Editor’s Note: The following story contains details of sexual abuse of a minor that may be disturbing to some readers.
Steve “Dobby” Dawson, the founding bassist of the influential UK metal band Saxon, has been sentenced to six years in prison for child sex offenses that took place in the 1990s.
BBC News reports that the 72-year-old Dawson was found guilty of four counts of indecent assault of a child under 14. Even more disturbing, Dawson was accused of repeatedly abusing a 6-year-old girl.
Detective Constable Robert Heath, who was in charge of the case, stated, “It is clear that his evil acts have remained with her throughout her life, and I hope this sentence goes some way to allowing her to move on from these traumatic events,” adding that the victim displayed “extraordinary strength” in coming forward with the allegations.

More details have emerged about tonight's Comic Relief James Bond sketch starring Daniel Craig, with Sir Roger Moore also lined up to feature.
007 will be joined by Skyfall co-stars Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, Naomie Harris, director Sam Mendes and Bond producer Michael G. Wilson for the one-off piece.
The short mockumentary, written by David Walliams and the Dawson brothers, will see Craig and his colleagues revealing "the biggest Bond sketch yet".
Former James Bond Sir Roger Moore is also set to appear, saying: "I think viewers will most enjoy seeing that old Bonds never die."
Sam Mendes said: "I decided to take part in this sketch because the work Comic Relief undertakes, especially in West Africa, for people whose suffering is beyond our comprehension is truly exceptional. Any help I can offer, even in the smallest of ways, is a privilege."
Ben Whishaw added: "When I first saw the script,...

This isn't even a representation of what I listened to the most. Top 10 and Top Albums list at year-end can be a popularity contest. They can be just another way to celebrate singles artists. It could be about enjoying the brand just as much as the album itself. Top 10s can be a metaphor for feelings. Objectively, you can't say there's such thing as a definitive way to go-about making a year-end list. It can waver year to year: last year, I'd say my choices felt like they were all about color and boldness. This year, for me, it felt like it was all about discord. Fka Twigs is not for everybody, but "LP1" simply was one of the most put-together, challenging sets that moved me this year. I can't listen to the damned thing just any time. That wasn't how I marked it. Young Fathers basically made an album...

Armstrong and Miller comic lambasts 'inverse snobbery' while Ricky Gervais teaches guitar – and who's the hottest comedian?
This week's comedy news
We begin with the Telegraph's tale of Alexander Armstrong and the apparent victimisation of "posh" comics. "Why should your background be held against you?," asks the descendant of William the Conqueror, alumnus of a Durham public school and director of a production company called Toff Media. "It is so short-sighted … This tribal aversion to anyone with a posh voice is very boring." Armstrong – best known as one half of the sketch double-act Armstrong and Miller – even lodges the improbable complaint that his privileged upbringing has been detrimental to his career in British entertainment. In the piece, he blames inverse snobbery for the BBC initially spurning Armstrong and Miller after their big break on the Edinburgh fringe in the mid-1990s. And, he adds, "I'm not anticipating an offer to...

A new augmented reality shopping platform for Xbox Kinect will allow users to try on clothes in true 3-D, share photos with friends, and store wish-listed items on smartphones for shopping on-the-go.
Virtual reality shopping just got a lot more real--and could soon become a lot more mainstream. "KinectShop" (working title), an augmented reality shopping platform for the Xbox Kinect, exploits the system's new finger-recognition technology to allow shoppers to grab items from an unlimited shelf of clothes, see how accessories look at multiple angles, and share the photos with friends on Twitter and Facebook for a quick thumbs-up or down.
"The customer can visually see what an object looks like on them without even entering a retail store," Steve Dawson, Technology Director for the Emerging Experiences group at Razorfish tells Fast Company. Unlike existing virtual shopping that shoehorns 2-D photos on top of body snapshots, "with Kinect, you can...
