As a serial entrepreneur, and a Technology innovator, Dr Ali Baghdadi has built companies operating in Europe, the USA, the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, established and acquired over 20 different companies in the fields of IT, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Telecommunications, HiTech Services, storage media manufacturing, solar technology and aviation technology.
Today he is also a board member in companies he founded or co-founded in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East. In addition, he is now acting as Senior Vice President & Chief Executive Officer of the Middle East, Africa and Turkey Region for Ingram Micro, a Fortune 100 company. Ali is a recognized public speaker on Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence. While, as a Computer Scientist, he has deep knowledge of the technology, he has the talent for simplifying the way these technologies are explained in a simple and easy-to-grasp manner.
As well as his IT background, he is an advocate of renewable energy and encourages entrepreneurship and start-ups. In 2011 he launched the 'Green IT' initiative and sponsored a visit to Antarctica. He established FutureTech, a Solar energy design company. His interest in aviation made him a founding member of the Air Taxi Association of Europe and a member of the ATXA Technical Committee. He is also an Advisor to Space Program projects at Imperial College London.
His interests also extended to education and filmmaking, where he was a co-founder of IIS Ltd in the UK, producing more than 10 interactive films for business education. Eventually, the company was sold to Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber's RUG Group. More recently, he has been a co-producer of several feature films, one of which has been selected to feature at the Cannes Film Festival 2018 (Yomeddine). Most recently, as an Executive producer of the 'Inventor' animation feature film about Leonardo Davinci, which is still in production.
In 2021 , Imperial College London gave him the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year award. His relationship with Imperial College London extends to being an Advisor to the student - led Karman Space Program, a Sponsor to the Data Science Society, and a Juror of MBA projects in the Business School.
