In May 2022, when Katherine Haywood began making calls for a Channel 4 documentary she’d been brought on to direct and produce, it wasn’t long before she was “hearing stories of inappropriate behavior.”
Production on the “forensic” documentary Spacey Unmasked, diving into the allegations of sexual misconduct that have toppled Kevin Spacey’s career, started before his U.K. trial had been announced that same May — it even put a “brake” on things, Haywood reveals, as Channel 4 had to wait until after a verdict was reached. He was later acquitted of nine charges brought against him in London in July 2023, but Haywood and her team had found others, uninvolved in the trial, who wanted to tell their stories, too.

Paul Schrader has often landed himself in controversies with his anti-political correctness takes. There have been instances when Schrader was asked to back down from social media during his film’s release. He continues his usual controversial takes by announcing a Frank Sinatra biopic starring Kevin Spacey. Schrader had defended the actor back in 2018 at the peak of the #MeToo movement. He wants to cast him now since Spacey was cleared of the charges against him.
The Card Counter director Paul Schrader wants to cast Kevin Spacey in his Frank Sinatra biopic
Schrader’s intention to fight against Cancel Culture could cost him his movie as no studio may be willing to work on a controversial project. Even if it gets taken up by a studio, Schrader’s film still has to compete with Martin Scorsese’s biopic of the late singer and actor.

Paul Schrader has spoken with Kevin Spacey about the actor starring in a Frank Sinatra biopic, despite multiple allegations still flanking the actor. Spacey is facing a civil trial in the U.K. in 2025 over allegations for which he was acquitted there in a criminal court last year. A new U.K. docuseries airing on Channel 4 also features claims of sexual offenses by the actor from 10 men.
Writer/director Schrader told Variety that he has been in contact with Spacey about him portraying an elderly Sinatra for a film.
“Cancel culture won’t let him go,” Schrader said of Spacey, citing that the actor was acquitted of sexually assaulting four men in 2023. “He’s reading a book on how Charlie Chaplin was canceled.”
Schrader added of the potential biopic, “I would not use Kevin if he had been convicted. But he was not convicted.”

All right folks, we know that the film is about cars and F1 cars more specifically. However, the budget seems to be a bit high for Hollywood people. With Brad Pitt starring in a Joseph Kosinski film (the director of Top Gun: Maverick), fans are curious.
With their curiosity, fans are also doubting the film’s success. Debating whether the film will be a flop or the ace of cards, fans can’t really figure out which. The one thing that they can figure out is that a budget of $300 million for a Hollywood film is too much!
Brad Pitt in Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood (2019)
Brad Pitt’s F1 Films Budget Can Buy 20 F1 Cars!
Before all the math folks freak out, we arrived at the calculation by considering the average cost of an F1 car to be $15 million. The math checks out. But enough about math, let...

Paul Schrader absentmindedly builds installation art out of seven prescription bottles, two inhalers and an empty martini glass, as we sit in a restaurant for seniors in a Manhattan high-rise. Outside, lights twinkle on the Hudson. In 1975, Schrader went to bed with a pistol under his pillow while writing “Taxi Driver.” “Having the option to end things is the only way I could sleep,” Schrader says.
The specter of death is less dramatic but still remains a central focus for the 77-year-old Schrader. Not coincidentally, it’s the subject of his new film, “Oh, Canada,” starring Richard Gere, Jacob Elordi and Uma Thurman. Schrader’s breathing is now shallow and raspy. The voice he once used to argue with Marty Scorsese, direct Willem Dafoe and seduce Nastassja Kinski is now a broken-glass growl. He raises it the best he can to get another drink.

A Channel 4 documentary unveiling the testimonies of 10 men who allege they were sexually assaulted by Kevin Spacey will air in the U.S. on Monday, May 13.
Spacey Unmasked, featuring a group of men detailing their first-hand accounts of alleged abuse at the hands of Spacey over the course of five decades, will premiere on Investigation Discovery and also be available to stream on Max.
The documentary aired in the U.K. on May 6 and 7, promising a “forensic look” at Spacey’s rise to fame and the allegations that have dethroned him.
None of the men in the program were involved in the London trial that saw the actor acquitted of nine charges in July 2023, and all but one have never spoken out before. Kevin Spacey’s lawyers were in court in London Tuesday, May 7, cleaning up a mistake that would’ve left the actor facing a default judgment declaring him liable in a civil sexual assault suit, Variety reports.
Spacey’s attorneys successfully overturned the default judgment, setting the stage for a trial that will likely take place in 2025 (an exact date hasn’t been announced yet). The civil suit was filed by a man, who claims he “suffered psychiatric damage and other financial loss” after Spacey sexually assaulted him in Aug. 2008.

Kevin Spacey is due to stand trial in the U.K. again, likely in 2025, over a lawsuit by a man, who alleges that the actor sexually assaulted him, Reuters reported.
The alleged sexual assault took place in August 2008, with the trial on Tuesday expected to start in early 2025, Reuters reported. The actor has denied the allegations.
The claimant has been granted anonymity by the court, but Reuters said he is one of four complainants who separately sued Spacey in criminal cases, the trial of which ended with the actor’s acquittal last summer.
Earlier this year, a judge granted the unnamed claimant in the civil case “judgment in default,” meaning a ruling in his favor without a trial, after Spacey’s legal team missed a deadline to formally submit a defense. A judge on Tuesday overturned that decision; Spacey didn’t attend the court date. “The defendant’s solicitors have made an error,...

Kevin Spacey will be returning to a UK court early next year to stand trial, with the news coming a day after a Channel 4-Max documentary aired new allegations about the two-time Oscar winner.
Spacey will face a civil trial in the UK after being sued by a man who alleges he sexually assaulted him, according to Variety.

Spacey’s legal team was in court today responding to a judgement in favor of Spacey’s accuser after it failed to file his defense in time. Spacey was not present. According to Reuters, Adam Speker, a lawyer representing Spacey, said it was a “genuine error” by the actor’s legal team from the prominent British law firm Carter-Ruck.

Kennedy Jr. has done everything he can do steal the spotlight, holding event after event with celebrity supporters. Now he can add another to the roster: actor Kevin Spacey.
Spacey, who faced more than a dozen accusations of sexual misconduct or assault since the #MeToo movement gripped the culture in 2017, appeared to indicate in a tweet on Monday that Kennedy had been there for him at his lowest.

David Fincher’s star-studded crime thriller Se7en is one of the best in the genre. The film featuring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman in the lead, starred Kevin Spacey as a serial killer executing murders across the city based on the seven deadly sins. However, when the film was released, Spacey decided to be absent from the marketing campaign and the opening credits due to a genius reason.

Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt headlined Se7en as an almost-retired detective and his young partner investigating the brutal murders by the serial killer. The film can be easily credited as a horror piece due to the horrific murders that are shown. But what made it more popular for the fans was the shock to find out who the killer was. Spacey planned to make it play out that way.

He is one of multiple men who speak in the doc, which airs on Channel 4 and Max in the U.S. next week, about Spacey’s inappropriate behavior. The American Beauty star denies all allegations and says he wasn’t given enough time to respond to the accusations made in the Channel 4 doc, which is titled Spacey Unmasked.
Canon told the I that the alleged incident occurred at The Savoy hotel after press night for the play Sweet Bird of Youth.
He was given a gift by Spacey and then said Spacey “pulled me in very close with his right hand and sort of turned me 45 degrees.”

Less than 10 months after Kevin Spacey was found not guilty of sexual assault allegations brought by four men in a U.K. court, a new documentary series is due to air featuring previously unheard of testimonies about the actor’s alleged sexually inappropriate behavior.
The two-part “Spacey Unmasked,” which airs in the U.K. on May 6 and 7 on Channel 4 and will stream on Max in the U.S. having been acquired by ID, features interviews with 10 individuals — none of whom were connected to the trial — all describing their experiences with Spacey. The testimonies span five decades and involve alleged incidents that took place in Los Angeles, New York and London, in cinemas, at parties and on the set of “House of Cards.” Nine of those speaking in the docuseries haven’t shared their stories before.

“I felt like I was staring at a soulless monster,” Daniel, an actor, says of his alleged sexual assault by Kevin Spacey in a new Channel 4 documentary promising a “forensic look” at the Oscar winner’s rise to stardom and his alleged sexual misconduct.
Spacey Unmasked features 10 men, Daniel among them, to tell their stories of alleged abuse at the hands of Spacey. None of them were involved in the London trial that saw the actor acquitted of nine charges in July 2023, and all but one have never spoken out before. The charges stemmed from alleged acts that occurred from 2001 to 2013; Spacey was artistic director of London’s Old Vic Theatre from 2004 until 2015.

Kevin Spacey has hit back at an upcoming docuseries investigating the sexual assault allegations against him, claiming producers of not providing him adequate time to respond to the accusations.

Kevin Spacey is pushing back against the Channel 4 documentary Spacey Unmasked, billed as a “forensic look” at his career and the allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct against him, ahead of a U.K. premiere on May 6-7.
“I will not sit back and be attacked by a dying network’s one-sided ‘documentary’ about me in their desperate attempt for ratings,” Spacey said in a long thread on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday. The Channel 4 doc comes in the wake of Spacey being acquitted in July 2023 of nine charges in a U.K. criminal case, and will air on Max and Investigation Discovery, though no U.S. premiere dates have been announced.
In his social media post, Spacey rejected the British broadcaster as the right forum for addressing his controversial past: “There’s a proper channel to handle allegations against me and it’s not Channel 4. Each time I have...

Actor Kevin Spacey had been at the peak of his career when he was accused of s*xual assault and was put on trial. Many reports of assault and misconduct came out as part of the Weinstein Effect, which led him to lose out on most of his acting commitments at the time. The actor was also dropped from his long-running Netflix show House of Cards.
Spacey was reportedly cleared of his charges in 2023 and was ready to get back to work again. The two-time Oscar winner won his first Academy Award for his performance as Verbal Kint in Bryan Singer’s cult classic The Usual Suspects. The character was reportedly written with Spacey in mind as he was not too famous at the time, which would have given the twist away.

It took Gary Oldman some time to win his first Oscar, which he claimed for “Darkest Hour” in 2018, and it is taking him even longer to win his first Emmy. The legendary British actor was first nominated 23 years ago for his guest role on “Friends.”He should be reaping a second Emmy bid for his leading role in the Apple TV+ drama “Slow Horses.” The acclaimed series, based on Mick Herron‘s book, follows a group of British intelligence agents who are confined to a dumping ground of a department due to their past mistakes.

Kirsten Dunst had no desire to be America’s sweetheart or the female lead of “American Beauty.”
The “Bring It On” alum told Variety that she was approached to play the high school cheerleader who becomes the object of a suburban dad’s (Kevin Spacey) fantasies in Sam Mendes’ 1999 film. Now, 25 years later, Dunst is revealing why she didn’t even want to audition for the role.
“I don’t know if I necessarily turned it down,” Dunst said of the role, citing that it wasn’t outright offered. “I think I just turned down the meeting or something. But yeah, I just didn’t feel comfortable with the sexuality.”
Mena Suvari was instead cast in the role and the film went on to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Suvari said some of the movie’s sexuality opposite Spacey — or at least the preparation for those scenes — was “weird and unusual.

Not that long ago, a dark thriller featuring Kevin Spacey as a smooth-talking stranger who arrives in a small town with an apparent vendetta against one of its inhabitants might have been a major movie event. Scottish actor Peter Mullan, whose credits include The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Westworld, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, passed through Series Mania in Lille this week, where he participated in what turned out to be one of the festival’s most raucous masterclass sessions.
Mullan appeared alongside French journalist Charlotte Blum, who chaired the session and quizzed the Scotsman on his decades-long career and his philosophy of acting.
“The thing with acting like any form of play is that it’s fun when you are playing,” Mullan said. “A footballer can relive the moment of scoring the goal, but it’s not as much fun as scoring the goal. And it’s the same with acting. You can relive it if you want. You can sit and watch yourself all day long if you want.”

Seven years after his career imploded amid dozens of sexual misconduct accusations, Kevin Spacey’s ongoing efforts to resurrect his career have taken him to Italy. The two-time Oscar winner will star as The Devil in The Contract, one of three projects that will soon involve Italian filmmaker Massimiliano Caroletti and his wife, the former porn star Eva Henger.
Cinecittà News, the official news outlet of Rome’s famed Cinecittà Studios, revealed on Tuesday that the project, which recently wrapped shooting in Rome, is being directed by Massimo Paolucci (All in One Day) and will be produced by Tm Entertainment and Sandro Lazzerini. The thriller is based on an idea by Caroletti and scripted by Henger.

Kevin Spacey may have been found not guilty in his sex offenses trial last year, but he still might as well be The Devil as far as a lot of people are concerned – so it’s fitting that he does indeed play a version of The Devil in his latest project, the psychological thriller The Contract, which just wrapped production in Italy. Spacey’s character in the film directed by Massimo Paolucci is called The Devil, and the filmmakers told Variety that his role is along the lines of “Al Pacino’s in The Devil’s Advocate as Satan who takes the guise of a human lawyer, and that of Robert De Niro in Angel Heart, a Satanic businessman who hires a seedy gumshoe detective to descend into Hell.”
Details on the plot of the English-language film have not been revealed. Spacey is joined in the cast by Eric Roberts and Vincent Spano.

Kevin Spacey will appear as a character named “The Devil” in Italian director Massimo Paolucci’s psychological thriller “The Contract,” which just wrapped principal photography in Rome.
The English-language film, described in a statement as having a similar storyline as Alan Parker’s “Angel Heart” and Taylor Hackford’s “The Devil’s Advocate,” also stars Eric Roberts and Vincent Spano, Italian production company Tm Entertainment said.
Spacey arrived in Rome last December to shoot “The Contract.”
Reps for Spacey, Roberts and Spano did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The “House of Cards” star’s career imploded amid allegations of sexual misconduct in 2017, but he has since been found not liable in an October 2022 lawsuit brought by “Star Trek: Discovery” actor Anthony Rapp and was declared not guilty in a U.K. sexual assault trial in July 2023. He will soon be back on U.S. movie screens with indie thriller “Peter Five Eight,...
