This Sunday, the final season of “Homeland” will finally arrive. Stars Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin, showrunner Alex Gansa, and a lucky hundred or so of the rest of us got to see it Tuesday at the world premiere, which was held at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
The after-party played out at the Lobster Club, a few long city blocks over. For a “Homeland” fan, the evening was about as good as Tuesdays get. For so many former “Homeland” stars, it was a homecoming.
Below are a few of our non-spoilery takeaways from the nice-enough February night in Manhattan.

Oh, where to start when all of the storylines get a kick in the pants?
The Purge Season 1 Episode 3 was a lot more fun than the previous two installments even if it was just as easy to kick back and roll your eyes at the idiocy of the proceedings.
Some new players are coming and going in the background giving our gullible leads a lot more material to chew on, and it's exactly what the doctor ordered!
The introduction of a new mystery with the groovy lookin' dude in the iron mask led me to believe Miguel is not our hero. Miguel may be Penelope's hero, but the overall story could use a little jump, you know?
Maybe he's coming in the form on the man in the iron mask.

Former Nurse Jackie star Dominic Fumusa is set for a key recurring role in the upcoming The Purge series for USA Network.
Based on the hit movie franchise from Blumhouse Productions, The Purge revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal. Set in an altered America ruled by a totalitarian political party, the series follows several seemingly unrelated characters living in a small city. As the clock winds down, each character is forced to reckon with their past as they discover how far they will go to survive the night.
Fumusa will play Pete the Cop, a keen eyed, no bullshit, ex-military and ex-cop with a mysterious past and a dry sense of humor. He’s extremely connected and respected by the community, and has his finger on the pulse of the city.

It starts with the mixture of excitement and fear the result of a positive pregnancy test delivers before quickly moving into an impromptu hallway dance that ends with a crash of glass and a smack across the face. I’m not sure a better beginning to Dean Matthew Ronalds’ Fourplay would be possible as this sort of escalation of emotion and temper courses through the whole like a live wire of volatility threatening to derail what should be a joyous brunch between friends. In one moment these two couples consisting of hosts Tom (Bryan Greenberg) and Anna (Tammy Blanchard) opposite guests Joe (Dominic Fumusa) and Susan (Emanuela Galliussi) are in a celebratory mood and the next sees them frowning in silence, wondering how they’ve ever stayed together this long.
And at the center of this afternoon is the fact that Anna pregnant — news she doesn’t share with her husband.

Slamdance also has its wonderful surprises and this film was one!
This drama follows Geneviève, a surrogate pregnant mom to be who must reckon with her ambivalence about the pregnancy and her precarious feelings for the parents-to-be.
Human Affairs is nominally about the effect of an impending surrogate birth on the childless couple involved, but its title points to its far more panoramic scope.
Sidney (Dominic Fumusa), a playwright, and Lucinda (Kerry Condon), a theater actress, are a married couple who have been having trouble conceiving a child on their own.
To achieve this, they employ a surrogate, Genevieve (Julie Sokolowski), originally from France but now living in Vermont. Genevieve is invited to live with the couple in New York for a weekend as she begins the fourth month of her pregnancy.

The drama plays out internally to Genevieve as she harbors grave doubts and questions...

Human Affairs is nominally about the effect of an impending surrogate birth on the childless couple involved, but its title points to its far more panoramic scope. Charlie Birns’ Human Affairs is a film about the desire for human connection within a story about surrogacy, a situation that’s intimate by nature but requires an emotional disconnect. As one character points out, the surrogacy process needs women willing to relinquish the child they’ve carried over to its parents without any “emotional complications.” Birns’ feature debut deals with one of those complicated situations, where surrogate and intended parents find themselves unable to deal with the strong, unexpected feelings springing up from the situation they’ve put themselves in. But Birns, like his characters, is out of his depth emotionally, as he’s only able to evoke any emotion from his drama in brief snippets.

We’ve got good news and bad news, Homeland fans. The good news: Sunday’s Season 6 premiere, “Fair Game,” confirms that bad-ass CIA assassin Peter Quinn is indeed alive. (Yay!) The bad news: Yeah, he’s not in such great shape.

Across five harrowing seasons, she’s wrestled with a crippling bipolar disorder, fallen for an American prisoner of war, and confronted terrorism head-on, but Carrie Mathison’s story isn’t over yet – far from it, in fact. Now that Showtime has already nailed down plans for seasons 7 and 8, fans of all things Homeland can rest assured that the network’s flagship CIA thriller isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
In fact, with the oncoming season 6, Showtime’s procedural looks set to hit closer to home than ever before – and we aren’t just talking about the change of location. A change in location isn’t the only thing placing Carrie on edge in Homeland season 6.
Months after thwarting a Berlin terrorist attack at the 11th hour, Claire Danes’ operative returns to home turf in today’s pulse-pounding new trailer, where she finds herself caught up in Washington D.C.’s political whirlwind. Set between Election Day and the Inauguration – and neatly aligning with the ongoing presidential race in the process – Homeland season 6 imagines a scenario in which Elizabeth Marvel (House of Cards) has been sworn in as President-elect, and it’s up to Carrie to keep her calm during this period of transition.
New threats begin to emerge, however, and together with Saul (Mandy Patinkin), and Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham), our steely lead begins to navigate between those competing interests in Washington’s corridors of power, all the while providing council and aid to Muslims living in the States.

Michael Bay propagandizes for a right-wing idea of “true America,” seething with disdain for anyone who isn’t a former elite soldier turned mercenary. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing

This purportedly true account of the 2012 “Battle of Benghazi” opens with American military contractors Jack Silva (John Krasinski: The Wind Rises, Monsters University), who has just arrived in town, and his old buddy Tyrone “Rone” Woods (James Badge Dale: The Walk, Parkland) bluffing their way past a roadblock by armed Libyans. It doesn’t matter what side the Libyans are on; in the chaos that erupted after Gaddafi’s death: the point is that they are Libyans — suspiciously lawless violent folk, that is, who cannot even get their own nation under control — and not Americans.
