Dr. Nyla Hazratjee, is an American-Muslim filmmaker. Previously, a nationally syndicated producer, host and model in Pakistan, currently a physician, socialite and philanthropist in Florida, she has cultivated a repertoire of experiences to draw from. She is the founder of Urban Olive Entertainment, an independent woman-centric creative agency specializing in the production and promotion of local, regional, and national MENA, Muslim, and South Asian voices and stories.
Her first project as a Producer, The Persian Version, with director, Maryam Keshavarz, won both the audience award and best script in domestic feature film category at Sundance 2023, was bought by Sony Picture Classics for Domestic theatrical release in fall 2023.
As a first generation Pakistani American, her work focuses on navigating personal desires within societal limitations.
She is also a board certified internist and gastroenterologist licensed in multiple states.
Projects in production include -First Gen: A thirty minute dramedy that follows the multifaceted personalities of 3 first generation Muslim American professionals, and how they navigate this in-between cultural world.
