- Glen Sather was born on September 2, 1943 in High River, Alberta, Canada. He is an actor, known for Life After Hockey (1989), 1988 Stanley Cup Finals (1988) and 1972 Stanley Cup Finals (1972).
- Named 12th President and 10th General Manager of the New York Rangers (1 June 2000)
- First member of the Edmonton Oilers organization to be selected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. (9 September 1997)
- During his tenure as head coach and General Manager of the Edmonton Oilers (1979-2000), the club won six division titles, six conference titles and five Stanley Cup titles.
- Named himself head coach of the New York Rangers one day after firing HOF'er Bryan Trottier. Sather is the third GM to take over for a fired NHL coach this season. (30 January 2003)
- In 658 NHL regular season games (1966-1976) with the Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, Montreal Canadiens and Minnesota North Stars, he had 80 goals and 113 assists for 193 points.
