Anton and New Europe Films sales have co-acquired international rights for the upcoming English-language survival thriller.
Based on a novel by Stewart O’Nan, the film takes place in 1870 in Friendship, Wisconsin, a small town of Scandinavian settlers still suffering the repercussions of the recent Civil War.
When faced with a new and even deadlier threat, one man is forced to make a harrowing choice: save his young family or defend the community that gave him a second chance at life and meaning.

Neon and Topic Studios have picked up domestic rights to the thriller Luce, starring Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer.
The Sundance U.S. Dramatic Competition title, from director Julia Onah (Cloverfield Paradox), follows parents Amy and Peter (Watts and Tim Roth) as they reckon with the image they have of their son Luce (Kelvin Harrison Jr.), adopted from war-torn Eritrea, after a devoted teacher (Spencer) make an alarming discovery in his locker.

A bull versus a bulldog — it’s not exactly a fair fight. But it’s one ESPN viewers were almost treated to on Tuesday night, when Bevo, the University of Texas’ 1,600 pound steer mascot, charged and nearly took out Uga, the University of Georgia’s 60-pound British bulldog mascot.
About an hour before the two teams kicked off their Sugar Bowl matchup, the universities thought it’d be smart for the two beloved animals to have a “pregame meeting.” Instead, Bevo wrestled free of his handlers and holding area and head straight for Uga.
“Oh my lord! Ohhhhh” yelled one ESPN announcer as Uga was yanked away from Bevo’s charge.
