Singer-Songwriter in Los Angeles band, Gertie Fox and
drummer/contributor in rock band wheelie. Born in "The Christmas City"
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on July 3rd, 1980. Parents were a late 60s
rock musician/recording artist Father, Stephen J. Molchany and quarter
midget car racing and Miss Pennslyvania runner up Mother, Barbara
Greenfield. Both were involved in local theater throughout the 70s.
Uncle Gregory Molchany did time as an actor in LA but won't admit to
what he did or under what name(i'm thinking soaps or ex-lax
commercials..). Played in a rock/punk band(nepenthe, wheelie) since 13
and still going/writing/playing. Has been recording music since age 5.
Played drums and piano sparsely since age 2. "Fiddled" with violin in
4th and 5th grade in the All City Orchestra as well as elementary
school orchestra until the stress of hiding not being able to read
music became too much. Sang in 3 different choruses over the span of
elementary school. Studied drums with berklee grad, John SanFilipo and
Ed Shaugnessy(tonight show band) understudy, Wayne Ackey. Played in a
Top 40 band, The Starlites from 1998 until 3 days before movng to LA in
2001. Was 14 years younger than the youngest member of the band. Played
over 250 shows at 50 different resorts and casinos in the mid-atlantic,
not to mention weddings, bridal shows, private parties.. Graduated
Liberty High School in 1998. Went to slightly more than one semester of
NCCC for music theory, composition, and business but never ended up
getting a single credit from any of said classes. Played varsity Ice
Hockey until dropping out three assists and two weeks into 2nd semester
and started Silent Sound Studios in Allenown, PA. Recorded demos for
local bands and composers. Wrote original backround music for
subliminal tapes for pshychiatrists. Taught drum lessons 3 days a week.
Moved to Los Angeles to sign to indie label Skunk Ape Records after
rock band Wheelie became a buzzing underground success in the lehigh
valley early 2001.
