The next collaboration between Jason Statham and David Ayer (with a Sylvester Stallone script) – Levon’s Trade – is now shooting, with further casting announced.
Earlier this year we were treated to a rip-roaringly good time when director David Ayer and star Jason Statham brought us The Beekeeper. You can catch our review for that film here, but in short, it was lots of fun and following a theatrical run where it grossed north of $150m, it likely made a profit for all involved.
As such, the production companies behind The Beekeeper have once again acquired the services of Ayer and Statham and are hoping to repeat the trick once again, this time with Levon’s Trade.
As with The Beekeeper, Amazon MGM has agreed to handle distribution in the US, and none other than Sylvester Stallone has adapted the screenplay from Chuck Dixon’s novel.

Deadline reports that principal photography has kicked off on Levon’s Trade, an action thriller starring Jason Statham. The project has also added a few new members to the cast, with David Harbour (Stranger Things), Michael Peña (Narcos: Mexico), Jason Flemyng (Boiling Point) and Arianna Rivas (The Harvest) signing on to appear in Levon’s Trade.
David Ayer is directing Levon’s Trade from a screenplay by none other than Sylvester Stallone, with revisions by Ayer. The project is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Chuck Dixon. The book is the first installment of the Levon Cade series, which consists of eleven novels. With so much material, this could easily be another franchise starter for Statham.

Twice a month Joe Lipsett will dissect a new Amityville Horror film to explore how the “franchise” has evolved in increasingly ludicrous directions. This is “The Amityville IP.”
With Amityville Uprising, Thomas J. Churchill joins illustrious company as the only director of three Amityville films.
After kicking off his run with Amityville Harvest (2020) which focused on a film crew interviewing a vampire, Churchill’s second entry was 2001’s “werewolf in a women’s half-way house” title Amityville Moon. Now he’s back for his third film in the “series,” a self-referential zombie outing.
What makes the new film intriguing is less the details of the plot – which include a chemical explosion at a military base with unleashes red acid rain on Amityville and reanimates the dead – but how the film acts as the last part of an unofficial Amityville trilogy.
The same issues that plagued Churchill’s previous entries pop up here: too many characters,...

Werewolf bikers, one might think they would be fairly common in movies, but apart from Hellhounds I can only think of a couple. There’s 1971’s Werewolves on Wheels, which has more to do with Satanists than lycanthropes and more recently High Moon, where a gang of old west werewolves find themselves in the present and saddle up on more modern iron horses. There’s also Bikers vs Werewolves being promised for later this year, but that’s it.
Hellhounds gets off to a start, or should I say starts, that are all over the place. We’re introduced to three separate sets of characters with no clue as to what the connection is. A woman chased down and abducted somewhere in the desert. A member of the Hellhounds biker gang tracked down by a bounty hunter,...

On a recent episode of "Hot Ones," actor Mark Rufflao was invited on to discuss his career while chocking down incredibly spicy hot wings. Sean Evans, the show's host, read a film synopsis to Ruffalo and asked if he could identify the title. Evans read a synopsis for a 1994 film called "Mirror Mirror II: Raven Dance," a straight-to-video horror film put out by the beloved B-movie studio Image Entertainment. Ruffalo, of course, could indeed identify the movie. "That's 'Mirror Mirror,'" he said. "That was probably my first movie." Indeed it was.
Ruffalo pointed out that there was "Mirror, Mirror" and then there was "Mirror Mirror II: Raven Dance," which had a "Penthouse pornstar" as the lead actress and Billy Drago as the male lead. He noted that he played "the series actor sidekick." He joked that he had established a brand with the "Mirror Mirror" movies, sarcastically imitating...

Twice a month Joe Lipsett will dissect a new Amityville Horror film to explore how the “franchise” has evolved in increasingly ludicrous directions. This is “The Amityville IP.”
Two entries ago, we discussed Thomas J. Churchill’s vampire-themed, title card only “franchise” entry, The Amityville Harvest. I knew that the writer/director had a sequel film, so going into The Amityville Moon was an interesting exercise.
As it turns out, sequel is a generous term for Churchill’s second Amityville film. It shares the same visual aesthetic as Harvest, an actor (Michael Cervantes), and may even be shot in the same location. Aside from that, however, the characters are all new and, in place of a vampire, The Amityville Moon features a werewolf as its central protagonist.
One thing that hasn’t changed: this is another in a long line of Amityville films that uses the famous title as an IP cash grab.

Last year, director Rebekah McKendry impressed our reviewer Tyler Nichols with the horror film Glorious, which took place in a rest stop bathroom. (You can read Tyler’s 8/10 review at This Link.) Now McKendry has made another “supernatural happenings in a confined location” horror film called Elevator Game, and it’s going to be released through the Shudder streaming service very soon… just not as soon as we had previously heard. Elevator Game was once set to start streaming on August 11th, but its release date has since shifted back to September 15th. And with that date just over a month away, a trailer has arrived online. You can check it out in the embed above.

This article contains spoilers for the ‘Secret Invasion’ series!
The latest series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ‘Secret Invasion,’ concluded this week after six episodes. The episode finished with G’iah becoming one of the most powerful MCU characters thanks to the Harvest and Gravik’s machine that transformed into a Super Skrull. She defeated Gravik and freed all his human prisoners, including Colonel James Rhodes.
One of the plot twists the series provided was that James Rhodes had been Skrull all along, but the series didn’t reveal when was the real Rhodes kidnapped by Skrulls and replaced with one of their own. We found out in the series that the Skrulls have been present on Earth since 1995, and that’s a pretty long period when the real Rhodes could’ve been kidnapped.

The conflict between humans and the shapeshifting aliens known as Skrulls, which was taking its initial course under the shadows of bureaucracy, comes out in its messiest form in Secret Invasion season finale as Fury and Sonya Falsworth rush to foil Gravik’s plan to initiate the third World War. In the previous episode, under Gravik’s order, Skrull operative Raava, who was impersonating Col. Rhodes, tried to convince an injured U.S. President Ritson that the attack on his motorcade was a result of an alliance between the Russians and Skrulls and that he should order a strike on Russia even with the possibility of it instigating a World War.
