Among the pages of Naughty Dog’s 30th Anniversary art book was an all-new look at Nathan Drake for the studio’s in-development sequel, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
The image comes via Kurt Margenau’s Twitter feed, who is serving as Lead Game designer on the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Without doubt, the image showcases the stunning visual fidelity that the studio is able to achieve on current-gen hardware — as if the in-game trailer from E3 wasn’t enough evidence already. But, after scratching beneath the glossy surface, it becomes abundantly clear that our quick-witted adventurer is beginning to show his age.
And while other mid-life crises end at receding hairlines and unpaid bills, Drake will come out of retirement for one last job in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,...

Irrational Games announced this morning that BioShock Infinite has been pushed back from its February 26th release date — which was itself a delay from the game’s original release window of October 2012 — and will now launch on March 26, 2013.
Ken Levine (Irrational Games’ boss) made the announcement during a press preview event, explaining that the extra month will be used for “polish and bug fixing”. Levine’s exact comment concerning BioShock Infinite‘s delay reads:
“When Rod Fergusson [former Gears of War franchise director at Epic Games] came on board we looked at the game… He was there for about a month and he said, ‘look, I’ve been looking at the schedule and looking at the game and frankly you could really benefit from another three or four more weeks for polish and bug fixing.’”
“We talked about it. I knew I’d probably get beat up in the press a little bit about it. But at the end of the day,...

The floating dystopia of Columbia just got a little more dangerous with the inclusion of two more enemy types. After the jump, check out the video introduction to Bioshock Infinite's new Heavy Hitters, the Boys of Silence and the Handyman.
A few weeks back, we gave you a look at the Motorized Patriot in the last Heavy Hitters video from the Irrational team. This time around, there's yet another mechanical enemy you'll be ducking attacks from: the iron-clad Handymen, who Irrational's Creative Director Ken Levine describe as tragic figures in the game's storyline. Versus the more human-scaled Patriot, the Handymen are a bit more physically imposing with a range of augmented abilities.
See for yourself:
Next up are the sonic-powered Boys of Silence, who art director Nate Wells explains were actually a pretty early addition to the game which Levine fell in love with very quickly thanks to their unique visual hook.

Developer Irrational Games have finally revealed their plans for a zombie shooter that combined co-operative first-person shooter gameplay, base building, and tactical strategies with scarce supplies and loads of zombies. Titled Division 9, the game was planned prior to Left 4 Dead (in your face, Valve!). Irrational’s creative director Ken Levine explains how the game came about:
The reason we were frustrated with zombie games at the time was they never had the sense that you got for Dawn of the Dead, because there was really only Resident Evil at that time. That there was this group of survivors and they had to gather resources. They’d lock themselves up in the mall, and then be like "Oh, shit. We don't have any food. We have to go out into the world and take these risks." And that was the game design, basically. You have a group of survivors, and these resources.
