Never thought I’d see the day when formal Eternal star Louise Rednapp and Ray Winstone were in a film together let alone playing a married couple but in Hot Potato, that is exactly the case. Here’s the first trailer and images for the new movie which is being released in the UK September 10th. The film also stars Jack Huston, Colm Meaney, David Harewood, John Lynch, Lois Winstone and is directed by Tim Lewiston.
It has a Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels vibe about it which to be honest can only be a good thing. Have a watch of the trailer and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

The year was 1993. I was watching Channel 4′s ‘The Word’ (it’s not a crime, honest!), dreaming of leaving the one horse town I lived in for University the following year when my speakers started crackling a sound that was like a locomotive rushing headlong towards me… ‘Supersonic’ by Oasis was blaring out and I knew I needed to follow these guys through thick and thin! Since then bands have come and gone – I’d continually listen to new sounds hoping to revisit that same raw energy feel I had that day, but nothing really had the same impact… Until last week! A good friend linked me You Tube Footage of ‘Lois and the Love’ playing live with the words ‘this sound is going to explode’. A handful of songs and twenty minutes later the goosebumps had returned and like those 19 years ago I was listening to a band...

Ray Winstone lends his weight to this drama about widower whose daughter leaves home – but it's all a bit underdeveloped
Ray Winstone is an honest and well-intentioned presence in this slightly odd-looking drama, co-written and co-directed by Ethem Cetintas and actor-turned-film-maker Karl Howman. Winstone plays Frank, a provincial solicitor who has been devoted to his daughter Helen (Lois Winstone, Ray's daughter) since his wife died; when Helen leaves home for college, poor lonely Frank suffers from empty-nest syndrome. His life is then turned upside down by some dramatic news: Frank finds that he did not understand Helen as well as he thought. At just 76 minutes, it feels as if the film isn't quite long enough to say all it wants to: it seems like a very personal project for both Winstone and Howman, filled with interesting but unfinished and undeveloped dramatic ideas.

Here’s our first look at Ray Winstone’s next, The Hot Potato, a London based gangster yarn featuring Colm Meaney, Jack Huston,David Harewood Phil Davis, Derren Nesbitt, Lois Winstone, Maike Billitis, and Jean Louis Sbille.
So far we’ve seen some nice artwork for the film and the presence of Ray Winstone pretty much guarantees we’ll be on board for this one. The film is shooting now in Belgium and the UK under the direction of Tim Lewiston who also wrote the film.
Before the main course, perhaps you would care for a synopsis as an entrée?

You may not think that a film about a wamed tuber would be up your street, but as it turns out The Hot Potato doesn't have to do with actual potatoes, whether baked or fried. Instead, it's the lower-carb tale of two East End geezers in 1960s London who find themselves in well over their heads when they come into possession of a lump of pure uranium. And here's the very first picture from the film, which stars Ray Winstone and Jack Huston as the two blokes in question. As the blurb has it, "Kenny (Winstone) and Danny (Huston) decide to investigate the value of the ‘potato’ and, to their surprise, find that there is seemingly no end of people willing to pay a high price for it. The pair, ably assisted by Danny’s girlfriend, Carole (Lois Winstone) and shadowed at every turn by the unshakable Harry Fisher (Colm Meaney...

Basement UK ArtDirector: Asham Kamboj.
Writer: Ewen Glass.
After watching director Asham Kamboj's Basement, this reviewer now knows what medieval times were like, when subjects would protest the king. The iron maiden or the rack would almost be a better alternative to watching this seventy-six minute film drone on about nothing in particular. Yet, the show must go on.
Paperknife Productions is the creator behind Basement and this is their only production. If they were relying on this film for profits, then this newly created cynic can see bankruptcy in this company's future. Revolver Entertainment UK, which is known for better film fare like Dead Man Running, Jcvd and the upcoming Iron Sky made a misstep here, by distributing this truly farcical cinema. This film launched in the UK August 23rd on DVD and Blu-Ray, after a brief showing in theatres August 20th. Much like an unfinished basement, this...

Lily Allen was among the attendees of the "Tamara Drewe" premiere in London at Monday night, September 6. The pregnant singer, whose mother Alison Owen worked as a producer on the Stephen Frears-directed movie, put her bump proudly on display in a tight-fitting black dress and high heels.
Asked about the use of her music in the film, Lily joked it was only her mothe's involvement that led to it being used. Speaking on the special green carpet at the Odeon Leicester Square, Lily, who was accompanied by boyfriend Sam Cooper, old Bang Showbiz, "I mean, my mum produced it. When Hollywood stars were taking a break on Labor Day, some British actors spent the day promoting their film. On Monday, September 6, the cast of "Tamara Drewe" attended the U.K. premiere of the movie at the Odeon, Leicester Square in London. To fit the set of the movie which is a countryside, red carpet rolled outside the building was placed among fake grass and cattle.
Gemma Arterton, who lures men in the film, was still charming in a different way that night. She ditched her make-up to show a natural look with a simple cream dress. On the red carpet, she talked about her title character who is described undergoing plastic surgery, explaining "She's a little bit saucy and a bit promiscuous, but it was fun playing her."
Also supporting the premiere were cast members Lois Winstone, Charlotte Christie, Tamsin Greig, Dominic Cooper, Luke Evans and Roger Allam, director...

Brit actor Danny Dyer is certainly adding the genre credits to his resume of late. The movie is set to hit UK theatres on 20 August and just 3 days later on DVD (don't forget to enter our giveaway!). And now finally a trailer and an extended plot synopsis has hit the web-ways. You can check it all out below. Dyer stars alongside Jimi Mistry, Emily Beecham (below), Kierston Wareing, Lois Winstone and Christopher Ellison. You would think that with "Lost" mania still a big part of pop culture (despite its lukewarm finale), people who run into a mysterious hatch popping out of the ground in the middle of nowhere would just turn around and leave it alone. But hey ... then we wouldn't have a horror movie now, would we?

British producer Jonathan Sothcott got in touch with Fango to tip us off to a couple of genre projects he’s attached to. The first is Devil’S Playground, which is slated to begin production in London in late January with Andrew Gunn on board as director.
