Henry Cavill imagined as Magneto in MCU fan art, drawing inspiration from the X-Men '97 TV show version. Cavill has been raised as a possible MCU X-Men Magneto, but this could be a miscast for the actor. A better fit for Cavill in MCU could be Cyclops, which would also place him in a central role for the franchise.
New Marvel Cinematic Universe fan art imagines Henry Cavill as the X-Men villain Magneto for the Marvel Studios reboot. With the character rights finally back at Marvel Studios, the McU's X-Men movie is on its way, as the iconic characters will finally get rebooted and imagined in the Avengers-based franchise. As there are multiple iconic characters that will have to get recast, the MCU audience is constantly bringing up various actors for certain X-Men roles.

While they likely won't play James Bond in Bond 26, Michael Fassbender and Regé-Jean Page could still become spies in Black Bag. Fassbender and Page were once contenders for 007, but Fassbender likely won't play Bond due to his age, while Page fell out of the running due to a drop in his popularity. Fassbender and Page likely won't play Bond, but other actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Henry Cavill, and Tom Hardy are still the top picks for the role.
Only one actor can play James Bond in Bond 26, but 2 candidates for the role who likely won't receive it could still have a chance at playing spies thanks to an upcoming movie. Bond 26 is confirmed, but the movie still doesn't have a new actor to portray its iconic spy. Since Daniel Craig left the role after the ending of No Time To Die, there has been intense speculation...

X-Men '97 brings back the iconic animated series and with it some legendary X-Men villains. Apocalypse failed to deliver in the Fox film because of a poor script and poor direction. X-Men '97 can adapt the Age of Apocalypse and redeem the X-Men villain.
X-Men '97 finally dropped its two-episode debut after much anticipation as fans have been champing at the bit for a chance to revisit the wildly popular world of X-Men: The Animated Series. While nostalgia is to blame for a lot of that, X-Men '97 has proven with its first two episodes that it's going to offer far more than nostalgia alone. Not only are the performances and characterizations perfectly on-point, but the storytelling is exceptional so far as well.

Pierce Brosnan could finally have his big break with spy movie "Black Bag," casting him alongside top actors and directed by Steven Soderbergh. Soderbergh's success in the spy genre makes Brosnan's involvement promising, especially after previous unsuccessful attempts to replace James Bond. Despite a previous flop in the spy genre, Brosnan's charm and spy movie experience make him a good fit for a potential James Bond follow-up.
Pierce Brosnan may have just found his James Bond replacement with Black Bag, a whole decade after his last attempt to replace Bond ended in a box office disaster. Brosnan recently joined the cast of Black Bag, directed by Steven Soderbergh and due to begin production in May. After years of failing to secure a suitable replacement for the James Bond series, including a notable $34.8 million flop, this could be the big break Brosnan has been looking for.

Beloved FromSoftware games like Elden Ring and Bloodborne almost didn’t exist. That is unless someone at the company hadn’t given Hidetaka Miyazaki a chance to save a dying project on a whim.
Yes, Miyazaki’s journey to becoming the mastermind behind FromSoftware’s hit titles is marked by a series of fortunate events and daring decisions. Thankfully, it all paid off, and we now have the immaculate Soulslike genre many have a love-hate relationship with.
How Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Sliding Doors Moment Eventually Lead to Elden Ring
We have Hidetaka Miyazaki’s insane luck to thank for the Soulslike genre.
In a 2015 interview with The Guardian, Miyazaki revealed how a career change and a failing project led to the birth of a groundbreaking gaming genre.
Miyazaki’s path to FromSoftware was unconventional. At 29, deemed too old for graduate positions and lacking experience elsewhere, he found refuge at the studio.

Many of us were excited about the prospect of The New Mutants a few years ago. The sales pitch of an “X-Men horror movie” sounded like a match made in heaven. As often happens, the film that was released was far more of a pillow fight than the cage match I’d hoped for.
But as we excitedly embrace the kid in us with the release of X-Men ’97 on Disney+, I couldn’t help but imagine a more adult side of that universe. What if the X-Men franchise embraced the opportunity to lean into the horror genre? I’m talking about the body horror of its mutants, the cruelness of its villains, and the potential for superhumanly violent finishers that would make Mortal Kombat blush. With all that in mind, I took a look through the original X-Men films on a horror scavenger hunt and found some pretty cool trinkets along the way.

Deadpool & Wolverine could finally answer one thing about Logan, a film that was a loose adaptation of the Old Man Logan miniseries. In the film, we saw the sorry state of mutant-kind in the wake of the X-Men and other heroic factions, but it did beg one question: Where were the non-heroic mutant factions of the Fox-verse?
Hugh Jackman as Logan in Logan
What in particular has perplexed fans is what happened to Magneto, whose faction would have made it very difficult for mutant kind to be hunted the way it was in the film. Deadpool & Wolverine might be able to give us some answers with regards to this, given that the film might be jumping timelines and universes. It would finally be able to explain what exactly happened to Magneto and his faction of pro-mutant fighters.

The Apple TV+ limited series “Masters of the Air” is not exactly lacking in big-name star power. The World War II-era drama is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, the powerhouse team behind two previous Emmy-winning series about America’s greatest generation: 2001’s “Band of Brothers” and 2010’s “The Pacific.” And headlining the cast is Austin Butler, fresh off his Oscar-nominated star turn in “Elvis.”
However it is British actor Callum Turner who emerges as the real star of this ensemble drama, which just concluded its nine-episode run. As the free-spirited, occasionally volatile Major John “Bucky” Egan, Turner gives a haunting performance that both anchors “Masters of the Air” and allows the series to take flight.

Alien is returning to the big screen, this time sans Ridley Scott in the director’s chair or Michael Fassbender’s android with a God complex. Shepherding the franchise forward into a new era is Fede Alvarez, the director behind the 2013 remake of Evil Dead and the 2016 slasher Don’t Breathe. As revealed in the first trailer for the film, Alien: Romulus looks like a return to the roots of the series: a space station and its crew, including star Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla), run afoul of a swarm of facehuggers and all hell breaks loose.
The situation is very reminiscent of Ripley’s own nightmare on the Nostromo back in the 1979 original, and it’s clear shots of Spaeny’s character Raines armed with a Pulse Rifle are meant to evoke memories of Aliens, too. That’s on purpose, of course, since the movie is not only bringing back the aesthetics...

Anyone potentially could be Revan due to the customizable nature & decisions in the Knights of the Old Republic game. This full list of actors would bring compelling performances to a dark and complex character like Revan. Many of these actors would also showcase the emotional depth needed to portray a character like Revan in a Star Wars story.
Darth Revan is one of the most beloved characters in all of Star Wars, Legends or otherwise, and many have wished for them to make an appearance in canon. Originally appearing as the main character of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Revan was once a Sith who waged war against the Mandalorians, only to have their memory stolen from them. The game allows the player to make light or dark side decisions with different endings depending on what is chosen.

At the risk of barging too hot out the gate, I'm going to co-sign Chris Evangelista's argument for /Film that there are no bad "Alien" movies. Sure, the various follow-ups to Ridley Scott's classic 1979 original can be polarizing -- especially Scott's gothic prequel films "Prometheus" and "Alien: Covenant" -- but they're never boring, and "Alien" itself remains the rare IP where each individual entry retains the hallmarks of the directors who made them. As though any other franchise would ever let Jean-Pierre Jeunet come in and make a no-holds-barred Jean-Pierre Jeunet sci-fi horror film like "Alien: Resurrection." Just sayin'.
For as much as I would've liked it if Scott got to finish telling the story of the beloved homicidal android David (Michael Fassbender) with his intended prequel trilogy finale "Alien: Awakening," I'm curious to see what Fede Álvarez comes up with playing in this particular sandbox. The "Evil Dead...

27 years after he was last seen in X-Men: The Animated Series, X-Men '97 heralds the return of one of the mutant team's greatest adversaries - Magneto.
The backstory for Erik Lehnsherr (aka Magneto) has been depicted in various ways over the years, from the character's first appearance in The X-Men #1 to Ian McKellan and Michael Fassbender's live-action portrayals of the character.
As with many of its story arcs, X-Men: The Animated Series stuck closely to Marvel comics for its depiction of Magneto and his backstory sets up an interesting arc for the character in X-Men '97.

Murphy has played non-Irish roles so often and so well that some people may not realize or remember that he is Irish. Masters of the Air was a labor of love for executive producers Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. The Apple TV+ series marks the third and final installment of the trio’s war drama miniseries, after Band of Brothers and The Pacific.
The series took three years to create and cost between $250 million and $300 million to produce, including a hefty $60 million in Covid compliance costs to film during the pandemic. The result was an epic nine-part series with 325 speaking parts and an amazing cast of up-and-coming actors.

James McAvoy has been in the entertainment industry since he was a teenager. When he made his debut as an actor in The Near Room in 1995, he was not much interested in becoming an actor. Avengers: Endgame upped the ante not just for the entire franchise, but for the genre of superhero films in general. However, in doing so, the franchise might also have made it impossible for themselves to top what has been done. The Marvel Cinematic Universe might have a lot of trouble setting up another finale like Endgame, but a theory suggests that it might already have its cards ready for Avengers: Secret Wars.

Irish actors had never won an Oscar for leading roles despite Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal, and Colin Farrell receiving nominations. Notable Irish actors like Liam Neeson, Michael Fassbender, and Ruth Negga have earned Oscar nominations but never won. Irish actors like Kenneth Branagh and Barry Fitzgerald have won Oscars at the Academy Awards but never in a leading role.
The Oscars are the most sought-after prize for anyone working in films, but until Cillian Murphy's Oscar win, no Irish actor or actress had won the Oscar for a leading role. The Academy Awards are incredibly prestigious, with only a handful of categories awarding an Oscar each year, and several nominees fighting to win the coveted prize. However, despite incredible talent and many years of hard work, many people involved in cinema will never win an Oscar themselves.

The Assassin's Creed movie series faced challenges with overcomplicated storylines and negative reviews overall. Actor Michael Fassbender was unaware that the film was based on a video game when he signed on to the project. Disney's acquisition of Fox led to the cancellation of planned sequels, leaving the potential for a successful reboot uncertain.
Assassin's Creed is based on the video game series of the same name, and 20th Century Fox planned for the 2016 movie to be the first of a long-running franchise, but it seems the Assassin's Creed 2 film will not happen. The first movie is set in the future and follows Cal (Michael Fassbender), who travels back in time to the 15th century to try and extract information from his ancestors. The character travels through time using genetic memories in his DNA, which is how he learns to become an expert fighter, killer, and free-runner.

Belfast hip-hop trio Kneecap has canceled several shows they were due to perform at the SXSW festival to support their wild comedy biopic “Kneecap” in “solidarity with the people of Gaza.”
In a statement posted on its social media channels, the group — who go by the stage names of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí and star as themselves in the film — said that the decision was made due to “highlight the unacceptable deep links the festival has to weapons companies and the U.S. military who at this very moment are enabling a genocide and famine against a trapped population.”

Talk To Me breakout star Sophie Wilde is set to appear in Watch Dogs, a long-in-gestation adaptation of Ubisoft’s hacking-based videogame series.
As such Hollywood films as Blackhat and Hackers have taught us, only the coolest and most photogenic people engage in cybercrime. The cool-and-trendy-hacker theme was continued in Watch Dogs, a series of sandbox action adventure videogames first published by Ubisoft in 2014.
Spawning a hit franchise comprising two sequels and counting, Watch Dogs sees high-tech outlaws cause all kinds of digital mischief in cities around the world, with each game taking in stealth, driving, fisticuffs, shooting and tinkering with electronic devices.
A film adaptation based on the series was first floated by Ubisoft Motion Pictures back in 2013, before the original game was even released. The division’s plans for a multitude of movies based on its games took something of a body blow, however, when 2016’s Assassin’s Creed,...

One day, Barkhad Abdi was driving taxicabs in Minneapolis and the next, he was on movie sets in Malta and Morocco, making his acting debut opposite Oscar winner Tom Hanks in the high-octane hostage picture Captain Phillips for filmmaker Paul Greengrass.
A few days after cameras started rolling, Abdi dialed up Francine Maisler, the casting director who locked him in the movie playing the lead Somali pirate responsible for hijacking an American cargo ship. “I called Francine and said, ‘I like this. I want to do more. How can I make this my career?'” remembers Abdi, who beat out more than 1,000 hopefuls vying for the role from open casting calls in Minneapolis, Ohio and San Diego, cities home to large populations of Somali Americans. “She asked me how many Black actors I see in movies each year, and I said, ‘Not that many.’ She then said, ‘Whatever you do...

DC's Elseworlds spin-offs like Joker and The Batman offer fresh, parallel narratives to counter superhero fatigue. Elseworlds comics allow for creative liberties like reimagining Superman as a Soviet protector or Wonder Woman as a sheriff. Jonah Hex's 2010 flop can be rebooted to explore a serious 19th-century origin story, offering a break from typical superhero genre action.
With James Gunn’s DC Universe still in its nascent stage, its Elseworlds spin-offs have done wonders with acclaimed titles like The Batman and Joker. Learning from the DC Extended Universe movies, the Elseworlds label counter superhero fatigue with fresh, parallel narratives that don’t carry much multiversal context. With many DC Elseworlds comics set in the past, the cinematic franchise can even helm some stylish period pieces. Joker’s gritty 80s-era Gotham, for instance, offered a good break from the modernist sci-fi of other DC releases of the time. Another creative liberty...

It never gets easier to look up the horrors of what real life humans are willing to perpetrate but some of them are harder than others. Looking into the purported Scottish myth that inspired The Hills Have Eyes for example is a whole heck of a lot easier to do than find out the absolutely abysmal crimes that were committed against a young girl in The Girl Next Door. Sadly, today’s movie The Snowtown Murders, a.k.a. Snowtown (watch it Here), is a lot closer to the sickening facts that happened to The Girl Next Door. While Australia already got our notorious spotlight shined on the fictional Mick Taylor who was a composite of two backpack killers, today we will look at the man who is known as the country’s worst serial killer and unpack what he did and who with.
