On her new album Childstar, the Mexican pop star Danna introduces herself to fans in Latin America who thought they already knew everything about her.
To start, the 13-track concept LP, which dropped last week, is the singer’s first project under her new stage name “Danna.” (She’s removed the “Paola” from her original moniker.) Omar Apollo is looking at himself through Zoom as he tries on the beige Sherpa jacket he just bought. “You fuck with it?” he asks.
It’s hard not to fuck with everything the Mexican American alt-r&b star does. Apollo dropped his debut album, Ivory, in April 2022, then blew up with the ultra-sentimental song “Evergreen,” and followed that success by touring with Sza last year. Recently, he’s been dipping into fashion. (A massive billboard of him dripped in the luxury designer Loewe looms over Sunset Boulevard in L.

Nate Albert is getting top billing at Giant Music. The Azoff Company said today that the record-biz veteran and Mighty Mighty Bosstones co-founder has been named president of the indie label launched by Irving Azoff and his son Jeffrey in 2022.

Bringing a stripped-down version of her Sos Tour to the grounds outside Dodger Stadium on Sunday night, Sza closed out Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival — the two-day music festival curated by Tyler, the Creator — with a stylish and soulful flourish.
The performance was a victory lap of sorts for the singer-songwriter born Solána Imani Rowel, her first since her nine Grammy award nominations — a record this year — were announced on Friday.
Pulling from her critical and commercial 2022 smash album Sos, her 2017 debut Ctrl and various other sources (her 2018 Black Panther soundtrack duet with Kendrick Lamar, “All the Stars,” plus covers of Dojo Cat’s “Kiss Me More” and Drake’s “Rich Baby Daddy”), Sza writhed in giddy delight, her voice as strong as ever. She even mounted a silver ball suspended in the air for her rendition of “The Weekend.”

A mix of hot cool and longing filtered and enhanced by the artist’s lens. After all leather is a second skin, a protection, communicating both keep your distance and come hither. With Saturday marking the first official day of Autumn, Las Vegas’ Life is Beautiful is the last hurrah of the summer festival season.
Life Is Beautiful is unique in that it doesn’t take place in a large field or a city park, but smack dab in the middle of Vegas’ eclectic downtown, turning parking lots into disco rooms, hotels into art exhibits, and swaths of streets into stage areas. There’s neon everywhere, a giant fire-spewing metal Praying Mantis by the festival’s entrance, and fitting to the Life Is Beautiful message,...

As if Pride Month couldn’t get any gayer, “And Just Like That” Season 2 and Kim Cattrall’s new Netflix series, “Glamorous,” are premiering on the same day, June 22. “Isn’t that incredible?” says Cattrall’s co-star, actor and musician Miss Benny. “That is the gay stuff that I love. I’m excited for our show. I’m excited for that show. I’m excited for the spectacle of it all.”
In “Glamorous,” Miss Benny plays Marco, a gender-nonconforming wannabe influencer who lands a job working for a beauty mogul (Cattrall). Miss Benny says Cattrall signed on to “Glamorous” after watching a clip of them playing a “sexual, raunchy and queer” character on “American Horror Stories.” “That blows my mind because I did that whole part saying, ‘What if I do it with a little bit of Samantha?’” they say. “I mimic her portrayal of Samantha a lot in my campier work.

Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is back. For the first time since 2019, the music event will return with a new lineup of performers — but it’s keeping its location at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium. Camp Flog Gnaw has always taken place far outside of the normal date range of music’s summer festival season. For 2023, the carnival is scheduled for Nov. 11 and 12.
The 2023 lineup is being kept under wraps for the time being, but Tyler, the Creator might have dropped a few hints about who to expect.
