Born and raised, but not conceived in New York City, David J. Green is a writer-director who loves making audiences laugh. Green's offbeat, raunchy rom-com short Gen. Sex (11 mins) stars Jared Gilman (lead of Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom) and Tennessee Luke (Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie). After its festival run, Green plans to adapt the film into a feature. In 2023, Green was selected to be an enterprise observer for Troma Entertainment, learning from cult film legends Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz. Green also worked as a production assistant on the horror-comedy short Thin Skinned starring Richard Kind. Green's own quirky horror-comedy short Where Did The Day Go? (12 mins), which he wrote, directed, and starred in, won the award for Best Horror-Comedy at the 2023 Houston Comedy Film Festival. In 2021, Green's political rom-com, Elephants & Donkeys (7 mins), which he also wrote, directed, and starred in, took home the prize for Best Romantic-Comedy at the Houston Comedy Film Festival. In 2019, Green interned for the debut season of Comedy Central's Awkwafina is Nora From Queens. Regardless of the genre, Green's work always has the dynamic visuals of an Edgar Wright flick, the rowdy humor of a Seth Rogen comedy, and the emotional sincerity of a John Hughes movie. He is a provocateur with a big heart. B.F.A. Film - The School of Visual Arts.
