star Kurt Russell's incredible crumb catcher is one of the best of the bunch. ("Tombstone" fun fact: There was only one fake mustache in that entire production.) Decades later, in an interview with Esquire, Russell basically said that cinematic trip to mustache nirvana didn't happen by accident. Part of his process as an actor is to seriously consider every aspect of every one of his characters -- especially when it comes to the hair and makeup and costuming.
"I try to draw it from the script and then go into my imagination and do what I think will work," he explained. That approach extended to his ultra-memorable Snake Plissken character in "Escape From New York," because according to the actor, it was his idea for Snake to have an eye patch.

Only the hardest of hearts could have failed to be moved through Avengers: Endgame, especially through Chris Evans’ performance of them all. As much of a joyride as it felt because of those witty dialogues and scenes, it was also one of the most heartbreaking films in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, surpassing even Avengers: Infinity War in its battle of being a total tear-jerker.

"Gilligan's Island" may be viewed as a classic sitcom now, but when the silly series about a group of island castaways aired from 1964 to 1967, it was far from a sure bet for its home network, CBS. As Laura Morowitz writes in the book "Critiquing the Sitcom," the series was "championed by the public" yet "routinely derided by critics." Anything but a classic in its time, the series ultimately became an enduring part of TV history thanks to its seemingly endless replays in syndication. According to Morowitz, it "would come to be the most repeated series in television history."
During its original airing, "Gilligan's Island" was pushed around the prime-time schedule like brussel sprouts on a picky kid's plate. It switched time slots three times during its relatively short run and was finally canceled in 1967. Except, the cancelation of "Gilligan's Island" wasn't straightforward; by several accounts, it came after the show had already seemingly been renewed,...

Jerrod Carmichael appeared on a recent episode of “The Breakfast Club” (via Rolling Stone) and said: “I deeply regret saying anything about Dave Chappelle to the press. I want to say that I’m sorry for that.” Carmichael previously gave interviews to Esquire and GQ in which he criticized Chappelle’s legacy of making jokes about transgender people. Carmichael now noted that his frustration with Chappelle had only to do with the comedian repeatedly making jokes about the same topic and not the morality of the jokes themselves.
Carmichael called Chappelle “brilliant” and “a bright light in a dying industry,” noting that Chappelle is “more important than ever before” because stand-up comedy is dominated by comedians “just posting clips of them doing crowd work online and calling it art, and it’s not art.”
“Dave Chappelle is an artist — he’s one of the few artists that we have — and...

Robert Downey Jr. is currently on one of the hottest runs of his four decade acting career, following his Oscar win for Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” with an unprecedented turn in Park Chan-wook’s new HBO series “The Sympathizer” that sees him playing four different characters.
The two projects showcase opposite sides of Downey’s talents. His performance as Machiavellian political operative Lewis Strauss in “Oppenheimer” was an exercise in subtlety, relying on slight gestures and layered glances to provide the ideal foil for Cillian Murphy’s J. Robert Oppenheimer. “The Sympathizer,” on the other hand, relies on the cocky screen presence that made his Tony Stark the most beloved fixture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a recent interview with Esquire, Downey used a very colorful metaphor to explain that shooting “The Sympathizer” right after “Oppenheimer” allowed him to recover creatively from the precision that was required to work with Nolan.
