Co-founded talent agency Music Corporation of America in the 1920s, which eventually became entertainment conglomerate MCA.
Graduated in 1921 from Rush Medical School of the University of Chicago.
Worked as both an opthalmologist and an agent, until 1924 when he became a full-time agent.
