Homay King is Professor of History of Art at Bryn Mawr College. She is the author of two books: Lost in Translation: Orientalism, Cinema, and the Enigmatic Signifier (Duke University Press, 2010) and Virtual Memory: Time-based Art and the Dream of Digitality (Duke University Press, 2015). She has published work on film, contemporary art, and theory in Afterall, Camera Obscura, Film Criticism, Film Quarterly, the Journal of Cinema and Media Studies, and elsewhere. She has contributed to museum catalogues including the Andy Warhol Film Catalogue Raisonné (Whitney Museum of American Art, 2021) and China: Through the Looking Glass (Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2015). She co-authored the short film Portal with Rodney Evans in 2022.
