Jim Hart was married to singer Carly Simon for almost 20 years, and in his upcoming memoir Lucky Jim he reveals a marriage filled with kinky sex and mutual jealousy. Ultimately, their union ended with his addiction to crack cocaine and not-so-secret homosexuality.
According to the book, their connection was intense but problematic from the beginning. Around the time they met, Hart recalls visiting a movie theater that he describes as a “gay cruising space.”
“It was the beginning of the AIDS crisis, and the men looked more and more suspicious to me,” he writes. “I never touched anyone — I was petrified.

It has been one of the stories of 2015. Whilst creatively WWE has found itself in a complete rut, one group has stood tall as a beacon of light throughout the year. The most surprising thing to many is that the group is spearheaded by a man who would have been on a number of predicted future endeavour lists at the start of the year.
I’m talking of course about Xavier Woods. When he arrived on the main roster in 2013, Woods was randomly paired with R-Truth, the dancing good guys that nobody cared about. He feuded with Brodus Clay over the use of Ernest Miller’s music and the dancing Funkadactyls, and the entire thing was a washout from the start.
This was winter 2013, and Woods did a whole lot of nothing until he approached Kofi Kingston and Big E in the summer of 2014. This led to the formation of The New Day.

A new TV spot has been released for WWE 2K16 which puts the spotlight on a number of fan-favourite WWE Superstars meeting around a campfire to confront their demons. In other WWE 2K16 news, it has been revealed today that the managers set to be included in the game are Paul Heyman, Paul Bearer, Bobby Heenan, Brad Maddox, Lana, Rosa Mendes, Gerry Brisco, Jimmy Hart, Col. Robert Parker, Pat Patterson, Sherri Martel, Mr. McMahon, Corporate Stephanie McMahon, Miss Elizabeth, Ted Dibiase and Zeb Colter. According to Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, Hulk Hogan’s been a f***ing liar who didn’t give a f*** about the fans since I was seven years old and Heenan traded for the contract of King Kong Bundy from Jimmy Hart in order to put an end to Hulkamania. However, what a Bundy victory in the steel cage at Wrestlemania II hasn’t done, a mix of time, space, place and happenstance have done to the belief that Hulk Hogan is a good, kind and honest man most concerned with the well-being and happiness of his “Hulkamaniacs.”

Music has been integral in WWE history, especially anthems for all the greatest WWE Superstars. Since Sgt. Slaughter first made his entrance to the Marine Corp hymn in the early 80s, music themes have become synonymous with the WWE Superstars – who doesn’t remember Hulk Hogan’s “Real American” theme? Or the Ultimate Warrior’s high-energy entrance music? Even years after the stars retire, the songs live on.
Just hearing the first few notes brings the crowd to their feet. They are the songs that let the WWE Universe know that business truly is about to pick up. Now, this new DVD gets fans behind the music to learn the inside story behind the timeless anthems of WWE and its Superstars.
Featuring interviews with the man behind the music, Jim Johnston, who composes all WWE music - Signature Sounds: The Music of WWE counts down the 25 most memorable tracks from the WWE’s history.

There has been a lot of debate over the years regarding who, exactly, was the best manager in the history of professional wrestling. One could argue for Bobby Heenan based on his pivotal role in promoting WrestleMania III, or Paul Heyman for his advocacy of Brock Lesnar alone, but in wrestling, success is measured in gold. If we frame success in terms of championships won — which is the idea of wrestling, after all — who was the statistically best manager of them all?
To answer that question, it was necessary to not only tally the number of championships, but also to weigh them appropriately in terms of prestige. Championships were therefore tiered in the following categories:
Tertiary titles (Television, Hardcore, European, and state-specific titles of national promotions), both single and tag, are worth one point.
Secondary titles (Intercontinental, U.S., King of the Ring, and regional titles of national promotions), both single and tag,...

Bobby Heenan had more wit, and Jimmy Hart was more obnoxious. But Jim Cornette had the whole damn package. With his cheap suits, sharp voice, and ever-present tennis gear, Cornette managed the WWE’s monsters during the early to mid-90’s. Among his charges were Yokozuna and Vader — massive, mostly silent giants who benefitted from having a smarmy motormouth by their side.
But as professional wrestling turned into sports entertainment, and the New Generation transitioned into the Attitude Era, Cornette’s old school wrestling philosophies fell by the wayside. He shifted around the WWE in various roles – as a booker, as a manager, as a talent developer in Ovw – before joining Tna, and then Ring of Honor.
In the midst of all this, Jim Cornette became known for his shoot promos. At first, they were the traditional ‘worked shoots’ that the WWE sometimes partakes in. But in more recent years,...

Would William Regal be able to take Paige to the next level?
Managers have been in WWE for a long time, and over the years we have seen some legendary ones who elevated talent to the next level. It all started off with guys like The Grand Wizard and Freddie Blassie, before moving over to more well-known legends like Bobby Heenan, Paul Bearer and Jimmy Hart.
In recent years, there have been many managers make it to our TV screens, some of whom have done a tremendous job of talking up their stars and making them look better (Paul Heyman and Vickie Guerrero), and then there are those who most people wouldn’t even remember; or want to remember (Abraham Washington, anyone?).

As the release date for WWE 2K15 — October 28th — continues to grow near, there seems to be a more steady flow of information being released. IGN has now released an exclusive video entitled “The Making of WWE 2K15”, which seems to be the first in a series of videos. It’s unclear how many episodes there will be, but the first one provides some solid information, as well as a great behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the wrestling simulator.
Throughout the video, there’s copious amounts of footage which showcases Cesaro performing motion capture for the game. Cesaro is shown performing various taunts, posing with a championship belt, and executing some of his signature moves. It seems that 2K mo-capped everything unique about Cesaro, especially his diverse moveset. The 6’5” powerhouse performed moves like a catching tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, a gutwrench suplex, and of course, his signature giant swing.

After months of speculation top Japanese star Kenta Kobayashi, aka Kenta, finally agreed to sign with World Wrestling Entertainment. On July 12th in front of a hot Osaka crowd the man some call ‘The Black Sun’ joined Hulk Hogan and ‘Mouth of the South’ Jimmy Hart in the centre of the ring to officially sign a long term deal that will see him join the ranks of America’s top wrestling promotion.
Ever since then speculation has been running high as to how the WWE will utilise him. If you’re new to this game then you may not understand the way Vince McMahon likes to work and how he couldn’t care less if someone is a huge star in another organisation. If he didn’t make you a star then you sure aren’t going to be presented like one – with only the occasional exception. There...

The glass shatters, the bell tolls, or a familiar riff hits– everyone in the arena knows who is about to grace their presence. Entrance music is crucial to every wrestling superstar’s career, many more than others.
Since theme music was popularized in the 1980′s, many careers were accelerated by something as simple as the music played when they walk down the aisle. Producers such as Jimmy Hart and Jim Johnston have made a career off of creating tunes for superstars, with Johnston even receiving his own DVD, “Signature Sounds” earlier this year.
Does a great theme song make a great superstar, or vice versa? Is the wrestler responsible for popularizing the theme, or is the producer the brains behind the brawn? Either way, one of the most important aspects to a character is their signature theme music, which can make or break careers in some respects.

When the news leaked that WWE had signed Kenta (real name Kenta Kobayashi) earlier this year, it surprised a lot of wrestling fans. It’s not a surprise because of his talent. It’s a surprise because at 5’7″ and 180 pounds he’s smaller than most guys that WWE would sign. Not only that, but at age 33 he’s older than guys that WWE typically brings in too. However, he’s been one of the best Japanese wrestlers of the last decade that had a dream of working for WWE, so that’s where he’s headed to be a part of Nxt by the end of this week.
There is another reason why he’s being brought in too. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, a big reason why WWE signed Kenta is because the WWE Network is expanding into Japan next year and they wanted...

Kenta has officially signed with the WWE; his signing coming as part of a Hulk Hogan ‘contract announcement’ angle at the WWE Live Event in Osaka, Japan on Saturday. This week’s WWE programming came from London, England and for once, embraced the different crowd and acted accordingly. The results weren’t quite as effective as when WWE did it in Chicago in February, but it did produce some different television to the norm.
Payback took a little bit more shape but still feels very much like an unknown quantity, partly due to Daniel Bryan’s neck surgery which was also addressed on Raw as the champion received an ultimatum. The main two feuds, Evolution versus The Shield and Bray Wyatt versus John Cena, continued to roll forward while a new number one contender was crowned for the Intercontinental Championship.
Two Europeans formed a rivalry while overseas as Sheamus and Cesaro developed an issue, and Hulk Hogan made his first WWE appearance in London in 20 years. He even brought a surprise guest along for the ride in Jimmy Hart.

World Wrestling Entertainment has seen its fair-share of foreign objects used in its 50 years of existence. There was a time when foreign objects were limited to objects found around ringside- folding chairs, the time keeper’s bell, ring steps. Foreign object brought to the ring by a manager- a manager’s cane, megaphone, or loaded purse- have always been in vogue, as have items smuggled into the ring in a wrestler’s tights- brass knuckles, a roll of quarters, a pencil- or boots. Stables have long been a part of professional wrestling. Usually consisting of a group of heels banded together to battle the babyfaces, a stable presents seemingly insurmountable odds for the hero to overcome.
They’re also a very useful tool to elevate up and coming wrestlers; by placing them in a faction with established stars, the newcomers are given a significant rub by being elevated in the eyes of the fans.
Jimmy Hart’s First Family is commonly credited as being one of the first stables, uniting to battle Jerry Lawler in Memphis during the 1970s. And of course The First Family helped serve as a launching pad for many men who would go on to become major stars, such as “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Randy Savage, Eddie Gilbert and King Kong Bundy.
Let’s take a look at the stables who have garnered...

And of course The First Family helped serve as a launching pad for many men who would go on to become major stars, such as “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Randy Savage, Eddie Gilbert and King Kong Bundy.
Let’s take a look at the stables who have garnered...

Hulk Hogan will return to WWE Television on the 24th of February Raw in Green Bay, Wisconsin, reports PWInsider.
That Raw comes the night after Elimination Chamber and on the evening of the WWE Network launch. In addition to Hogan, his long time manager Jimmy Hart is also expected to be in attendance on Raw, to promote his show ‘Legends House’ which will be featuring on the WWE Network.
The report of Hogan’s return also reveals some of the details of his deal with WWE. The Hulkster agreed the contract shortly after leaving Tna a few months ago. The WWE had discussed using Hogan for publicity attention at the Network announcement in Las Vegas on January 8th, but instead decided he would be better utilised on WWE television.
As we reported yesterday, The Undertaker is also scheduled to return on the February 24th Raw.

This is seriously the most entertaining wedding ceremony I've ever seen. When the priest asks for any objections, the action begins, and it just escalates from there! The groom ends up taking on a knight, a group of ninjas, angry bellhops, even Iron Man, Batman, and WWE legend Jimmy Hart show up for the fun. Every wedding should have at least one fight sequence! Thanks to Geekologie!

Sometimes when you speak to a casual wrestling fan the first thing they remember about a particular Superstar is their entrance music. For a large part of the 1980s and 1990s Jimmy Hart and Jim Johnston composed some of the most memorable and catchy WWF/E theme songs of all time.
In the late 1990s wrestlers began to use ‘real’ music to come to the ring rather than the generic WWE theme tunes of old with mainstream bands lending their tunes to WWE to accompany stars down the aisle.
In memory of those great days before bands like Papa Roach, Motorhead and Metallica came along and spoiled it all What Culture takes a trip down memory lane and remembers 10 of the very best old school theme tunes of all time.
See how many you remember.
10. Doink The Clown (heel)
Doink is one of those characters that divides wrestling fans right down the middle.

As we reported earlier, WWE creative have been told to treat the July 23rd 1,000th Raw as a major pay-per-view event. The majority of the writing team and officials’ time and effort right now is not focused on WWE No Way Out pay-per-view on June 17th but the celebratory Raw that begins a permanent move to three hours.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE creative are being pushed hard to come up with a huge angle that will dominate the summer, similar to how the Nexus and Cm Punk angles caught on with fans in the past two years. Specifically they have been told to devise a “knock your socks off” type angle that will broaden interest to fans who haven’t watched WWE regularly for the past year.
WWE officials currently feel the current product is stagnant and are concerned about the poor ratings.

Monster Brawl
Written and Directed by Jesse T. Cook
(2011) Canada
Fantasia imdb
It is only too appropriate that the World Premiere of Monster Brawl at Fantasia was presented by Tony Timpone, former editor of Fangoria Magazine, because if any film could be described as inspired by arguments from Fangoria it’s Monster Brawl. Or even arguments made before Fangoria even existed. The spiritual predecessor to virtually all genre publications was Forry Ackerman’s Famous Monsters of Filmland and one of the eternal arguments that raged in that publication (and its heirs) has always been: Which monster is stronger? Which monster is better? Which monster would win in a fight?
That is a question that has sold movie tickets since 1943 when Universal put out Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man and continues to sell movie tickets to this day, witness two Aliens vs. Predator films, a Freddy vs. Jason film and even a Freddy vs. Jason vs.

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? Point Blank Trailer It's this time of year when escapism reigns supreme. While I haven't really found anything that satisfies my need for Crank level...

How's this for different or just plain random. Legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan has decided to take a break from Hulkamania. In this video he "tries" to test out his rhyming skills, rapping to "Juicy" by the Notorious B.I.G (one of the featured songs on Def Jam Rapster). He's joined by Brook and long time friend Jimmy Hart (aka The Mouth of the South). There's actually a pretty funny scene of Jimmy doing some sort of "Cabbage Patch" dance to the beat. What do you think? Should Hulk stick to wrestling? At least Brook holds a tune, singing the chorus. Buy Def Jam Rapstar:...
