Dirk Fischer(III)
Abitur 1964 at the Ostseegymnasium Timmendorfer Strand. From 1964 to 1966 military service in the German Armed Forces, Lieutenant (ret.). Studied at the University of Hamburg, Faculty of Law, first state examination in 1975, second state examination in 1978.
1978 to 1980 in-house counsel in a wholesale company. Admitted to the bar in 1982.
Since 1967 member of the CDU and the Junge Union; from 1970 to 1977 regional chairman of the Junge Union Hamburg; since 1972 member of the CDU regional executive in Hamburg and since 1976 deputy CDU regional chairman; 1974 to 1996 district chairman of the CDU Hamburg-Nord. Member of the Hamburg City Parliament from 1970 to 1981; since 1992 State Chairman of the Hamburg CDU.
Member of the Bundestag since 1980; since 1989 Chairman of the Transport Working Group of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, since 1998 of the Transport, Construction and Housing Working Group, since November 2005 Chairman of the Transport, Construction and Urban Development, Reconstruction East Working Group.
