Last year, a creative overhaul saw The Punisher's Dario Scardapane replace Matt Corman and Chris Ord as Daredevil: Born Again's showrunner. Now, all signs point to the Marvel Studios series delivering the take on the Man Without Fear we've been waiting to see in the MCU.
TV Line caught up with Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio at the Upfronts in New York yesterday and asked the former whether the retooling has brought Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk more in line with Netflix's Daredevil.
"Not exactly the same, but much closer," Cox teased. "And potentially much improved."
D'Onofrio added, "It’s hard to comment because I want to say so much about both the [Netflix] show and this show, and the change that happened, but in the end, the last few months of work we did was written beautifully and directed beautifully. Personally, I think it’s as intense as we’ve ever been.

The upcoming MCU show, ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ is generating a lot of buzz. It marks the full integration of Daredevil into the MCU and serves as a soft reboot for the character. While much of the storyline remains under wraps, we do know that Murdock will be starting a new law firm and will encounter Wilson Fisk, who is running for mayor of New York.
The show has faced its share of challenges during development, including a total rework despite filming more than half of the episodes. Fans were particularly disappointed by the initial decision to exclude Foggy and Karen from the series. Originally, both characters were rumored to meet unfortunate fates between Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Born Again,’ but subsequent reworking of the show brought them back into the fold.

The Protector of Hell’s Kitchen is all set to return to the screens after a long time with Daredevil: Born Again. Yet, as happy with anticipation about his return as fans are, some of the updates about the upcoming show aren’t making it seem all too appreciable, especially the most recent potential spoiler about an MCU hero.
Daredevil: Born Again
As it seems according to recent reports, there are chances that a major hero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whom fans had been waiting to see for so long, just might end up dying in the most bothersome way possible. And fans won’t be happy about it if this comes true, considering how the hero in the talk is none other than the fan-favorite White Tiger, aka Hector Ayala.

One of the most highly anticipated MCU productions is certainly ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ This is partly due to the fan-fueled hype and partly due to its turbulent production that’s been plagued with everything from the SAG-AFTRA strike to creative differences in what the showrunners wanted and what the studio wanted.
It yet remains unclear how connected ‘Born Again’ will be to the Netflix series, and the majority of the plot remains largely unknown except for the fact that Daredevil will be starting a new law firm, he will face off against Muse, and Wilson Fisk will be running for Mayor. What we do know is that several notable characters from Netflix’s production will be making a return. Both Elden Henson’s Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen were seen on set so that settles those rumors. The question of whether Bernthal’s Punisher would return as well...

Following in the footsteps of Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane, and Ray Stevenson, Jon Bernthal took over the role of Marvel Comics character The Punisher, a.k.a. Frank Castle, in the second season of the Netflix series Daredevil. Bernthal’s version of The Punisher then got his own show on Netflix for a couple seasons. Now Bernthal is reprising the role in the Marvel / Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again – and during a recent night of filming, The Punisher (or someone wearing the Punisher skull logo) was spotted on the set! Images and video showing this person on set can be seen at the bottom of this article, but beware of Spoilers! If you don’t want anything about Daredevil: Born Again spoiled for you, stop scrolling now.
Now, if you’re here for spoilers… We don’t know for sure whether the person wearing the Punisher skull in this scene...

Ismael Cruz Córdova is no stranger to fighting for a role. "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" star fought "ferociously" for his role in the Prime Video series, and was eventually cast as the Silvan Elf Arondir. Córdova saw a lot of himself in the character -- he may have channeled Arondir's warrior spirit during his months-long audition process. "Characters like this, it's like they find you," Córdova told Esquire in September 2022. "I just always knew that this was mine."
Córdova seems to bring that same outlook to each audition: in the rare case he doesn't eventually win a role, it's probably because it wasn't meant for him. Recently, the actor was in the running to play a very different warrior, Adam Warlock, in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3." Though he lost out to Will Poulter — and the rejection definitely stung — Córdova may yet find a place in Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” star Ismael Cruz Córdova is opening up about the cast and crew’s mental health while shooting the Amazon Prime Video series.
During an appearance on this week’s “Just for Variety” podcast, the actor tells me that an on-set therapist was on hand to offer help after the show received racist backlash against its inclusive and diverse casting. “You need support when this happens because the voices are so loud and they’re coming at you from so many places,” Córdova says.
Córdova, who was shooting Season 2 in the U.K. when we spoke, says the therapist’s presence alone was beneficial. “I loved seeing her there, even if we didn’t speak,” he said. “I knew there was someone there seeing me completely. It wasn’t just as an actor.”

Fox has partnered with McDonald’s to launch a “The Masked Singer”-themed Happy Meal at stores starting April 4. Dubbed the ‘Masknificent’ Happy Meal, the item will feature one of 12 plush toys inspired by one of the “Masked Singer” costumes that have been showcased over the series’ nine season.
Kids (or adults who — shhh — can order a Happy Meal too) will also finding a guessing game to play before discovering which character is in the box. Each toy will be in opaque wrapping with a special clue as to which character is hiding within. The game, of course, mimics the unmasking seen on “The Masked Singer.”
Characters from seasons past that will be included are T-Rex, Peacock, Thingamajig, Miss Teddy, White Tiger, Space Bunny and others. (One toy per box.) The Happy Meal boxes will also include a scannable code that directs customers to a ‘Masknificent’ Ar experience in which they...

Welcome to this week’s “Just for Variety.”
Somewhere over the rainbow, indeed! Kenya Barris tells me that LGBTQ representation will be featured in his “Wizard of Oz” remake. “The original was an allegory and a reflection of the way the world was at the time with things like the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl,” says Barris, who will write and direct the reimagining for Warner Bros. “Now we’re going to turn a mirror on where we’re at right now and take disparate characters from the LGBTQ community, from different cultural communities and socioeconomic communities, and tell a story that reflects the world. I think this is the best time to do that.”
He understands a “Wizard of Oz” remake comes with tremendous pressure. “I’m nervous,” Barris tells me. “Hopefully, my movie can last as long as the original does.” He adds with a laugh: “Hopefully my movie comes out.

There have been a number of Power Rangers pitches that never quite made it to the screen. We've got the details on three of them.
The world of television is a crazy place. For every idea that eventually makes it to screen, a hundred more are left unused. Some of them are true gems, others are discarded for the realities of production, and some are just plain bad.
Power Rangers is no exception to this. For a show that’s been on for twenty years, a lot of ideas have been lost for one reason or the other: Greg Aronowitz's original idea for a Lord of the Rings version of Mystic Force, Devin becoming the Triassic Ranger, and even the fabled “Ancient Rangers". Whether all these would have happened, or if they were even true, still provoke fandom discussion to this day. Today we’ll be...
