Sf Studios has boarded “Toscana,” Mehdi Avaz’s upcoming romantic drama starring Anders Matthesen that just started filming.
A tribute to love and food, “Toscana” also stars Christiana Dell’Anna (“Gomorra”) and Andrea Bosca (“Quantico”), as well as Ghita Nørby (“Silent Heart”), Lærke Winther (“Dicte”) and the singer Christopher. Matthesen, one of Denmark’s most popular actors, previously starred in the award-winning film “Out of Tune” and in the local hit movie “Ternet Ninja.”
Sf Studios is planning to release “Toscana” in theaters across the Nordics in December 2021. It marks the third feature film by Avaz, who made his feature debut with “While We Live” in 2017 and his sophomore outing with the 2019 drama “Collision.” The filmmaker also produced the critically acclaimed TV show “Alfa,” which recently bowed on TV2 Zulu.

Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones) and Jodi Balfour (The Crown) will lead the cast of upcoming BBC One thriller Rellik.
Created and written by Harry and Jack Williams, the six-episode series will reverse the story of a serial killer, starting at the point in time they are caught and going backwards.
Dormer will play Gabriel Markham, a Met detective that obsessives over finding the serial killer while Balfour plays his partner, Elaine.
Described as a “bold, original and twisting thriller” by New Pictures Executive Producer Willow Grylls, Rellik (“killer” in reverse) was commissioned in 2015 after the success of Williams brothers’ The Missing, also for BBC One.

Indie filmmakers Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel have signed on to write and direct an English remake of the Danish thriller Mørke (Murk). The project is set up at Gold Circle Film with Paul Brooks (Slither) and Matthew Riklin producing. Released in 2005, Mørke details a journalist's investigation into his sister's mysterious death on her wedding night and the whereabouts of her missing fiance. Anders Thomas Jensen co-wrote the original film with Jannik Johansen, who also directed. It starred Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Nicolas Bro and Lærke Winther Andersen. Sarmiento and Harel previously collaborated on the low-budget horror flick Deadgirl, which premiered in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto International Film Festival in September and will be released next year by Dark Sky Films.
