Oscar night parties began with viewing soirees at hotspots all over Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, then picked up speed as the show ended with Bong Joon Ho’s “Parasite” historic win. Once the Dolby Theatre emptied out, Hollywood’s hottest started the bouncing, going from party to party well into the wee hours. Here are a few of the stops the stars hit along the way.
Every winner’s first after-party was the Governor’s Ball, where they had to stand in line at the engraving stand behind Bong Joon Ho, whose golden boys filled up the table. Renée Zellweger (pictured) wasn’t complaining, not were Taika Waititi or Joaquin Phoenix, who had a bonding moment while they waited. Everyone who had been to last year’s ball and remembered Sequoia Productions’ producer Cheryl Cecchetto’s “Filmscapes” theme that presciently featured images from world cinema wondered the same thing:...

Like many in Hollywood, Derek Fisher is thinking of the late Kobe Bryant this Oscars Sunday.
”It’s been special,” Fisher told Variety of the tributes to Bryant — at the Oscars and elsewhere — at Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios Oscar Gala at the Beverly Wilshire. “When you grow up with your brother, you may not always see the way other people see him cause that’s your brother.”
Fisher and Bryant were teammates from 1996-2004, 2007-2012 and won all five of their NBA championships together.
“And it’s been really moving to see the way other people view impact that he was having on the world. It’s given me an even greater appreciation – and I already had it for what he represented, but it’s been unbelievably touching.”

In a video interview uploaded to YouTube in February, Joe Budden, a former major-label rapper who is enjoying a popular second career as a podcast star, tried to recruit 2 Chainz to lead a strike in hip-hop.
“You don’t think we need a union?” Budden asked. “You should be our Derek Fisher” — the head of the NBA players union during the league’s 2011 lockout. “They gonna pay me to be the head of that?” 2 Chainz wondered.
Budden shook his head as if mildly disappointed. “Chainz ain’t fuckin’ with stoppage of work.

Another season, another “Dancing with the Stars” prediction from Jimmy Kimmel. On Monday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, the host continued his tradition of picking the winner sight unseen (his show taped before “Dancing” premiered), and this one may just wind up shuffling away with the Mirrorball trophy.
Kimmel picked Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman, who wowed the crowd with his energetic cha-cha to close Monday’s season premiere. He and Sharna Burgess earned a 24, tying Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson for the highest score of the night, and moved safely into the second week. Norman also interrupted the stranglehold figure skaters had on the top three, with Mirai Nagasu and Alan Bersten, and Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber each getting a 23.

Seven sports are represented by the 10 athletes on “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” including some of the show’s staples. But which sport’s athletes have done the best on the show? You can probably guess. Let’s look at these seven sports’ “Dancing” histories.
Football (Josh Norman)
As everyone knows, football is by far “Dancing”’s favorite sport. They don’t even try to hide it. Nineteen football players have hoofed it before this season, and while they haven’t all made it to the business end of their respective seasons, football has produced four winners, three runner-ups and two third-place finishers. So, no pressure, Josh, to follow in these pigskin players’ footsteps.
