The phrase “15 minutes of fame” simply doesn’t apply to Spencer and Heidi Pratt, the husband-and-wife reality star duo better known as “Speidi” since they began dating during the second season of the Laguna Beach spinoff The Hills. Since those early 2000s MTV reality docuseries days, the couple, who eloped in Mexico on Nov. 20, 2008, has appeared on various reality TV shows and competitions, from Celebrity Big Brother seasons 11 and 19 to Celebrity Wife Swap, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars 2, and the short-lived spinoff The Hills: New Beginnings. There was an even shorter music career for Heidi who released her debut studio album, Superficial, in 2010.
Never ones to take themselves as seriously as their quest for fame, Heidi and Spencer recently launched a pop culture video podcast with The Ringer Podcast Network, a Spotify Studio. Appropriately titled Speidi’s 16th Minute, the podcast delves into celebrity gossip, the behind-the-scenes realities of creating...

Jay Leno talked to Today about the accident that led to him suffering severe burns last month, as he told co-host Hoda Kotb that his face “caught on fire.”
Leno spent nine days in the hospital, including extensive time in a hyperbaric chamber, as doctors worked to treat the burns and conduct skin grafts.
In the interview, Leno, a classic car enthusiast, said that on Nov. 12 he had been working on a 1907 white steam car with a clogged fuel line. He was working with a friend, Dave Killackey.
“I was underneath it, trying to unclog it, and so I said, blow some air through the line,” Leno said. Then, he said, there was a “poof,” and “then suddenly I got a face full of gas and then the pilot light jumped and my face caught on fire.”

Jay Leno knows the Nov. 12 garage fire that left him with second-degree burns and required skin grafts could have been a lot worse, as he explained in an interview published Tuesday in which he talked about the accident for the first time. “I could have lost an eye,” he said.
The former “Tonight Show” host was at home in Burbank working on his one of his many cars, a 1907 White Steam Car park that had a clogged fuel line. “With a steam car, you have gasoline, but you also have a vaporizer which is heated by a pilot light to turn water into steam,” Leno told People about the antique car.
In his attempt to unclog the fuel line, “I got a face full of gasoline,” he explained. “I knew how close I was to the pilot light and I thought ‘Uh oh.'” A spark reacted with the gas and ignited.

Jay Leno has been discharged from the Grossman Burn Center 10 days after suffering “serious” facial burns from a car fire.

The 72-year-old former late-night host underwent surgery for serious burns when flames erupted as he worked on a vintage car in his LA garage.
Leno suffered burns to his face, hands and chest that his plastic surgeon, Dr Grossman, categorised as second-degree or verging on more severe, during a news conference on Wednesday (16 November).
Some of the facial wounds “are a little bit deeper and a little more concerning” because they showed signs of progressing to third-degree, as can happen with burns, Dr Grossman explained at the time.
On Monday (21 November), Leno was finally discharged from the burn centre.

The burns Jay Leno suffered in a car fire Saturday are more serious than was originally reported, his doctor told reporters Wednesday.
“Mr. Leno underwent what’s called a surgical excision and grafting procedure to his face, his chest and his hands,” Dr. Peter Grossman told ABC7 News. Leno sustained “deep second degree and third degree burns” when a vintage 1907 steam engine car he was working on in his Burbank garage caught fire.
Leno will need further surgery to remove damaged tissue and replace it with a biological skin substitute, Grossman said. He is also spending time in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, which helps keep the burns from worsening and improves the outcome, according to Grossman.
Leno was transferred to the Grossman Burn Center in West Hills, Calif. after the accident. In a statement Monday, the former “The Tonight Show” host said, “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire.

Updated, 11:50 Am: Jay Leno is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery from burns he suffered in a gasoline fire earlier this week, Dr. Peter Grossman of the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles, said at a news conference Wednesday.
The comedian suffered burns to his hands, face and chest in a fire that erupted Monday while he worked on a car in his Burbank garage where he stores his vintage cars. Grossman said Leno was underneath a car when the fire began, and he suffered “pretty significant burns to his face and hands.”
“I do anticipate him making a full recovery,” said Grossman, adding that Leno suffered serious injuries, “but his condition is good.”
“He’s Jay Leno,” Grossman added. “He’s walking around and he’s cracking jokes.”

Exclusive: Netflix has acquired the David F. Walker action comic The Hated for a potential live action western series. The prime mover here is Michael Starrbury, the Emmy-nominated writer who teamed with Ava DuVernay on When They See Us and Colin in Black & White, the Netflix series on Colin Kaepernick. Starrbury will be EP along with Prime Universe Films’ Adrian Askariah, Walker and Sean Owolo.
It’ll be a female-driven post-Civil War revisionist history western, based on the exploits of Araminta Free, a gun-slinging bounty hunter in a world where the Civil War ended differently – instead of a victory for the North, there is a truce, and what had been one country is now two. Araminta specializes in crossing the border into the Confederacy tracking down vicious war criminals, which has made her a woman with a price on her head. Solid Comix publishes it.
