“Days of our Lives” fans will see an unfamiliar face in a familiar role when soap newcomer Natasha Hall temporarily replaces Jessica Serfaty as Sloan Petersen for at least three episodes during the week of March 4-8, 2024.
Hall, best known for playing Yvette over three episodes in “The Kominsky Method” during the third season of the Netflix original series, will appear in scenes alongside several Salemites, including Jamie Martin Mann (Tate), Emily O Brien (Theresa) and Greg Vaughan (Eric), among others.
Soap Opera Digest, which first reported the news, did not provide a reason for the temporary recast. Meanwhile, the current storyline sees Sloan dealing with the guilt of knowing that Jude, the child she and Eric are raising, is actually Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Eric’s biological baby.
“When and if Nicole and Eric learn the truth will be something to tune in for!” teased the show’s executive producer,...

After more than 30 years portraying Sheila Carter on both “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” actress Kimberlin Brown saw her villainess character meet her maker earlier this week when Sheila was stabbed to death by daughter-in-law Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
With the character now “dead,” Brown reveals in an all-new exit interview with TV Insider that she’s open to returning to daytime in another role, whether on her former soaps as a new character or even a new role on “Days of our Lives” or “General Hospital.”
“I would absolutely be open to a daytime return,” declared Brown to “Soap Dish” columnist Stephanie Sloane. “This is my happy place. This is where I have really been thriving the last couple of years. It took me 62 years to find myself and I finally found myself and this is what makes me happy.”

Debuting on the Monday, February 26 episode of “General Hospital,” where she’ll portray the newly created character, Natalia Rogers-Ramirez, actress Eva Larue is no stranger to daytime television, nor is she an unfamiliar face in the halls of the Prospect Studios where the daytime drama tapes in Hollywood.
In a recent interview with former Soap Opera Digest editor-in-chief Stephanie Sloane for TV Insider, Larue talks about her return to daytime after previously portraying Dr. Maria Santos Grey on “All My Children” and Celeste Rosales on “The Young and the Restless,” where she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Performer, getting to see some of her former Pine Valley co-stars, and what it’s like working alongside people she’s known for years but had yet to share scenes with on-screen, until now.

Kassie DePaiva, who is set to reprise her One Life to Live character, Blair Cramer, on General Hospital this month, has been opening up about her battles with cancer. The soap star appeared on Stephanie Sloane and Mara Levinsky’s Dishing the Digest podcast, where she talked about her diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia in 2016, which was followed a year later by a breast cancer diagnosis. “I went to a country jamboree up at Hunter Mountain, and I’m sitting on a chair lift. I feel under my arm, I go, ‘That’s weird.’ I felt two knots. So I thought, ‘Hmmm.’ And they weren’t painful. I know I didn’t feel bad, nothing,” she shared, explaining that she was on a scheduling break from Days of Our Lives at the time. She continued, “I called and set up an appointment with my doctor and said, ‘Okay, coming back in July.

Even with all the upsets at this year's Daytime Emmy Awards, Dan Kroll (Soap Central) got half of the 20 categories he predicted correct. As with all of our experts, Kroll missed out on "Days of Our Lives" winning Best Drama. However, he did predict the winners in five of the six acting races (Younger Actress tripped him up) and was the only expert to foresee that win by "The Dr. Oz Show" in Talk Show (Informative). Of our other experts who predicted 20 races, Paul Sheehan (Gold Derby) got seven right while Roger Newcomb (We Love Soaps) predicted six winners and Tom O'Neil (Gold Derby) foresaw five champs. Richard Simms (Soaps in Depth) nailed four while both Michael Fairman (Michael Fairman Soaps) and Jamey Giddens (Daytime Confidential) got three. Stephanie Sloane (Soap Opera Digest) predicted 10 categories and got half of them right while Nelson Branco (Soap Ope...

I thought American Media already owned the 37-year-old magazine devoted to soap operas. But it turns out that the company has just been operating it for the last year or so under license from Source Interlink Media. Source Interlink bought Soap Opera Digest in 2007 from Primedia, which bought it in 1991 from News Corp, which bought it in 1989 from Network Publishing Corp, which bought it in 1980 from co-founders Angela and Jerome Shapiro. American Media is just getting around to announcing the deal that it says closed on July 20, and took effect on June 1. Stephanie Sloane remains Editor-In-Chief and David Jackson the Group Publisher. “Soap Opera Digest is a very important strategic acquisition for [American Media] as it fits perfectly in the Celebrity & Entertainment Group,” CEO David Pecker says. That group includes the Star, National Enquirer, Ok!, Country Weekly, and Radar Online. The company didn’t disclose financial terms, but says that the weekly...

Reigning three-time champ "The Bold and the Beautiful" was snubbed in the Best Drama Series at this year's Daytime Emmys. Five of our Experts are backing the bid by "General Hospital". It has already racked up a record 10 wins as Best Drama Series -- 1981, 1984, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2008 -- from 22 nominations. It has odds of 8 to 11 to extend its record. The pundits predicting victory for this last remaining ABC daytime drama which first aired in 1963 are: Nelson Branco (Soap Opera Uncensored), Michael Fairman (Michael Fairman Soaps), Roger Newcomb (We Love Soaps), Paul Sheehan (Gold Derby) and Stephanie Sloane (Soap Opera Digest). It has leading odds of 4 to 5. Three of them -- Jamey Giddens (Daytime Confidential), Dan J. Kroll (Soap Central) and Tom O'Neil (Gold Derby) -- foresee victory for sentimental favorite "All My Children." This recently...

It’s Emmy time this Sunday, soap fans! Though the TV Academy also uses the annual ceremony (airing live on CBS at 8 p.m. Et) to honor game and talk shows, the real competition lies in the drama categories. Will James Franco’s much-ballyhooed appearance on General Hospital help the ABC soap take the top prize? Will the soon-to-canceled All My Children earn a sympathy trophy?
