Hulu has bought U.S. rights to British comedy horror Wreck.
The six-part series comes from Euston Films (Dublin Murders) and emerging British writer Ryan J. Brown. It launch on Hulu on March 1 following a deal with distributor Fremantle.
Wreck is billed as “a tense thriller, mixing comedy with a slice of slasher, set aboard a mega cruise ship.”
It follows 19-year-old new recruit Jamie, as he infiltrates a 1,000-strong crew in a desperate race to find his missing sister, who worked on the same ship but vanished mid-charter. An overworked and underpaid crew live lives of partying and excess and they remain oblivious to bloodthirsty murders taking place on board.

Fremantle and Kansai TV have launched new entertainment format “Quiz Pong” following a co-development deal initially revealed at MIPCOM 2022. The format was launched in Japan last month by Kansai TV and Fremantle will handle the production and global distribution.
“Quiz Pong” is a fast-paced gameshow where teams compete against each other in a fun tournament testing their mental, physical, and strategy skills. The teams go head-to-head by throwing balls into moving baskets, on a supersized set and answering general knowledge questions to score points. The harder the basket is to reach the more difficult the question inside the basket will be for their opponent. After battling through two rounds, the winning teams compete in the grand finale for a prize.

BritBox Tells Story Of Modern British Cinema
BritBox has commissioned a documentary telling the story of modern British cinema through exclusive interviews with some of the UK’s biggest filmmakers, produced by Jon Spira and Hank Starss’ Canal Cat Films – the duo’s fifth collaboration. Narrated by comedian Nick Helm, Reel Britannia will feature the likes of Mike Leigh, Ken Loach, Terry Gilliam and Hanif Kureshi, along with behind-the-scenes footage, as the four-part documentary takes viewers from the 1960s Social Realism movement through to the 1990s, when stars like Hugh Grant became global phenomena, through to 2010. Abacus Media Rights is distributing the documentary, which will air on BritBox in the UK, U.S., Canada and South Africa. Spira, who has made a number of films about indie cinema, described Reel Britannia as a “dream project.”

FX documentary “Framing Britney Spears” is finally getting a U.K. release.
Comcast-backed pay-tv operator Sky has snapped up rights for the hit documentary, which aired earlier this month Stateside on the cabler and Hulu. The doc will debut on the Sky Documentaries channel as well as SVOD service Now TV on Feb. 16 at 9pm.
The acquisition is a coup for Sky, as it would have made sense for the documentary — given FX’s Disney ownership — to land on Disney Plus in international markets like the U.K. However, the only home that would have made sense for the doc is the forthcoming, adult-oriented Star tile, which launches in European markets only on Feb. 23. Considering the strong demand among U.K. audiences to watch the film, it’s likely the timings would have worked against a Star debut.
