A judge decided on Monday that footage from a documentary about the making of the movie Rust, the beleaguered production where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot dead in 2021, will not be allowed as evidence in the prosecution of Alec Baldwin, according to Variety. Baldwin, whom prosecutors claim fired the fatal bullet, will be standing trial in Santa Fe, New Mexico for involuntary manslaughter next month. He faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted.

Anyone But You is getting a lot of attention from fans and especially industry specialists who are now just finding out that rom-coms can still make money at the box office. While the raunchy romantic comedy by the director Will Gluck (Friends with Benefits) isn’t exactly a masterpiece or an instant classic, it gives the viewers some much-deserved escape and a fun story, that they don’t have to wear 3D glasses for.
Starring Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria) and Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick), Anyone But You revolves around Ben and Bea, who meet each other by chance and have an amazing first date unfortunately that doesn’t last long, and both of them part ways but the kicker comes when after some time both of them unexpectedly find themselves at a destination wedding in Australia, and because of unexpected circumstances they decide to pretend to be a couple.

Alec Baldwin heads to court this summer after Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer set a date for the 30 Rock actor’s involuntary manslaughter case focusing on the fatal shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. If he’s found guilty, Baldwin could face 18 months to three years in prison with $5000 in fines for his part in Hutchins’ death.
“Jury selection is scheduled for July 9, 2024,” wrote Judge Sommer in an order made public Monday morning. With Baldwin present in the Santa Fe courtroom, the trial is expected to run from “July 10 to July 19, 2024.”
Baldwin shot Hutchins on October 21, 2021, on Rust’s Bonanza Creek Ranch set just outside Santa Fe after a gun he was holding during a rehearsal discharged a live round. Baldwin says he never pulled the trigger. A jury will investigate his claim in a court of law and decide his fate. Rust director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident.

Seven veterans who have transitioned into various careers and pursuits that inspire others were honored in “Variety Salute to Service” presented by the History Channel. Marine Corp and Navy veteran Montel Williams hosted this year’s special, which premiered Saturday on the History Channel and was produced by A+E Factual Studios.
Williams explained that the veterans highlighted are those who, “continued to answer the call of duty long after their act of service was done.” He first introduced Jeremy Locke, Sgt. 1st Class, U.S. Army (Ret.). Locke cofounded Aerial Recovery, an international disaster response group focused on rescuing people from natural and manmade disasters. Aerial Recovery has rescued more than 8,000 civilians since its inception.
“Our mission statement is to save lives and stop evil. We find veterans that need healing, and then we retrain, repurpose them and we redeploy them out in natural, manmade disasters and to combat human trafficking,...

In a season that has already proven itself to be the highest point of Superman & Lois, with emotions running wild as the Kent family struggles with Lois’ cancer diagnosis and in their conflict with the villainous Mannheims, humanizing even the most irredeemable ones, the CW’s Superman & Lois aims even higher for the final two episodes. After building up the threat posed by Lex Luthor throughout the season, the penultimate episode finally brings the devil into the flesh, and things are about to get more intense. In the previous episode, a tragic conclusion to the Manheim arc was drawn as Peia succumbed to her terminal illness and overexposure to Bruno’s experimentative drugs, and Bruno was deservingly put behind bars.

We saw it coming and accordingly predicted the ugly situation that was eventually going to arise if John Henry came to know that his daughter Natalie’s boyfriend, Mateo, is the son of none other than Bruno Manheim, and this episode did a tremendously good job with the revelation. In the previous episode of Superman & Lois, Lois and Clark learned about Peia’s identity being the wife of Bruno Manheim, something that caught Lois off guard – as she struggles with the realization that her dear friend in suffering is related to the crime lord whom she had been chasing all along. A flashback sequence also informs viewers how Bruno and Peia wrested the power from their former boss Moxie, by killing him and all his associates. In the eighth episode of the series, the Kent couple digs up even more disturbing secrets about Bruno and Peia, and by the end,...
