Lifestyle is back with another murderous plot, this time with a film titled Murder Runs in the Family. As the title suggests, the murder mystery film ropes in various members of a family that had nothing going right for it. The Williams family is not your typical suburban family. With lots of secrets hidden at its core, its real trouble begins when Wren Williams arrives home to find her adoptive mother dead in the bathtub. With an interesting beginning, the film promises to be an engaging watch, but soon, with its dull performances, poor dialogue, and generic set design, the film becomes another run-of-the-mill mystery thriller. If you are addicted to big reveals, where the explanations are given as to why you saw characters run around in circles for 90 minutes, then you should stick with this one; otherwise, you should not.

Life doesn’t always stay the same. The silly days of childhood aren’t just going to come back, especially in adulthood, when everyone is busy in their own lives, getting stressed over earning money or maintaining a family. Jennifer Cram’s recent directorial Sick Girl is all about rescuing that precious friendship, but in a very troubling way. Sick Girl is a comedy-drama that fails to provide laughs or make any sense at all. 2023’s Bottoms, despite being a high school teen drama, spoke a lot about female friendship, presenting it hilariously, while Sick Girl doesn’t take the opportunity to make the audience connect with the characters with its tedious and predictable storytelling.

Let’s just be honest: being scared isn’t fun. At least, not for everyone. So entering Halloween — aka “spooky season” — can be pretty hard, especially when it comes to finding movies to watch. Well, it’s a good thing you’re here.
Because the thing is, Halloween movies are a core piece of celebrating the holiday. You get together with friends, you break into the candy early, turn off all the lights and get cozy for the night. But if you’re a big ol’ scaredy cat (like this writer is more than secure enough to admit she is), those nights are significantly harder.
So, we went ahead and rounded up 13 of the best Halloween movies that you’ll be guaranteed to still get a good, nightmare-free sleep after.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter John Legend has opened up about his family with wife Chrissy Teigen, and how their four kids make their days brighter. “They bring a lot of joy to the house and a lot of positive energy,” Legend says of Luna Simone, 7, Miles Theodore, 5, Esti Maxine, 10 months, and Wren Alexander, 4 months, reports ‘People’ magazine.

The couple later suffered a pregnancy loss with son Jack, their third child, in September 2020.
As per ‘People’, the family then welcomed daughter Esti earlier this year on January 13.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have managed to have an unbreakable bond for more than 15 years. The two met back in 2006, when Teigen starred as Legend's love interest in the music video for his single "Stereo." Following the steamy music video, Teigen and Legend began dating and eventually got engaged in December 2011. The couple tied the knot two years later in September 2013 and have since expanded their family, which consists of their kids Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren.
Throughout even their most difficult moments, including the pair's pregnancy loss in 2020, Teigen and Legend have approached all the ups and downs with a sense of vulnerability and authenticity, a trait that makes them loved by so many. Legend shared what makes their longtime relationship work in a video on X, saying, "We support each other in everything that we do and I love seeing her succeed at the things she...

If you are going to do a so-called “hilarious” comedy dealing with cancer you better know how to do it. Unfortunately, writer/director Jennifer Cram, for her first feature film in those jobs, does not knock it out of the park.
Sick Girl which stars Nina Dobrev as Wren, a bit of a mess of a 30ish woman whose spur-of-the-moment little white lie about having cancer spirals out of control, would need a satirist along the lines of an Adam McKay to actually pull off this misbegotten comedy which is simply more cringe-inducing than funny, and Cram, whose previous work has been in Casting just can’t find the right tone to make it work. The premise may have sounded good on paper but it quickly turns into a one-joke idea stretched way beyond its worth. Lionsgate is opening this Friday day and date in theatres and VOD, the latter...

There’s a pervasive sense of optimism in the air in Hollywood that has nothing to do with the onset of fall weather. The Writers Guild of America is no longer striking, and today the heads of major studios like Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery are sitting down with the Screen Actors Guild to see if the new contract with the WGA can’t provide a blueprint toward a deal with it as well.
By this time next week, a deal could well be in place that allows SAG and its affiliated members to get back to work. Until then, however, users can enjoy a fantastic new selection of shows and movies that are coming to streaming this week!

In Surviving Summer season 1, Summer embarked on a journey of self-discovery, learning to forge new connections, the art of adapting to others and embracing her own authenticity. At its core, the story revolves around Summer Torres, a spirited rebel with a penchant for chaos driven by the belief that no one truly cares for her. Her journey Down Under, which she initially perceived as a punishment, evolved into a test for growth and maturity. Through a series of remarkable encounters and challenges, Summer underwent a metamorphosis.
The once-reckless teenager blossomed into a responsible and considerate individual, exemplifying unwavering loyalty to her newfound friends. Her evolution was not without its hiccups, and she remained imperfect—a testament to the authenticity of her character. She also embarked on a journey of reconciliation with her mother, bridging emotional gaps and fostering a deeper understanding between them. Additionally, she showed her friends support during their own trials and tribulations,...

The Australian show Surviving Summer is a wildcard entry for teen shows on Ott platforms. Not only has it got a fabulous cast that people can fall in love with, as is common with this kind of thing, but it also boasts some fantastic shots of the sea and the sport of surfing. It’s not like Surviving Summer brings anything new to the table in terms of teen drama and rebellious “not like other girls” characters, but it’s the surfing that really ties this show together to make it smooth sailing.
Season 1 was cute; we got introduced to some obnoxious teens who were trying really hard to play grown-ups. Summer, our titular protagonist, was dealing with her mommy issues and ended up making a mess of things when she couldn’t handle the love from her new friends and distanced herself from them. By the end of it,...

“I wanted to tell stories about people who I wanted to watch on screen,” says Susan Seidelman, the director behind a number of landmark ‘80s films that range from the fearless punk drama “Smithereens” to the Madonna-led classic “Desperately Seeking Susan.” It was never much of a mystery as to who those people were: Over the course of a career that would continue to shape American culture for the rest of the 20th century and beyond (later credits include the pilot for “Sex and the City”), Seidelman has consistently focused her sharp lens on the changing place of women in American society, and the work she made in the 1980s helped fundamentally reshape our national self-image in ways that are still being felt today.

Baby Esti is growing up so fast. On Aug. 13, John Legend shared a video of his 7-month-old daughter saying her first word on Instagram, and he got so excited, he ended up making her cry. "Dada!" he captioned the sweet video. "Then I got too excited and scared her."
In the video, Esti sat with her mom, Chrissy Teigen, her little brother Wren, and another person, as she babbled happily. Off camera, Legend asked her, "What's my name?" The little one smiled in response as Teigen prompted, "What's daddy's name? Dada?" Esti was quick to let the room know she heard a word she could say, as she repeated, "Dada," much to her dad's delight.
"We got it on tape, baby!" Legend exclaimed. "Caught on tape!" Hilariously, his excitement was too much for Esti to take. She quickly...

This article contains Fear the Walking Dead spoilers through season 8 episode 1.
The eighth and final season of Fear The Walking Dead is now underway, and from the shocking deaths of major characters to nuclear attacks on Texas by a cult, it’s sure been a wild ride. Nowhere is that more true than with Alicia Clark (Alycia Debnam-Carey), who’s been here since the pilot and has the scars to show it.
Kicking off the final season with an episode title like “Remember What They Took From You” seems to be setting us up for major catharsis by the end of things. For a character like Alicia, who has lost so much but has kept a sense of optimism, the role she plays (if she plays a role at all) may be a key to unlocking the themes of the final season. But first, we’re going to have to figure out where she is.
