James Pappas(1942-2021)

James (Jim) Pappas was a Canadian entrepreneur born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, very active in the local arts scene. He received his BA in 1964. He served as President of the Manitoba Theatre Centre in 1980 for 3 years, and also on their Advisory Board for the next 42 years. Jim was a Board Member of Rainbow Stage, Dry Cold Productions, and Contemporary Dancers. He co-chaired the 75th and the 100th birthday of Kelvin High School in Winnipeg, one of the largest and oldest public schools. He was on the Board of CJNU Nostalgia Radio, and also did a weekly show on CJNU on Mondays at 1pm "A CLASS ACT with JIM PAPPAS." He was an avid reader and collected old movies. Pappas taught cooking to adults for 14 years. He was married and had 2 grown children. He died of a sudden heart attack on November 11, 2021.
