The Last of Us Season 1 | HBO
Those who have played the video game in its entirety know what the future brings for Pedro Pascal’s Joel and though inevitable, it’s just heart-wrenching! Now, The Last of Us has been a spot-on adaptation, staying faithful to the video game most of the time. However, there is a little deviation in the HBO series regarding Joel’s age which will make the next season even more heartbreaking.

The Last Of Us Season 2 is in the works. Here’s all the juicy details we know about it so far, including what to expect from the upcoming season when it premieres.
The Last Of Us Season 1 Was A Huge Hit
Post-apocalyptic shows can often be a hit or miss with audiences. Particularly in the last ten to twenty years, the genre has been done and overdone. Franchises like The Walking Dead come to mind. While it started out strong, between the original and all of the spinoffs, watchers tend to have viewing fatigue.
That was not the case with the HBO Max adaptation of The Last Of Us. Season 1 on the platform was a huge hit. Actor Nick Offerman even took home his first Emmy award for his gripping performance in Season 1, Episode 3, Long, Long Time.

Fans Express Concern Over The Last of Us Actor Amid Season 2 Time-Skip - Main Image
HBO and Max have announced that production of The Last of Us Season 2 has already started. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will return to their roles as Joel and Ellie, respectively.
While most fans are pumped as the countdown to the show’s 2025 release has started, some can’t help but express their concerns over X and Reddit about one glaring detail:
The second part of the well-loved video game is set five years after the events of the first one, which is expected to be the same timeline for Season 2. However, some viewers have noted that Ramsey did not age a bit, both in the set photos and the official first look, thus wanting Ellie recast.
In Part II, Ellie is 19 years old, ageing noticeably as a brutal and defiant character in a post-apocalyptic world.

Thanks to GameFragger.com, we have the first images of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie from the upcoming second season of HBO's The Last of Us.
Shared by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and Max Content, during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation, both characters look very much in line with their respective video game counterparts, though there are already more complaints on social media about Ramsey looking too young for the role.
She is now 20, a year older than Ellie was in The Last of Us Part II. The video game version looked quite a bit older than 19 when players were placed in her shoes, and we're sure such a youthful-looking Ellie will only make what's to come in season 2 more harrowing.

The first look at Season 2 of “The Last of Us” was unveiled on Wednesday featuring stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. HBO and Max chief Casey Bloys debuted the images during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation in New York City.
The show chronicles the story of Joel (Pascal) and Ellie (Ramsey) as they navigate a world overrun with zombies infected with a parasitic fungus — not to mention the ruthless vigilantes, mercenaries and cannibals just as desperate to survive. Just as the first season of “The Last of Us” was adapted from the acclaimed 2013 video game of the same title, Season 2 of the series is expected to follow the events of its 2020 sequel, “The Last of Us Part II,” which deals with the fallout from Joel’s actions in the season 1 finale.

The Last Of Us Season 2 won’t debut until 2025, but HBO is already teasing what’s to come.
First look photos from the second season were released during Warner Bros. Discovery’s Upfront presentation on Wednesday, featuring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.
The photos don’t give away much in terms of the plot, though that’s to be expected as production just recently began on Season 2. So far, details remain scarce.
The photo of Pascal features Joel standing outside at night, speaking with someone whose back is to the camera. In the next photo, it appears to be daytime, though Ellie is creeping inside of a building with her weapon at the ready in case anything goes wrong.
See both photos in their entirety below.

Bella Ramsey did an exceptional job with their work in the first season of the live-action adaptation of The Last of Us on HBO. However, the performer was greeted with a mixed reception due to their appearance. The community is more concerned about their looks than their talent.
First impressions last and Ramsey was not the first pick by the gaming community, nor the second to portray Ellie Williams. Early set photos of the second season have made their way online and Ramsey is under fire yet again for the same reason they were attacked for the first season.

Cameras have been rolling on The Last of Us season 2 for a while now, and we finally have some semi-decent set photos. These offer fans a first look at Bella Ramsey's Ellie with her girlfriend, Dina (played by Madame Web and Superman star Isabela Merced).
We're going to tread carefully here for fear of spoilers, but those of you who have played The Last of Us Part II video game will likely be able to figure out where in the season this sequence likely takes place.
As you can see below, Ellie and Dina are on horseback and outside the Weston's Pharmacy building.
While some fans have argued that Ramsey still looks too young, she's now 20 and it's been close to two years since shooting wrapped on season 1. These episodes will provide Ramsey with a lot of heavy material to seek her teeth into, though we're confident the Game of Thrones...

The Last Of Us breakout star Bella Ramsey has signed on to play the White Widow, one Britain’s most notorious terrorist suspects.
The Last Of Us season 2 is well into production, but that hasn’t stopped Bella Ramsey from branching out. Deadline reports that Ramsey will star in Girl Next Door, writer-director Bruce Goodison’s film about Sherafiyah Lewthwaite, also known as the White Widow.
The film will tell the story of “a 21 year old suburban mother of two who became radicalised”. The real Lewthwaite, who was born as Samatha Louise Lewthwaite, is the widow of one of the 7/7 bombers and is accused of causing more than 400 deaths.
“This film is about a young life-affirming idealist with a broken heart,” Goodison said of his film, which is currently in development. “Sam turns her grief into a strength that was then exploited by men for purposes of global terror. I...

“The Last of Us” star Bella Ramsey will take on the role of one of the U.K.’s most mysterious and infamous modern day figures in “Girl Next Door” from writer/director Bruce Goodison (“Leave to Remain”).
The film — which Celsius Entertainment has acquired world sales rights to and will launch in Cannes — is set to tell the story of Samantha Lewthwaite, who became known as ‘The White Widow’ and one of the world’s most wanted women.
As per the plot details, “Girl Next Door” centres on Lewthwaite (Ramsey), who fell in love with Islam long before being Muslim was politicised and militarised and became known as ‘The White Widow’. What began as teenage curiosity about an “exotic” and welcoming faith as embodied by her neighbours and best friend, ended with Samantha being consumed by its more radical fringes. “It’s very, very prideful and it was very special for all of us making it,” reflects Damian Marcano on the experience of directing three episodes of “Lawmen: Bass Reeves.” As a child growing up in Trinidad, he and his grandfather would watch “The Lone Ranger” together and, when approached about joining the Paramount+ series, he was “very shocked to find out that he was actually the inspiration for what I had watched portrayed by a white actor,” referring to the influence of the real-life Bass Reeves (David Oyelowo) on American pop culture. Reeves was one of the first Black U.S. Deputy Marshals, and the director is glad for the opportunity not only to “retell these stories with the correct lens,” but also to show “a character of this skin color, an African man, formerly enslaved man” who “gets to do the ass-kicking.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

The Dragon Ball franchise has amassed a large fanbase over the years and Hollywood had its eye on adapting the popular franchise in live-action. There were a lot of expectations and with the negative track record of manga adaptations on the big screen, it was a big responsibility that 20th Century Fox and director James Wong took with the film.

Titans of the faith-based filmmaking industrial complex they helped to create, Kingdom Story Company founders Andrew and Jon Erwin built their brand on the Christian rock biopics “I Still Believe” and “I Can Only Imagine,” ultra-benign stories of faith, loss, and profit that rely on powerful songwriting to compensate for sermon-like storytelling, and frame their subject’s artistic success as both a testament to their faith and a megaphone for the word of Jesus Christ. Absent the rigor or artistry of secular comps like “Love & Mercy” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter” (but also absent the Wikipedia-driven ghoulishness of more recent examples like “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”), these movies are happy to function as feature-length commercials for the musicians they were made to honor, just as they’re happy to offer halos to the people who inspired them.

The Last of Us actor Bella Ramsey is going from fighting infected to kicking cancer’s ass for the coming-of-age comedy Sunny Dancer. They’re leading the cast of George Jaques’s sophomore feature alongside Ruby Stokes and Louis Patridge. The film, which heads to the Cannes market in May, is one of the event’s most talked about projects.
According to Variety‘s exclusive report,Sunny Dancer follows Ivy (Ramsey), a teenager in remission from cancer. Her spitfire mum and well-intentioned dad insist she attends Children Run Free Camp, a summer retreat for young adults affected by cancer. Horrified by what she’s found, Ivy dreads going to what she refers to as “chemo camp.

Jodie Whittaker has gone from playing a Time Lord to doing Time. The former Doctor Who star joins The Last of Us’ Bella Ramsey and The Long Song’s Tamara Lawrance for Season 2 of the British prison drama, now set in a women’s correctional facility in Northern England. Whittaker’s character, Orla, is a single, working-class mother of three, struggling financially, whose world crumbles when she’s sentenced to six months behind bars. Her crime: “fiddling the leccy,” slang for tinkering with the electricity meter to lower her bill. That nonviolent offense lands Orla in the middle of an unfathomable world—confinement with prisoners like Kelsey (Ramsey), a heroin addict, and Abi (Lawrance), a convicted killer—and plunges her even further into an abyss as she tries to hold her family together, with only her alcoholic mother to depend on. Still, it wasn’t hard for Whittaker to connect to Orla,...

Peter Ramsey, Caleeb Pinkett Producing Live-Action Feature Adaptation Of Comic Book ‘The Storm Clan’
Exclusive: Academy Award winner Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and former Overbook head Caleeb Pinkett (Cobra Kai) are set to produce a live-action feature adaptation of The Storm Clan, the comic book created by Dallas Jackson and Joe Casey, which marks the first title from Jackson’s new company DJ Classicz Comix.
Jackson and Casey will pen the script, with former Lionsgate exec Jorge Alfaro to serve as an EP.
A sci-fi action adventure story, The Storm Clan watches as an ex-military weapons engineer trains his five adopted children to be undercover hi-tech/martial-arts thieves wearing an invincible bionic-body armor. Previously orphaned, the teenagers gifted with bionic technology see it provide them with the opportunity to protect themselves from the threats of the streets, also empowering them to take advantage of life instead of being taken advantage of, and most importantly, giving them comfort and sense of belonging within a family.

One cannot understate the strange cultural dominance Hugh Wilson's 1984 comedy "Police Academy" held over the pop zeitgeist throughout the 1980s. Clearly a child of "Animal House," "Police Academy" was a traditional snobs-vs.-slobs comedy that pitted winking wiseacres against their stern commanding officers at a police school in an unnamed city. I've long had a theory that the "Police Academy" movies take place in Metropolis, the city where Superman lives. With Superman taking care of major crimes, the local police force would likely become complacent, unused to enforcing the law.
None of the "Police Academy" movies were well-reviewed, recognized by critics as crass, dumb, and low-brow. This is a series that banks on misogyny, offensive stereotypes, and a lot of crotch/sex humor. There is no wit to the "Police Academy" movies. Roger Ebert famously gave the first film zero stars, citing merely how dreadfully unfunny and uninspired it is.

In a new cooking competition series, creator contestants are vying for the ultimate prize: A personal insult from Gordon Ramsay himself. The hot-blooded chef and TV host has premiered Idiot Sandwich, which he is distributing through his official YouTube channel.

Shiv Roy may have had to reach for her superior’s hand at the end of “Succession,” but Sarah Snook only extended her arm Monday night to receive her trophy. The Australian actor won the Primetime Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, marking her first victory overall.
Previously, Snook had been nominated twice for playing the ruthless political consultant turned aspiring Waystar Royco CEO. Both nods came in the Supporting Actress category, but she — along with her onscreen sibling, Kieran Culkin — moved to the Lead categories for “Succession’s” final season.
Snook triumphed in a stacked category. Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) has 15 Emmy nominations throughout her career, and she’s won twice. Keri Russell (“The Diplomat”) is a four-time nominee who many consider long overdue for a win herself. There was no beef between Ariana DeBose and Bella Ramsey after the Critics Choice Awards moment that went viral.
DeBose and Ramsey were spotted embracing each other with a hug during the Emmys, a day after the incident.
The joke lit up social media on Sunday night, and it happened when Ramsey and Anthony Ramos took the stage to present the Best Song category.
Ramsey started off by reading the teleprompter, saying that the songs nominated in the category were “delivered by some of the most famous voices in the music industry.” Ramos then named Billie Eilish, Lenny Kravitz, and Dua Lipa as part of that batch.
The joke that didn’t sit well with many people was when Ramsey read the line that lumped DeBose as a batch of “actors who also think that they are singers,” which also included Jack Black and Ryan Gosling.

Young Mazino spoke to Marc Malkin during Variety’s On the Carpet, presented by Directv, about landing a highly-coveted role in HBO’s “The Last of Us” Season 2. The network announced earlier this month the “Beef” breakout is set to star in the new season as Jesse, said to be “a pillar of his community who puts everyone else’s needs before his own, sometimes at terrible cost.” He joins fellow newcomers Isabela Merced and Kaitlyn Dever opposite returning favorites Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Mazino says he’s set to start filming the show in two weeks.
“After the strike ended, I was able to get a meeting with the showrunners and we kind of just shopped it up. I played the video game before the meeting and we had a long talk about their process and what they’re looking for. I guess ‘Beef’ pushed me the rest of the way.

Ariana DeBose fans are slamming Sunday night’s Critics Choice Awards for a presenter’s joke about the Oscar winner’s singing.

And then Ramsey added, “then there are the actors who also think they’re singers: Jack Black, Ariana DeBose and, Ken himself, Ryan Gosling.”
The camera then cut to DeBose in the audience looking a bit surprised and perplexed, though not actually upset.
The inclusion of DeBose in the joke struck many as rather unfair given she’s an accomplished Broadway musical star (including being a member of the original cast of Hamilton) and won an Oscar for...
