- Actor
Alexander Cope is a Cinematographer and 1st Assistant Camera based in New York City. Originally from the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, Alex moved to NYC to study acting at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. During his time there, he fell in love with the production side of the industry, and later made the transition to freelancing full time in the camera department. His acting training continues to help him as a Director of Photography due to his understanding of the actor's thought process, and how best to not only capture their performance effectively with lighting and framing, but also how to work with the actor on set so the two compliment each other. Growing up in Vermont, he has a particular fondness for shooting in nature and shaping natural light.
As a 1st AC, Alex enjoys working with a vast array of gear and camera equipment, and the process of leading the camera department on set while still having a hand in crafting the image as a focus puller. He's a big fan of prep days, and loves to play with different cameras and accessories whenever possible in order to stay up to date on all things related to the camera department.
