As part of its industry program running parallel to the Helsinki Film Festival — Love & Anarchy, which takes place Sept. 14 – 24, the Finnish Film Affair is presenting five local TV series currently in the works that will be pitched to potential co-producers, financiers, broadcasters, streaming platforms, sales agents and other international industry reps.
The five projects will be presented on Sept. 21 during a showcase day of Nordic films and series in development or production. This year marks the first time that TV shows will be pitched alongside feature film projects.

The Finnish Film Affair (Ffa), Helsinki International Film Festival’s industry strand, has unveiled the line-up for its market showcase of Nordic films and Finnish series running September 20-22.
Among the 31 projects selected is Jenni Toivoniemi’s comedy Butterflies, the director’s second feature after Games People Play which was also presented at the Ffa.
Also being showcased is Jon Blåhed’s new feature Raptures; Erol Mintaş’ Earth Song; Ester Martin Bergsmark’s Land Of Ferns; and Marika Harjusaari’s The Mire from the producer of Hatching.

’Lakelands’ won best Irish film; ‘The Sparrow’ picked up best first Irish feature.
Robert Higgins and Patrick McGivney’s Lakelands was among the big winners at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh which closed on Sunday evening (July 10).
Set among a community in the Irish midlands where Gaelic football is revered Lakelands centres on a sportsman struggling with the aftermath of a head injury. It won best Irish film and the Bingham Ray New Talent award. The latter was given jointly to Lakelands’ two lead actors, Éanna Hardwicke and Danielle Galligan.
