Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features nine matches this week and plenty of Canadian talent. We’ve got regulars Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary as usual. So let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Skye Blue def. Tfa (Taryn from Accounting)
My Thoughts: This was a pretty decent and competitive opener for this week’s show and both women delivered throughout the match. Great to see Tfa get some exposure via Aew too.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Jake Hager def. Adam Knight
My Thoughts: Adam Knight looked like he might give Jake Hager a run for his money, especially given how competitive the previous match was, but no. This was a squash of the highest order with Hager eventually hitting Knight with a Vader Bomb to get the win!
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #3: Emi Sakura def. Zoe Sager...

Back in season 5, The Flash referenced one of the best evil speedsters to debut in the DC universe in recent years. Namely, Red Death, an evil alternate version of Bruce Wayne who possesses Barry Allen’s speed. Usually when the show name-drops a villain we can expect them to appear the following season. As it was, Red Death never appeared in season 6 and we’re not hearing that he’s turning up in season 7. Still, that hasn’t stopped fans from campaigning to get him in the show.
But who could bring the Red Death to the screen? Well, how about CW icon Ian Somerhalder? The Vampire Diaries star would be a great fit for the twisted Bat-speedster and if you don’t believe us, just check out the epic fan art below courtesy of digital artist Skull101ify.
As well as looking the part, Somerhalder would be the perfect...

Smallville adapted an impressive range of DC heroes for TV over its ten-year run, even featuring a number that have yet to make it into the Arrowverse – including Aquaman, Cyborg and Booster Gold. One of those few that got away, though, was Batman. And it’s something that Welling still wishes they’d been able to work out.
The star attended Fan Expo Canada this weekend and was asked by someone during a panel which character he’d most liked to have seen on the long-lasting CW Superman prequel. Welling immediately landed on the idea of a Smallville version of Bruce Wayne, saying:
“I can tell you what I wish we would have seen, was some version of a Bruce Wayne that fit in with what we were doing. I think that would have been cool.”

Navigator in Love Written by Lasha Bugadze Directed by Adam Knight Presented by Red Lab Productions and Otar Margania at Teatro Circulo, NYC July 13-August 6, 2017
Playwright Lasha Bugadze makes the idea of needing some direction in life very literal in Navigator in Love, part of the Georgian-American Theatrical Feast taking place now through early August in Manhattan. The world premiere of Navigator, which won the 2012 Bcc World Drama Award for Best International Play, in a translation by Maya Kiasashvili is one of an array of events that make up the festival, the aim of which is to introduce American audiences to nine playwrights from Georgia, a country of four million that is described in the program as lying "at the crossroads of Europe and Asia." This celebration of Georgia and its venerable cultural history and vibrant contemporary theatrical community includes two full productions, free readings, and special events with wine and music.

Happy birthday, Ian Somerhalder.
Everyone's favorite bad-vampire-turned-good-guy (or so we thought ...) turns 35 on Sunday (Dec. 8), and to celebrate the big day, Zap2it looked back at Somerhalder's career and picked his five best roles so far.
5. Somerhalder got his start on the WB's "Dawson's Creek" spinoff series, "Young Americans." He played Hamilton Fleming, the son of his school's dean and dated a girl who disguised herself to look like a boy in order to get the attention of her absent mother.
4. Taking a crack at movies, Somerhalder starred with James Van Der Beek in the dramedy movie, "The Rules of Attraction." He played Paul Denton, a bisexual who develops an attraction to Van Der Beek's Sean, who eventually rejects him.
3. During Season 3 of "Smallville," Somerhalder played Adam Knight (formerly known as Chad Nash), a resurrected teen with a bleeding eye problem sent by Lionel Luthor to spy on Clark Kent and Lana Lang.
