Lauren J. Salkin (born 1980) began her career in photojournalism at Newsweek in 2000, then went on to work for Associated Press, Sipa Press, Zuma Press and National Geographic.
She was sponsored by National Geographic & Olympus Cameras to teach photography to Afghan Women at Aina Independent Media & Culture Center in Kabul in 2006.
In 2013, she transitioned into television and media production, working for Dick Clark Productions, handling International Distribution, Sales and Development.
Her current TV project "Black Falls" which is in development, is based on her true story about a contemporary Native American Reservation in Southern California which stemmed from an assignment for National Geographic.
She's an avid equestrian and also enjoys flying airplanes, she completed the pinch hitter course at Simcom Training Center in Florida. Lauren supports the LA LGBT Center, Desert Aids Project and Loving All Animals with charitable donations every year. She's also an advocate for transgender healthcare.
