Following Friday’s fifth episode, season 14 queen Maddy Morphosis made her debut on the show and proved why she would be a great future host. In their recap of the episode, both Trixie and Maddy gave Q grace for her emotional reaction to being safe yet again because they see her as someone so very close to a win that they can understand the sting of not getting it. When it comes to Plane Jane‘s villain edit, Trixie can appreciate that Jane shouldn’t “punch down” in her comments on Amanda Tori Meating‘s drag, but at the end of the day it’s making good cat fights that we haven’t seen on the show in a while.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 continued on February 2 with episode 5 on MTV. Airing concurrently with the main show is its tea-spilling, backstage-focused sister series “Untucked,” now in its 15th season. For this week’s challenge, the 12 remaining queens wrote and performed original verses as the newly fashioned girl groups Q.D.S.M, Lovah Girlz, and Thicc & Stick. Geneva Karr, Megami, Nymphia Wind, and Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige were declared the winners for their performance of “A.S.M.R. Lover” and made their way backstage to the “Untucked Lounge” while the other two groups received critiques from the judges.
Gagged that they were able to win the challenge together, the first topic on their minds was how they’d go about dividing $5,000 among the four of them equally. But more importantly, they deserved to pat themselves on the back for proving the rest of the girls wrong because they...

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 continued on February 2 with the fifth episode in RuPaul’s quest to find “America’s next drag superstar.” Previously in episode four, Plasma served up a perfect Barbra Streisand and sang her way to a challenge win in “Rdr Live!,” while Geneva Karr found herself in the bottom for a second straight week. Though not quite a “lip sync assassin” yet, Geneva was able to best Mirage in the Lip Sync for Your Life. Mirage, who had admittedly not known the lyrics to the song, left in tears with her sisters stirring in the emotions of her premature exit.
This week, the remaining 12 queens write and perform their own original verses as part of girl groups to three of RuPaul’s hits. Seated at the judges’ dais for episode 5 titled “Girl Groups” was Emmy winning host RuPaul Charles, longtime bestie Michelle Visage, recurring judge Ts Madison,...

All season long, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” fans will be making their predictions at Gold Derby for who they think will win Season 16, and who will be eliminated next. After the ousters of Hershii LiqCour-Jeté in Episode 3 and Mirage in Episode 4, the third boot is expected to take place in Episode 5, airing Friday, February 2 on MTV. Based on our updated racetrack odds, which are derived from the predictions of “Drag Race” fans like you, Amanda Tori Meating is the queen most in danger of sashaying away in 12th place. Do you agree or disagree with your fellow viewers? There is still time to make your picks before the cut-off time on Friday night at 5:00 p.m. Pt.

Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s fourth episode, Trixie’s friend from Chicago and the quickest makeup artist in series her story Kahmora Hall stopped by to dish the ish. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Kahmora spoke about her experience being the first queen to leave on her season and as a guest on the recap series was able to use that to inform her lens on how the queens are approaching the competition from this early in the season. When it came to this live, one-take challenge both Kahmora and Trixie think that the pressure of only having one take actually is a benefit for the queens because they have no opportunity to get in their head with their inner saboteur.

Airing concurrently with the main show is its tea-spilling, backstage-focused sister series “Untucked,” now in its 15th season. For this week’s challenge, the 13 remaining queens appeared in the sketch comedy spoof “Rdr Live!” where they had to perform live for the judges in one take. “Untucked” takes place after the first group of queens are declared safe and the rest receive critiques from the judges.
As safe queens, both Morphine Love Dion and Dawn were relieved to survive a difficult comedy challenge, but were so happy with their performances that they thought they might have appeared among the top queens. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 continued on January 26 with the fourth episode in RuPaul’s quest to find “America’s next drag superstar.” Following two non-elimination premiere episodes Part 1 and Part 2, the girls walked in the “The Mother of All Balls” in episode 3 where Hershii LiqCour-Jeté served the three looks that wowed her peers and the judges the least. Hershii lost the Lip Sync for Your Life to a surprised-to-be-ranked-at-the-bottom Geneva Karr. The winner of the week was Nymphia Wind who created a look from scratch that was declared as one of the best in series herstory.
This week, Geneva, Nymphia and the remaining 11 queens get in their comedy gigs for a live, one-take acting challenge. Seated at the judges’ dais for episode 4 titled “Rdr Live!” was Emmy winning host RuPaul Charles, longtime bestie Michelle Visage, recurring judge Ross Matthews, and the original “Slayer” Sarah Michelle Gellar as the extra special guest.

In their recap of the episode, Trixie and BeBe informed us how close they were when they appeared on “All Stars” together, bonding over just enjoying that they were there instead of focusing on the competition like everyone else. When it comes to the twists of this season, BeBe said that the rating system “creates a lot of animosity” and she would not want to have to do that because it’s “so traumatizing.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 continued on January 19 with episode 3 on MTV. Airing concurrently with the main show is its tea-spilling, backstage-focused sister series “Untucked,” now in its 15th season. As in the premiere episodes, following their three-loo presentations in the ball challenge, the 14 queens became judges of their sisters through the “Rate-a-Queen” twist that required them to rank their competition from tops to bottoms each week. Based on those rankings, Q, Nymphia Wind, and Sapphira Cristál placed in the top and Geneva Karr, Hershii LiqCour-Jeté, and Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige placed in the bottom.
In episode 3 of “Untucked,” the group of 14 all new queens reflected on the design challenge and runway presentations in “The Mother of All Balls.” Among the safe queens, Amanda Tori Meating was excited to be safe because she was so worried about getting her final look together, but Megami was disappointed in her placement because...

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 continued on January 19 with the third episode in RuPaul’s quest to find “America’s next drag superstar.” In the premiere episodes Part 1 and Part 2, the 14 all new queens were split into two groups of seven to show off their talents and introduce themselves to the judges. Following the “Rate-a-Queen” twist where the queens ranked each other for the week and two lip syncs for the win, Sapphira Cristál and Plane Jane were declared the first two winners of the season and each earned immunity from a future elimination.

Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s second episode, YouTube personality and Trixie’s friend of 17 years Brittany Broski sat down to celebrate their love of drag by critiquing the seven queens that introduced themselves to the world this week. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Trixie and Brittany liked Geneva Karr‘s entrance look, but were confused over whether her name is intended to be a pun or not and appreciated her pride in being a leg hair artist on the internet. When it came to the divisive Plane Jane, they both lived for her first impression look and think that only someone that looks that good could come in guns blazing. The queen they did not live for is Megami.

It took two minutes of screen time for Plane Jane to become the villain of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16. Right away, the shady Boston queen showed her true colors describing herself as an “authentically Russian hooker” and calling (according to the subtitles) a plus-sized queen a “piglet” in her native language.
The shade continued all episode as she consistently made rude comments about her competitiors (both in confessionals and to their faces) and became the only queen to opt to rate the queens from worst to best instead of best...

In addition to having charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent to spare, the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race are also often known for their honesty. And one Season 16 contestant just took the truth to a whole new level.

Spoiler Alert: This contains spoilers from the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 16.
Charlize Theron expressed her strong support for the drag community in her debut as a guest judge on the season premiere of MTV’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
In the opening episode of Season 16, the Oscar-winning actor and longtime LGBTQ told the queens that the groundswell of efforts to curb the rights of drag performers is driven by fear and ignorance.
“Given the climate in our country right now, there’s a lot of energy being put toward your community not existing. I truly believe that all of that is coming from a place of fear,” Theron told the contenders on the long-running competition series. “The beauty of what your community brings and the truth of who you are and represent will come out. Don’t give up.”
Contender Xuname Muse, daughter of Kandy Muse, praised Theron for speaking out.
