Malin possesses a unique expertise in choreographing authentic and dynamic intimate scenes. Her work is grounded in artistic storytelling, and she collaborates closely with the director and other creatives. Her work commences early in the pre-production phase, and she is often invited as an integral part of the artistic team. By applying a method rooted in trauma-informed and consent-based practices, Malin facilitates the implementation of best practices, ensuring the safety and well-being of both actors and the team.
Malin has an extensive background as an acting coach, educator, and performing arts director, with comprehensive training in directing and Actor Training and Coaching (MA) from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (RCSS), dramaturgy from RADA, and pedagogy (BA) from Umeå University. Furthermore, she has pursued advanced training as an intimacy coordinator.
With over 20 years of international experience, Malin returned to her home country Sweden and in 2019, introduced intimacy coordination as the first of its kind in the country and one of the first in Europe. Her groundbreaking work has also focused on educating the industry through lectures and workshops aimed at various organizations and institutions within the fields of TV, film, and performing arts.
Malin is the co-founder of The Intimacy Practitioners' Guild (IPG) and The Nordic Intimacy Coordinators (NIC).
