Chance is coming back to The Young and the Restless. In another one of the (usual) soap opera recastings, Conner Floyd will be stepping into the role of Phillip Chancellor IV, a.k.a. “Chance,” beginning with an episode set to air later this month. Chance is the (at one point) presumed dead husband of Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), son of legacy character Nina (Tricia Cast), and grandson of legacy character Jill (Jess Walton). Check out a photo of Floyd on the Young and the Restless set in California above. Floyd’s credits include roles in television movies, including Malicious Motives, A Kiss on Candy Cane Lane, and the upcoming Help Wanted. Chance was last seen on screens on The Young and the Restless when he was played by Donny Boaz (for 108 episodes). His last episode aired on February 1, 2021. “I was told that Chance is Not being replaced or killed off.

Who says faith-based movies can't be fun?
Probably a lot of people, including those who refused to make it, even after scriptwriter, Jim Carroll, won more than 60 awards for his script at various film festivals in 2020 with a film called Assassin 33A.D. That doesn't mean they're right.
Even with all of the accolades, Carroll couldn't sell the film, so he decided to make some changes. I haven't seen Assassin 33 A.D., but from what I understand, Black Easter is a more pithy version that has been edited to appeal to a broader audience.
That makes some sense since this is a Christian, faith-based film. The premise is that a Muslim billionaire named Ahmed hires a group of geniuses to create a time machine so that he can go back into time and kill Jesus for perpetrating one of the biggest scams of all time.

What would Silence of the Lambs be without Hannibal Lecter? The coldblooded cannibal genius played by Anthony Hopkins is one of the most iconic villains in film history — but, due to nagging rights issues, his name can’t even be uttered in CBS’ new drama Clarice, which follows FBI agent Clarice Starling a year after the events of Lambs.
The absence of Lecter and his indelible dynamic with Clarice leaves a huge void that Clarice (premiering Thursday, Feb. 11 at 10/9c; I’ve seen the first three episodes) struggles to fill. The result is a disappointingly run-of-the-mill procedural — another dark, grim...

Genoa City is losing one of its most popular faces.
Donny Boaz announced on Sunday that he is out of The Young and the Restless, and his final episode is set to air today, February 1.
"Sad news: Tomorrow, Monday, 02/01/21, as of now... will be my last air date on “The Young and The Restless.” Here’s what I know... I was told that Chance is Not being replaced or killed off," the actor shared on Instagram, adding:
"He’s just not gonna be there anymore."
Okay then. It's not uncommon for cast changes on daytime soap operas. They're pretty much a revolving door, but given that the news came out a day before Donny's final episode, it's unfortunate.
"Overall, I am grateful and thankful for this amazing opportunity. I know that I’m walking away from this better at my craft than before I started," he shared, adding:

“The Bold and the Beautiful” star Courtney Hope will reprise her character, Sally Spectra, on the network’s sister program “The Young and the Restless,” CBS announced Wednesday.
According to CBS, “Sally will arrive in Genoa City looking to make a fresh start, while doing her best to keep her colorful past a secret. She comes to town with an agenda and some surprising connections to key players, including Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman).”
Hope announced her exit from “The Bold and the Beautiful” back in August, with CBS confirming plans for her to switch series, but there was no indication at the time of which character Hope would portray. At the time, she referred to her “B&b” exit as “an abrupt ending to a monumental journey.”

Written and directed by Jim Carroll, Assassin 33 A.D. takes the basic tenets of the faith film genre (i.e. Christian values) and shoves them into a schlocky, overly violent time travel plot. The result is deeply misguided and comfortably one of the worst films ever made.
After a prologue in which security guard Brandt (Donny Boaz) loses his faith after the death of his wife and daughters in a car crash, the plot centres on a group of science geniuses – including straight-laced team leader Ram Goldstein (Morgan Roberts) and his devoutly Christian colleague-slash-girlfriend Amy (Ilsa Devine) – who accidentally invent time travel while trying to create a matter transporter.
Their joy in their discovery is short-lived, however, because their wealthy boss Ahmed (Gerardo Davila) is secretly a Muslim terrorist...

CBS has renewed its long-running top daytime drama The Young and the Restless for four more years, taking it through 2024.
The massive, straight-forward renewal of The Young and the Restless, from Sony Pictures Television, stands in contrast with the dramatic, down-to-the-wire one-season renewal for the Sony TV-distributed daytime drama Days Of Our Lives at NBC which was finally completed and announced yesterday after months of negotiations.
With the renewal, The Young and the Restless joins its companion in the CBS daytime lineup, the CBS TV Studios-backed soap The Bold and the Beautiful, which is a year into a three-year pickup through the 2022.
“Having the #1 show for any length of time in any daypart is a tremendous accomplishment,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “But The Young and the Restless has been daytime’s top drama for over three decades. The last time any other show was on top, Ronald Reagan...

John Ross Ewing (Josh Henderson) maintains he's not following in the footsteps of his late dad, J.R., but evidence suggests otherwise.
He furnished a major new piece in "Like Father, Like Son," Monday's (March 31) tellingly titled episode of TNT's "Dallas." The hour opened with him confronting Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) about her collusion with Bobby (Patrick Duffy) to deny him the permit to drill on Southfork Ranch.
He claimed he wasn't emotionally involved with Emma (Emma Bell) and only using her to get the ships the company needs. but Sue Ellen countered about his wife (Julie Gonzalo): "You think it's going to hurt any less when Pamela finds out?" Accused by his mother of being "drunk with power," he retorted, "I may be ... but you? You're just drunk."

The honeymoon has ended for John Ross, in more ways than one.
"D.T.R.," Monday's (March 24) episode of TNT's "Dallas," opened with the newlywed Ewing (Josh Henderson) landing back home with wife Pamela (Julie Gionzalo). They immediately turned their thoughts back to business, with her wondering how his deal to acquire desired ships was going. His stalling on the answer led her to suggest she'd ask Emma (Emma Bell), but he coaxed her out of it as they got frisky in the back of their limo.
Upon returning to Southfork, John Ross checked on the temporarily stalled drilling, then threatened foreman Bo (Donny Boaz) with bringing in a replacement crew if the workers couldn't get back to business that night. A concerned Bobby (Patrick Duffy) watched from a distance, John Ross waving mock-cheerfully upon spotting him.

The scheming is reaching a fever pitch at and around Southfork Ranch.
Bountiful proof was supplied by Monday's (March 10) episode of TNT's "Dallas," "Playing Chicken." After their meeting at which Harris Ryland (Mitch Pileggi) was revealed to be working secretly with the CIA, Ann (Brenda Strong) told Bobby (Patrick Duffy) she feared for Emma's (Emma Bell) safety. He promised that the women would "always be safe on Southfork. You can count on that."
Others might not be, though: Greed-accusing graffiti indicated an uprising by workers on the ranch over the planned fracking of the land by John Ross (Josh Henderson), who was drawn into a fight by foreman Bo (Donny Boaz). Bobby broke it up by declaring, "Southfork is a cattle ranch, not an oil field, and I intend to keep it that way. Nobody is losing their jobs."

Before I started Jessie, I was on a more dramatic route. So it was sort of weird for me, doing Wimpy Kid and then Jessie. I had a lot of fun doing A Sister’s Nightmare.

At Texas Frightmare Weekend 2012, I stumbled across a little movie called Jacob (review here), and it completely blew me away. For a completely independent picture made for extremely little money, it packed an emotional punch that few mainstream horror films can pull off.
Truth be told, I've paid to see movies in the theater that display less skill and power than Jacob, and that's a damn shame, but finally someone was wise enough to pick up this gem for distribution, and as of April 16th, Jacob is out on DVD and Blu-ray for your viewing pleasure courtesy of Kino Lorber's Horizon Movies.
Jacob had a return performance at this year's Texas Frightmare Weekend to celebrate its release, and I sat down with main man Larry Carrell to chat about writing, directing, and acting in the film.
Mr. Dark: Give us the background on yourself, and what you've done so far.
