Derek DeWitt
- Director
- Producer

Raised in Sonoma County, California, Derek DeWitt moved to San Francisco in the late 1980s, where he started a short-lived guerrilla theater company. In 1993 he moved to the Czech Republic, then to Cologne, Germany in 1998, then to Lisbon, Portugal in 1999. He returned to San Francisco in 2000, started a walking tour company, Harlequinn Tours, One of the tourists on a tour was moving to San Francisco and they started dating and, in 2005, they got married. Selling all their possessions, they set out on a trip around the world, ending up in Prague, Czech Republic in January 2006, intending to stay for six months to earn money for more travel. They are still there, and have recently become permanent residents.
Derek has had experience doing voiceover work, acting on stage and also directing for the theater. He did some work with Prague Shakespeare Company and started the Alabaster Cat theater company with his wife, also in Prague. But that was a headache, so they stopped that.
He had been earning money as an EFL teacher for many years and a business communications content writer, and was the writer and host of the Digital Signage Done Right podcast for Visix, a software company based in Atlanta, Georgia. While doing research for a novel that looks at conspiracy theories, the Covid-19 lockdown happened. He took some of what he had learned and created the Conspiracy Clearinghouse podcast in April 2020, and later the Prague Times podcast (looking at his adopted city from many angles) in July that same year.
