Mumbai, May 27 (Ians) The Japanese girl group Xg, released the third episode from their documentary recently.
The episode focuses on the Korean training camp which took place in 2018, and shows Juria talking about her voracious “fighting spirit”, showing her strong desire to become a star and work towards achieving her goal.
Xg’s producer, Simon, expressed his thoughts towards Xg’s Chisa, Juria and Maya, in an interview in the episode. When asked how he feels about their collaboration, he said: “I am overwhelmed with emotion… I want you, the members, to remember not only the journey and those memories but also your initial aspirations, so that you will never forget.”
Through the training camp in Korea, 15 trainees were reduced to 11, and the countdown to the selection of the debut members began.

Review: Paul Schrader’s career has always been one of extreme highs and lows. Look near the top of Wes Anderson’s latest rolling cast and you’ll find Rupert Friend, who made a brief appearance in The French Dispatch, and a rare Wes first-timer, Maya Hawke. In Anderson’s characteristically decorative 1950s-set film, Hawke and Friend share a budding romance as, respectively, an elementary school teacher and a singing cowboy. After one conceit is revealed, they also appear as actors in a troupe reminiscent of The Group Theatre. They share the screen with everyone from Tom Hanks and Willem Defoe to Adrien Brody and Scarlett Johansson. Stars in a Wes Anderson these days are like dots to a Lichtenstein; but in Asteroid City, Hawke and Friend still manage to shine.

A person sits at a desk, in a room so stark and tidy it might belong to a monk or a model prisoner, writing in a notebook. His inner monologue plays as a voiceover, drier than sandpaper; in this case, it’s a horticulture lecture about French and British gardens. If you were not aware that you were watching the opening shots of a Paul Schrader film, you’d think you were witnessing a parody of one. For 50-plus years, the legendary screenwriter and director has turned a stable of...

As Sanctuary, Zachary Wigon’s twisted tale of a dominatrix and her wealthy client, opens in NY and LA, David Lancaster of producer Rumble Films recalls a speedy 18-day shoot on a custom-made set in Brownsville, Brooklyn in late summer of 2021. After a slight lapse with 2021’s subpar The Card Counter, writer/director Paul Schrader returns to solid, provocative form in this captivating character study of an emotionally detached horticulturalist with a dark past who is forced to reconnect with traits he once embraced, and now hates, to save someone he loves. On paper, Master Gardener’s plot can easily be streamlined into a sentence long synopsis but Schrader’s film, like it’s protagonist, is enriched with depth and complexity.

Marvel Studios has just announced the release dates for two highly anticipated Disney+ series, and it looks like one of them is set to break the precedent for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to a tweet shared by Marvel Studios this afternoon, the "Hawkeye" spin-off series "Echo" is set to debut on November 29, 2023 – in its entirety. This marks a departure from the release model the MCU has been using for its Disney+ series since the streamer's inception, as past shows like "Loki," "WandaVision" and "Ms. Marvel" have all used the classic weekly release method.
Fans of Alaqua Cox's badass antihero Echo (aka Maya Lopez) will get to binge-watch the character's next chapter right in time for the holiday season, while "Loki"-lovers will see Tom Hiddleston's trickster god return on October 6, 2023. Marvel is launching a new binging strategy on Disney+.
Kevin Feige just revealed that all episodes of Hawkeye spin-off Echo will drop at once on November 29.
This is a new move for the company, which has previously aired episodes week to week.
“In Hawkeye, fans were first introduced to Maya Lopez, a character played by Alaqua Cox. She will return to get her revenge in Echo, a limited drama from an incredible team of indigenous writers, directors and cast members. And in a first for us all episodes will drop on November 29,” he said at Disney’s Upfronts.
The series centers around Maya Lopez, a deaf Native American superhero who has a talent to imitate any opponent’s fighting style. Alaqua Cox is playing Maya and was introduced during Hawkeye’s six episode run. Maya, in the comics, has also run in the circles of Daredevil, Moon Knight and the Avengers.

Taylor Swift's fans know that her song "Ronan" is one of the most heartbreaking in her discography. The song first appeared on her 2012 album "Red" and she recorded a new version in 2021 for "Red (Taylor's Version)." The emotional track is about a real boy, Ronan Thompson, who died in 2011 just days before his fourth birthday. Many fans are speculating that Swift will add the song to her Eras Tour set list on May 12, since that date would have been Ronan's 16th birthday, and his mom, Maya, will be in attendance at the show.
If you're not as familiar with "Ronan" and the true story that inspired the song, here's what to know about one of Swift's most emotional tracks.
Who Is "Ronan" by Taylor Swift About?
Back in 2011, Maya kept a blog throughout Ronan's cancer treatment, sharing her, Ronan, and her family's struggles and how she was processing the situation.

Exclusive: The writers are organized. There have been thousands of writers picketing outside of the traditional Hollywood studios from Disney, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Sony and Warner Bros. as well as the tech upstarts Netflix and Amazon.
But Deadline understands a more low-key operation is in place to target specific locations across LA that are being used for filming in order to shut them down and wreak havoc on the studios’ bottom line.
We hear the team has managed to stop production on series such as Disney+’s Marvel drama Wonder Man and Apple’s Maya Rudolph-fronted dramedy Loot.
How did they do it? Ostensibly, with two people each holding picket signs. Under labor laws, that’s all that’s required for an official picket line, which in turn means that the other unions, from IATSE to the Teamsters can refuse cross the picket line.

Both Sides of the Blade (Claire Denis)
In Both Sides of the Blade a romance breaks down and threatens to break up in a stylish apartment overlooking the sweet Parisian skyline. The director is of course Claire Denis, a filmmaker whose last work began in a place that looked like Eden and ended in a spaceship plummeting toward no less than a black hole. A baroque melodrama that might just maybe be a trolling farce, Both Sides of the Blade‘s concerns are of a more earthbound variety–though if the insistent strings of Tindersticks’ score are something to go by, they are of no less importance. – Rory O. (full review)

In what feels like a familiar theme for the season, we're once again in a situation where we must ask: how far will this unit go to save one of their own?
To take it further, what happens when that person they have to save is someone they've spent the better part of the season positively loathing? Because what's abundantly clear from the end of Station 19 Season 6 Episode 16 is that Beckett needs real saving, support, and solidarity.
The hour also had Ross dealing with the fallout from her relationship with Sullivan, Theo eying the captaincy permanently, an emotional call, and Ben's conflicted feelings about the sober house fire.
And, contrary to my very human blunder earlier in the season, this was the special hour with Station 19's own Danielle Savre stepping behind the camera, making her directorial debut.
Naturally, she did a commendable job, and it was quite an...

If gardening is the art of manipulating crops, those with roots and blossoms that require scrupulous nurturing, then horticulturist Narvel Roth is the best and worst guy for the job in writer-director Paul Schrader’s silently haunting minimalist epic, “Master Gardener.”
Played by a brooding and elegantly sturdy Joel Edgerton, Narvel Roth seems suited for the job on the one hand, as he is the meticulous kind. With a strikingly angular face, slim-fit overalls, not a hair out of place in his neatly parted cut and a name as peculiarly formal as its owner, you could almost sniff Narvel’s thoroughness in every plant and flora he tends to.
Then again, perhaps he is not all that suited for the post, either. A shady past as a former neo-Nazi and tough-guy-for-hire haunts Narvel, despite his current honorable occupation at the stately mansion, Gracewood Gardens. How could he be expected to...

The sensation of a nation crumbling from within — not in slo-mo deterioration, but amid the chaos of widespread violence and political upheaval — is unimaginable to most people. Yet it’s something many will live to experience. Offering a primer of sorts in that grim prospect is “5 Seasons of Revolution.” Made by the pseudonymous Lina, this very first-person documentary doesn’t offer a lot of explanatory background or big-picture commentary on Syria’s still-ongoing civil war. But in charting the filmmaker’s attempts at reportage alongside the fates of her imperiled group of friends between 2011-15, it provides one vivid perspective on a whole country in freefall.

“Harana” is as Filipino as a Filipino movie could be. The short film, which has already bagged numerous awards including that of best actress for its lead star Maqui Farr Jose at the Micheaux Film Festival, will also show its story of diaspora and dreams at this year's Busan International Short Film Festival.
“Harana” is screening at Busan International Short Film Festival
“Harana,” which means serenade, treads on the familiar, albeit evergreen story of Filipinos going abroad in order to build better lives for their families back home. The migrant worker this time around comes in the form of Maya (played by Farr-Jose), a vocalist at a cover band playing at a casino-hotel lounge in Las Vegas. Maya's story is reminiscent of that of Filipino musicians in Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and anywhere else, musicians with voices that can thrill the nights and shake the world, but maybe more importantly for them,...

Frank Agrama, founder and chairman of Harmony Gold, died on Tuesday. He was 93.
Agrama’s career as an entertainment pioneer saw him founding several production companies including the Film Association of Rome and then Harmony Gold, which launched television series such as “Shaka Zulu” and “Robotech.”
He was born on Jan. 1, 1930, and became a child actor in Egypt with his own TV series. While his father was the Surgeon General of Egypt, Agrama initially followed in his father’s footsteps by acquiring a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Cairo. By the time he was 23 years old, Agrama was a medical doctor.
Agrama left his medical career to pursue his passion for entertainment production, obtaining a Bachelor of Theater Arts from UCLA. He then moved back to the Middle East in 1964 where he would go on to help establish Lebanon’s movie industry.

Whew, that installment had it all!
They checked off all the emotions with Station 19 Season 6 Episode 15 with things coming home to roost with the Sullivan and Natasha, those harrowing moments of worrying over Ben, and the smoking hot and emotional Marina scenes.
It was easily one of the best installments of the season thus far.
We knew that Ross and Sullivan's relationship would come out in some capacity at some point. However, it still didn't make the beginnings of this fallout any easier.
The whole scenario doesn't bode well for Ross, and while she's had some bumpy moments since she arrived, she's part of Station 19 now.
She's this integral part of the series and brings so much to the table that it would be difficult to see her face any hardships or issues with this situation.
Like Andy was getting at, we need her here. Ross and everything she represents,...

By the time the title card drops in “A Tourist’s Guide To Love” (ten minutes in — the Netflix rom-com equivalent of the 40-minute wait in “Drive My Car”), we know exactly what we’re in for: The heartbroken heroine at the film’s center is going to experience a life-altering perspective shift via romance when embarking on a work trip. Acting as a travelogue for Vietnam with an adorable romantic comedy happening in the foreground, this sweetly spirited story isn’t terribly dissimilar from the streamer’s other offerings like “Love in the Villa” or “Resort to Love,” sating any viewers suffering from stunted wanderlust. Funny, poignant and simultaneously progressive and regressive, it may not add up to five-star escapism, but it’s a jovial jaunt worth taking.

Editor’s note: This review was originally published at the 2022 Venice Film Festival. Magnolia Pictures releases the film in theaters on Friday, May 19.
Paul Schrader proudly has little concern with how likable he, or his work, is. For his fans, this is part of the joy, finding delight in his prickly Facebook posts and reveling in the black, gnarled heart beating at the center of much of his oeuvre. After the recent existential nightmare of “First Reformed” and last year’s stunningly cruel psychodrama “The Card Counter,” which also premiered on the Lido, Schrader returned to Venice to receive an Honorary Golden Lion award and regale the audience with another gritty tale of redemption. He spoke about “Master Gardener” with his signature nihilist wink and told IndieWire, “This one is going to piss people off. Obama’s not putting it on his top 10 list.”
