As it turns out, it’s actually quite difficult to sell a house with no windows, electricity, or plumbing for $50 million, as Kanye West (now known as Ye) has learned first-hand. As reported by Forbes, West has dropped the asking price of his 4,000-square-foot house in Malibu from $53 million to $39 million after struggling to sell the gutted property.
West originally bought the Tadao Ando-designed home in 2021 for a whopping $57.3 million from bicycle designer Richard Sachs. He subsequently gutted any existing fixtures and furnishing, including removing the windows and doors. The following year, West hired contractors and started prepping for what seemed to be substantial renovations. Within a year, however, construction halted, leaving parts of the structure completely exposed to the elements. According to reports, neither West nor his contractors have been spotted on the property in the time since. Mark it down as yet another unrealized Ye project.

The 1970s– an era of “unrest and mistrust, fear and violence,” says the opening minutes of Colin and Cameron Cairnes’ Late Night with the Devil, accurately reflecting the viewpoint of the burgeoning moral panic of the time. Fear mongering-ish as that sounds, after a decade of Christianity in crisis mode– including a 1966 Times cover asking, “Is God Dead?”– and the “Satanic” cult murders by the Manson Family in 1969, the ’70s were a time of peak (at least until then) obsession with all things occult, planting the seeds and ultimately leading to what would be known as the full-blown Satanic Panic in the decade to follow. The devil was believed to be real, and he was to be feared, expelled, and/or worshiped– in real life and reflected in dozens and dozens of horror films and countless categories of other media within that era.

From playing the mutant superhero Logan in Marvel’s X-Men movies to appearing in the musical drama The Greatest Showman, Aussie actor Hugh Jackman has flexed some acting muscles throughout his career. But what stood out as one of his grittiest films, is Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners.
Hugh Jackman in Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners
Apart from the Dune helmer’s vision that turned the movie into a grand success, it was also Hugh Jackman’s improvisation during a violent scene that made the movie even more exciting to watch. However, according to reports, while Jackman’s improv worked wonders for the scene, it also made his co-star fall to the ground in fear.

Seeking Mavis Beacon. From its very first scenes, Seeking Mavis Beacon (2024) invites audiences to interrogate their perceptions of reality. A dreamy hybrid documentary steeped in jewel-toned Tumblr aesthetics, the feature debut from Bay Area–raised artist and filmmaker Jazmin Jones unfolds as an investigation into the curious case of Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, an educational software program that rose to popularity just as the internet was beginning to pervade in everyday life. Launched in 1987 by a trio of Silicon Valley developers, Mavis Beacon would go on to coach millions into a more comfortable relationship with technology. Over the years, the game’s early cover-art model, a Haitian expat named Renee L’Esperance, became a familiar face in households across the US and a rare Black icon in the (still) overwhelmingly white world of tech.Despite the ubiquity of Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, little was known about its namesake—including the...

Elon Musk‘s erratic posting on X, formerly Twitter, has come back to haunt him once again as a 22-year-old Jewish man pursues a defamation case over tweets in which the tech mogul baselessly suggested the recent college graduate was an undercover federal agent posing as a neo-Nazi during a street fight between far-right groups. Musk’s excruciating March 27 deposition in the matter, which a judge ordered released to the public over the objections of the CEO’s lawyer, and was first obtained by HuffPost, reveals the extent to which...

With the recent success of the Dune film series, Denis Villeneuve has become one of the most coveted filmmakers in the industry with his work being compared to legendary films like The Empire Strikes Back. However, his prowess extends beyond sci-fi, delving into the complexities of human emotion across genres.

Solar eclipses, like the upcoming one on April 8, are a well-documented scientific phenomenon. As early as 763 Bce, ancient Assyrians were charting the process by which the path of the moon temporarily obstructs the sun, and astronomers have continued to do so for thousands of years since. Our knowledge of eclipses predates our knowledge of gravity, algebra, and toilet paper. We are well aware of their existence, and we are well aware of what causes them. (I mean, I personally am not, but other people ostensibly are.)

The parents of the children murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary on December 14, 2012 thought they’d lost everything, but InfoWars host Alex Jones found new ways to take even more. He incited a mob of unhinged conspiracy theorists and set them loose on grieving parents for his own profit. A gunman’s bullets massacred 20 children in just eight minutes, but Jones spent the next decade slowly torturing their families.

On Monday, a federal judge dismissed Elon Musk‘s lawsuit against researchers who studied hate speech on the social media platform X owned by Musk.
Musk sued the Center for Countering Digital Hate for violating X’s terms of service for their research of hate speech on the platform, citing their gathering of data. Musk also claimed that the Ccdh’s report repelled advertisers away from X over brand safety concerns.
Judge Charles Breyer, who dismissed Musk’s case, wrote a 52-page order explaining his reason. The order claims that Musk’s lawsuit was not brought out of security concern for X, but out of anger against the Ccdh.
“Sometimes it is unclear what is driving a litigation,” Breyer wrote. “Other times, a complaint is so unabashedly and vociferously about one thing that there can be no mistaking that purpose. This case represents the latter circumstance. This case is about...

In Jon Watts' 2019 film "Spider-Man: Far from Home," Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is tempted to cede control of a newly-bequeathed orbital missile network to an alleged interdimensional traveler nicknamed Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). Mysterio mentions that he's a superhero from a parallel timeline and that Earth is only now starting to reach into other dimensions. Mysterio's story will later prove to be a lie, yet the notion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe multiverse was implanted in people's minds (building off its brief mention in "Doctor Strange").
That multiverse idea was then hammered home in the film's epilogue. After the day was saved and Mysterio was defeated, Spider-Man's secret identity was brazenly revealed on international TV by none other than J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons), a character not seen since Sam Raimi's 2007 film "Spider-Man 3." Raimi's films, it should be noted, are in a separate continuity from the MCU "Spider-Man" movies.

There have been rumors that New York Jets’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers might be part of the Presidential campaign for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. With those rumors come reports of things that Rodgers said in the past about several things. Rodgers has been outspoken about his belief in conspiracy theories for years and this includes the Sandy Hook school shooting.
However, Rodgers is walking back those comments now. Here is what the NFL quarterback and possible politician had to say about the horrific school shooting.
Aaron Rodgers Releases Statement About Sandy Hook
On December 14, 2012, a school shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut shook the nation. The shooting left 26 people dead, including 20 young children. It was the deadliest mass shooting at an elementary school in United States history. However, there were some people led by Alex Jones who claimed the shooting was faked.
Jones claimed there was no school shooting.

HBO has released the first trailer (below) for its upcoming documentary chronicling the rise and fall of one of the most controversial and disgraced voices in American media: Alex Jones.
In The Truth vs. Alex Jones, filmmaker Dan Reed (Leaving Neverland, Four Hours at the Capitol) shows how Jones built an empire peddling supplements to listeners of his popular InfoWars radio show and then fueled his own collapse by promoting a conspiracy theory that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was staged and its shattered parents were actors.
“With his embrace of Sandy Hook hoaxer theories, Jones discovered that a high-octane mix of conspiracy and politics could set his audience on fire like never before, turbocharging his online supplements business,” Reed said in a statement. “The parents of the children murdered at Sandy Hook confronted Jones in a court of law and exposed his lies. British director Dan Reed (“Leaving Neverland”) spent four years filming Sandy Hook Elementary parents as they attempt to hold Alex Jones — the infamous talk-news conspiracist guru of InfoWars — accountable for the lies he spread about their children’s murders in 2012. The result is the HBO documentary “The Truth vs. Alex Jones.”
Bringing Jones to trial involved years of effort by the grieving parents and their legal teams and culminated in two jury trials for damages in Texas and Connecticut. The outcome was America’s biggest-ever defamation verdict, with nearly $1.5 billion awarded by juries in the two states to the families, Not surprisingly Jones, who called the Sandy Hook massacre a hoax and was accused of using the tragedy to help sell dietary supplement on his site, subsequently declared bankruptcy.
Variety spoke to Reed ahead of “The Truth vs. Alex Jones” SXSW world premiere on March 11.

The BBC has revealed more details about this year’s Comic Relief telethon, which will be broadcast on 15th March on BBC One.
Comic Relief launched in 1985 with a telethon that has since become embedded in British culture. Known as Red Nose Day, on account of the red noses sold as part of the appeal, over the years this has led to many classic comic moments, from The Young Ones singing Livin’ Doll with Cliff Richard, to Johnny Depp and Sting appearing in The Vicar Of Dibley, to Billy Connolly running naked through Trafalgar Square and Mr Bean infiltrating both Blind Date, and a Torvill and Dean dance routine.
Lenny Henry, who co-founded Comic Relief with Richard Curtis, recently revealed that he will be stepping down as host after this year’s telethon. Henry said of his decision that “when we first started Comic Relief back in 1985, I never dreamed...

If you’ve ever donated blood, you know part of the process is a lengthy — and slightly invasive — questionnaire regarding your medical, travel, and even sexual history. It’s a bit annoying, but helping maintain the national blood supply for medical emergencies is worth it. In 2021 the Red Cross issued guidelines that allow those who have received the Covid-19 vaccine to donate so long as they’re not actively experiencing symptoms from the vaccination.

Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines has been married to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. since 2014. She’s on her second marriage, while Kennedy is already on his third.
Recently, the couple did a photo shoot for The Hollywood Reporter alongside Conor Kennedy and Kyra Kennedy, who are Kennedy’s children from his second marriage to Mary Richardson Kennedy. They had two other sons, Finn Kennedy and Aiden Kennedy, who died by suicide in 2012.
The blended family also included Hines’ daughter, Catherine Young.
Hines and Kennedy first met in 2004 at a celebrity ski fundraiser for Waterkeeper Alliance, which Kennedy funded. Before their divorces, the two families traveled and skied together.
In one instance, Hines and her ex, Curb star and creator Larry David, attended an event with no intention of skiing, but Kennedy urged them to join.

Seekr, an artificial intelligence company specializing in transparent content evaluation and generation, announced today the release of Seekr Align, an advanced brand safety and suitability tool that unlocks new audience reach by giving brands and ad agencies unprecedented visibility into hundreds of thousands of podcast episodes whose brand safety and suitability is largely unknown. Align, which is built on Seekr's large language model, combines Seekr's proprietary content evaluation and scoring capabilities with and industry-leading user-friendly interface.
"Seekr Align unlocks more brand-safe advertising opportunities in a podcast landscape that is notoriously complex and difficult to navigate," said Rob Clark, President and Chief Technology Officer of Seekr. "In a short period, Align has already evaluated over 8 million minutes of podcasts and applied Seekr's proprietary scoring, enabling the desired alignment between a brand and content. The volume of content scored by the platform will increase five-fold by the end of the year, far outpacing competitive offerings.

“I believe wholeheartedly that I captured, that night, an angel on film,” Colette Reynolds said in a recent TikTok shared with her 2.2 million followers.
Behind her was a photograph of a tree, at night, with a gauzy white shape visible on a branch. Reynolds, a professional-looking woman with glasses and curled blonde hair in a black turtleneck sweater, identified it as a seraphim, the highest order of angel in Christendom. She had taken the picture years ago, she said, at a low point in her life, explaining that this angel...

While I’m pretty sure that only parents can properly fathom the indescribable horror of discovering that your child is missing, I think anyone can relate to the desperation of losing a loved one. That’s why it makes sense that this premise has been used as a jumping off point for all sorts of revenge narratives since time immemorial, with badass protagonists often doing whatever it takes to either recover or avenge missing family members.
However, there is one film that explores a much less glamorous side of these cinematic vendettas, and that would be Denis Villeneuve’s 2013 thriller Prisoners, a modern classic that explores just how far a desperate man might go when he’s convinced that his terrible actions are completely justified.
Originally a spec script by Aaron Guzikowski that wound up on the 2009 Black List, Prisoners would only get off the ground when Mark Wahlberg stepped...

Uipdated with statement from Rfk Jr gala organizers: The arguably greatest fictional TV Potus ever is not endorsing the White House bid of Robert Kennedy Jr., and Martin Sheen sure as hell isn’t showing up as a warm prop at any Rfk Jr fundraiser anytime soon.
About a week ago, invites went out for a self-described “gala” on January 22 to celebrate the independent candidate’s 70th birthday. Sheen, Mike Tyson and Dionne Warwick were reported to be attending the event as “well-wishers.” On Thursday, some of President Jed Bartlet’s old West Wing staff have gone public to declare their old boss has no intention of attending.
In fact, via Bradley Whitford and Mary McCormack, Sheen says he remains an avowed supporter of incumbent Joe Biden, not Rfk Jr.
There’s a story going around saying that Martin Sheen is supporting @RobertKennedyJr for president. The story is incorrect. Martin...

In a significant setback for the social media platform X, it has been revealed that the company has lost 71% of its value since it was purchased by Elon Musk.
Mutual fund Fidelity, which holds a stake in X Holdings, disclosed that it has marked down the value of its shares by 71.5% since Musk’s acquisition. Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022 and subsequently rebranded it as X in July 2023. Fidelity’s assessment would place the current value of X at approximately $12.5 billion. The number of monthly X users dropped by 15% in the first year after Musk’s takeover, primarily due to concerns over the proliferation of hate speech on the platform.
Since Musk assumed control of X, the company has implemented drastic measures to cut costs, which included reducing staff by at least 50% and scaling back moderation efforts.

A top anti-vaxxer has taken over Robert Kennedy Jr.’s campaign communications shop — underscoring the fringe, anti-science thrust of the independent candidate’s presidential bid.
Del Bigtree leads the conspiratorial, anti-vaccine Informed Consent Action Network, which alleges (against substantial scientific evidence) that childhood vaccines cause autism, and that myriad vaccines — from chicken pox to Covid jabs — “should never have been licensed.” Bigtree is also the producer of a controversial, 2016 vaccine-alarmist “documentary” called Vaxxed.

Rudy Giuliani filed for bankruptcy today, one day after a judge ordered the Donald Trump associate and former New York City mayor to start paying two former Georgia election workers the $148 million awarded them last week in a high-profile defamation lawsuit.
In his petition filed today in the United States Bankruptcy Court (read it here), Southern District of New York, Giuliani lists $153 million in existing or potential debts, including almost $1 million in tax liabilities, money owed to his lawyers and millions of dollars in potential legal judgments in addition to the $148 million owed the Georgia election workers.
Yesterday, District Judge Beryl A. Howell ordered the man once known as “America’s Mayor” to begin payments to the election volunteers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea ArShaye “Shaye” Moss immediately out of concern that Giuliani may attempt to “conceal and dissipate” his assets.

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is asking the families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting victims to accept a settlement of $5.5 million a year for ten years. This means they would receive $55 million in total if they accepted this offer.
Jones falsely claimed that the victims were “crisis actors” trying to further gun control legislation.
Under the proposal, they could be granted more money depending on Jones’ income.
Those who would accept this deal would have to give up all legal claims against Jones or any party related to him.
Chris Mattei, the lead trial counsel for the families in Connecticut, made it clear that Jones’ proposal is not a serious one.
The families filed a counterproposal, which was focused on liquidating nearly all of Jones’ assets. Some of the assets they referred to were those related to his right-wing media company, Infowars.

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy made waves again on Sunday in response to CNN commentator Van Jones‘ recent criticism of him.
Jones had referred to Ramaswamy as a “demagogue” in a previous on-air discussion and expressed concern about what he perceived as the rise of an American demagogue.
When Ramaswamy, 38, appeared at Turning Point USA’s Americafest in Arizona, he didn’t hold back in his reply to Jones.
He directly addressed Jones’ characterization, “And then you get the mainstream media, you got this character Van Jones on CNN afterward saying, ‘This is the rise of an American demagogue who’s gonna live 50 years longer than Trump. This is dangerous, I am shaking,’ that’s what he says.”
Ramaswamy said, “Just shut the f—- up. At a certain point, just shut the f— up.”
The crowd responded with cheers and laughs of support.

Entrepreneur and Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy forgot to mute his mic while on a bathroom break from a live X Spaces chat alongside renowned figures such as Elon Musk and US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
The chat, which had an audience of approximately 2.3 million listeners, took an unexpected turn when Ramaswamy interrupted Musk to say, “Gentleman, I have to go.”
Musk had expressed his views on the reinstatement of Jones to the social media network.
As the session progressed without Ramaswamy, several participants noticed the unmistakable sound of rushing water in the background.
Jones humorously pointed out, “Someone’s got their thing open peeing. Somebody’s got their phone in the bathroom.”
When the recording of the Spaces chat was reviewed, host Mario Nawfal revealed, “Vivek, that’s your phone. But I am not able to mute you.”
Ramaswamy quickly realized the source of the sounds and promptly apologized for the mishap.

Fuentes leads an “America First” movement of young white nationalists who call themselves “Groypers.” One of the country’s most insidious racists, Fuentes denies the Holocaust and has increasingly advocated for a violent form of Christian nationalism, as epitomized by his Friday remarks.

Elon Musk has reinstated the banned X account of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones – and stirred up even more controversy among advertisers.
On Saturday, Musk conducted a poll in which he asked users whether Jones should be allowed back on the platform, formerly known as Twitter.
The results of the poll showed that 70% of respondents believed that Jones should be reinstated. Musk took to X again on Sunday and stated, “The people have spoken and so it shall be.”
Shortly after Musk’s announcement, Jones’ posts reappeared on the platform, with the last one posted back in 2018 when he and his show, Infowars, were permanently banned for abusive behavior.
Musk, who considers himself a free speech absolutist, defended his decision and emphasized his philosophy that protects individuals’ rights to express their opinions.
Additionally, Musk hinted that X’s crowd-sourced fact-checking service, Community Notes, would address any future posts by Jones that required correction.

Elon Musk, responding to a poll he initiated on his X platform, has restored the account of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
Jones and his Infowars site had been banned since 2018. Restoring Jones’ account comes as Musk has seen advertising from major brands flee the platform.
Jones repeatedly said on his web show that the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut never happened and was staged in an effort to tighten gun laws.
Relatives of many of the victims sued Jones in Connecticut and Texas, winning more than a billion in judgments against him, a verdict Jones is appealing. A Texas judge ruled in October that Jones cannot use bankruptcy protection to avoid paying more than $1.1 billion to families who sued.
Musk’s poll on Saturday asked if Jones should be reinstated, with the results showing 70% of those who responded in favor. Early today, Musk tweeted, “The people...

Tucker Carlson is asking fans to fork over $72 for a charter one-year subscription to his new streaming video service — which his site says is “days away” from launching.
Carlson officially announced the direct-to-consumer service, at tuckercarlson.com, in a post Saturday on X (formerly Twitter). After he was fired in April 2023 from Fox News Channel, where he had been a fixture for more than a decade, Carlson has been producing a right-wing talk show distributed on Elon Musk’s X.
