- Earl Brown was born on December 25, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. He was a writer and composer, known for The Skeleton Key (2005), All Commercials... A Steve Martin Special (1980) and The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour (1971). He died on January 10, 2008 in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.
- As Musical Director of the 1968 "Elvis" TV Special, on short notice, during the week of taping, he composed "If I Can Dream", Elvis' closing number for the show, as well as Elvis' first million selling single in over 3 years.
- Over the years as Musical Director, he won accolades composing special musical material for the long running "Dinah Shore Chevy Show"(1956-63) as well as " The Sonny and Cher Show ", "Donny and Marie" and other weekly variety shows.
