Yellowstone director Taylor Sheridan is slated to work on a new project that would adapt S.C. Gwynne’s book to the screen. Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History was published in 2010.

Sheridan won after a rigorous bidding. As one of his so-called passion projects, the filmmaker has been eyeing to work on this since Warner Bros. gained the rights to it.
Native American Actress Doesn’t Support Taylor Sheridan’s Upcoming Project
While others expressed excitement, Native American and Echo actress Jana Schmieding was doubtful and unimpressed. She told Yahoo Entertainment:
“I rolled my eyes so hard, they almost popped out of my face. It’s laughable that he continues to think that he’s the right person for this job. He shoots on his own ranch.

Exclusive: Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan and his Bosque Ranch have optioned the S.C. Gwynne book Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History.
Bidding was competitive, and Bosque was aggressive to win the book. Sheridan and Jenny Wood will produce for Bosque Ranch.
A long-standing passion project of Sheridan’s since back when the project was set up at Warner Bros, the book is an exhaustive historical account of the four-decade struggle between the Comanche tribe and white settlers to control the American West. Quanah was considered its greatest chief.
Comanches were legendary fighters, with young boys able to ride horses bareback by the time they were 6 years old. They were so masterful with the bow and lance that they stopped the northern drive of colonial Spain from Mexico and halted the French expansion westward from Louisiana.

Celebrated for her talent and versatility, she brought life to a vast array of characters, demonstrating her range from television satire to Shakespearean roles.
Born in Sussex in 1957, Gwynne’s journey into the acting realm wasn’t a straight path. Paramount+’s Pet Sematary: Bloodlines sets up Ludlow, Maine as a town in need of a serious exorcism. A lot of heartache could have been avoided if only its settlers had pulled a Roanoke and left the town to the indigenous population in the area. But they didn’t, and this prequel to Stephen King’s 1983 bestseller fills in details about the town’s history and why reanimating dead loved ones – whether they be covered in fur, feathers, or human skin – is always a bad idea.
Bloodlines reveals that Ludlow has problems that go beyond its misspelled cemetery. The Micmacs knew the woods were evil, the ground was sour, and that death was different there. Centuries later, children built the Pet Sematary on a patch of ground that serves as a gateway between the living and the dead.

Quentin Tarantino once ranked actor Chris Pine as one of his favorite modern actors in the film industry. And although Pine achieved superstardom thanks to Star Trek, Star Trek wasn’t the movie that made him who he was.

Star Trek did a lot to boost Pine’s celebrity status in the film industry. Since doing the JJ Abrams series, he’s starred in several hit projects and solidified himself as an A-lister. Pine also caught the eye of Tarantino, who was more than impressed by his performances and presence.
“Now, to me, of the actors of his age, he’s hands down my favorite — of that group, of that era, of those guys. Hands down, my favorite. When I saw him in the Star Trek movie as Captain Kirk I thought he was making this movie.

Think of a British TV series about the royal family that launched in 2016 and features some of Britain’s best writing and acting talent. No, not “The Crown” but “The Windsors,” the royal comedy show from Channel 4 that is poised to steal “The Crown’s” well, crown. A soap opera-style sitcom, it shows Charles, William, Harry and the rest of the royals as they’ve never been seen before.
Where “The Crown” offers a sober, historical take on the royals, winning both critical plaudits and awards in the process, “The Windsors” is a cheeky younger sibling that has spent its life in the shadows. A spare to the heir, if you will. Created by writers Bert Tyler-Moore and George Jeffrie, “The Windsors” launched seven years ago with comedy king Harry Enfield in the lead as a vain and infantilized Charles while Gwynne (who has also appeared in “The Crown...

Haydn Gwynne, who plays Queen Consort Camilla in The Windsors, has said the royal comedy is planning to shoot a special episode in time for King Charles’s Coronation later this year.
“They have commissioned another series, which we will be shooting later this year. But also, we’re going to be very soon doing a Coronation special,” Gwynne told the BBC’s Radio 4 Saturday.
Gwynne continued to say that she initially thought the show wouldn’t return after George Jeffrie, who co-wrote the series with Bert Tyler-Moore, died of a heart attack in 2020.
“I thought that would be the end of it, so it’s amazing that Bert has managed to pick up the baton, and we’re doing it again.”

Whether it rises above its abysmal first look, "The Munsters" at least feels born out of sincerity. Director Rob Zombie ("The Devil's Rejects") is quite possibly the biggest "Munsters" fan. Even his song "Dragula" is based on the outlandish family vehicle, so despite the violent idiosyncrasies of his earlier work, Zombie oddly feels like the right person to both pay tribute to the '60s sitcom, while making it feel fresh for another generation.
While the "House of 1000 Corpses" filmmaker is the headliner, "The Munsters" features a pretty awesome cast with Jeff Daniel Phillips, Sheri Moon Zombie, Daniel Roebuck, Jorge Garcia, RIchard Brake, and Cassandra Peterson, most of whom are Zombie alumni in some way or another. Of everyone involved, however, Phillips has one of the most difficult shoes to fill.

Rob Zombie's "The Munsters" hits home video and streaming today, and it's a loving ode to the widely beloved original 1960s series. Gone are the buckets of blood that accompany some of the director's other work, but his usual flair and attention to detail remain. It's a prequel to the campy classic we know and love, set before the titular Munsters were a happy monstrous family. Starring Zombie staples Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as The Count/Grandpa Munster, it's a loving and colorful engagement with the classic franchise.
For fans of "The Munsters," there's a lot of fun to be had here, while Rob Zombie fans will find both differences from his extensive film canon with some stylistic commonalities that make it feel like a proper Zombie affair. I spoke with actor Daniel Roebuck about the film, the original series,...

"The Munsters" is one of those old-school '60s sitcoms that couch potatoes of a certain age watched and rewatched throughout their formative years. We absorbed these shows' quirks and themes and catchphrases so completely that the merest of references can trigger a flood of childhood memories. They weren't the acme of broadcast art, but they filled our afternoons with machine-manufactured laughs, and we loved them for it.
So when a studio goes chasing nostalgia bucks by transferring a popular TV show to the big screen, they're best off playing it safe and emulating the vibe of the original. Barry Sonnenfeld's "The Addams Family" movies did this to perfection, and were handsomely rewarded at the box office. On the other hand, Blumhouse's "Fantasy Island" transformed the celebrities-of-the-week formula that made the ABC series a cheesy guilty pleasure into a charmless horror flick, and audiences loathed it.
