James Rich (III) was born in Alabama, grew up in Hartford, CT, and currently lives in New York City. He received a BFA degree in musical theater from Syracuse University and made his professional debut singing back-up for Harry Belafonte. Soon after, he was cast as Benny in the first company of the Broadway musical "Rent" that played outside of New York. James has a unique perspective in the creative arts that makes it easy for him to move between being out front and behind the scenes. He was Randall Christiansen's Assistant Designer for the Emmy Award-winning Season 2 of "Dancing with the Stars," and researched and developed "There Was a Boy," a Broadway-style musical about his music idol, Nat King Cole. James is an avid photographer, and he loves dogs.
