Jimmy Rich, who was Robert Downey Jr.’s longtime personal assistant, died in a car crash Wednesday night. He was 52 and his death was announced by Downey on his Instagram page.
Rich had been working with Downey since 2003, joining him on the set of 2003’s The Singing Detective. They would go on to work together 22 more times, including on all of Downey’s Marvel films, according to Rich’s IMDb page.
“This is not news,” Downey wrote on his Instagram page today. “This is a terrible and shocking tragedy. Jimmy Rich was in a fatal car accident at approx. 8pm yesterday. He was a brother, my right hand man, an uncle to our kids and beloved by all who experienced his singular character and wit.. our thoughts go to his relatives, friends, co-workers, and all the fans who knew him as the man who supported every step of my recovery,...

Jimmy Rich, longtime assistant to Robert Downey Jr., died at the age of 52 on Wednesday, after a fatal car crash. Downey Jr. posted the news to his Instagram, noting that “This is not news. This is a terrible and shocking tragedy.”
Rich and Downey Jr. began their friendship long before the MCU came around — Rich is credited as Downey’s assistant on every one of his films dating all the way back to “The Singing Detective” in 2003. That year marked the beginning of Downey’s road to sobriety after his much-publicized battles with drug and alcohol use. In the post, Downey hailed Rich as “the man who supported every step of my recovery, life and career.”

Whatever else he may have been during his lifetime – “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” – Tony Stark was first, last, and always a futurist, and as such, he was never one to let even death get in his way. Whether it turns out that he backed up a copy of his mind onto an external hard drive like he did in the comics or not, it’s safe to say that the effects he had on the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be felt for a very long time, beginning with the emotional recording he left behind for his daughter to view at the end of last year’s Avengers: Endgame.
Now, Robert Downey Jr.’s personal assistant, Jimmy Rich, has shared video of the actor rehearsing lines (while apparently sitting in screenwriter Stephen McFeely’s chair) that seem to come from an alternate version of that recording. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s...

Everything came to a head in Avengers: Endgame when Iron Man and Thanos came face to face on the battlefield during the film’s climax. It was a similar moment to their last confrontation in Avengers: Infinity War, but only this time, Stark had the Infinity Gauntlet and intended on using it to wipe Thanos from existence for good.
The Mad Titan arrogantly told Tony “I am inevitable.” To which Iron Man had the perfect response, saying “I am Iron Man” before snapping his fingers and finally defeating the villain once and for all. But at a great cost, as the force ultimately took his life. What followed was a moment that had almost everyone in the theater crying and now, we have an interesting look at how it really went down behind the scenes.
Over on Instagram, a cool new video has been shared which shows the team filming...

The crown jewel of “Avengers: Endgame” set footage has dropped on social media courtesy of Robert Downey Jr.’s assistant, Jimmy Rich. The brief behind-the-scenes video from the making of the Marvel blockbuster reveals the moment the production captured Tony Stark’s climactic snap on camera. Even the green screen on set can’t distract from the intensity Downey Jr. brings to his McU-defining “I am Iron Man” line. The snap itself lands with an even bigger impact in the set footage since there’s no Infinity Gauntlet CGI getting in the way of the visuals.
“Avengers: Endgame” directors Anthony and Joe Russo revealed in May shortly after the film’s opening that Tony’s “I am Iron Man” line was not originally scripted. The line is a callback to the same declaration Tony made at the end of “Iron Man,” the 2008 origin story that kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We know that an enormous amount of stuff was shot for Avengers: Endgame – together with Avengers: Infinity War, the films clocked up a staggering 900 hours of raw footage. As such, as great as the 3-hour final product is, Marvel fans are fascinated to know what scenes were trimmed to make the already mega runtime as concise as possible.
Thanks to this new behind-the-scenes video, we now know there was an additional line cut from one key sequence in Endgame‘s climax. Jimmy Rich of Pinewood Studios, Atlanta shared two fascinating clips on his Instagram page of filming on the big Avengers-filled climax of the movie.
The first captures Robert Downey Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch running through Iron Man and Doctor Strange’s reunion with the Russos. The second comprises one actual take of the moment and put together, they give us a clearer picture of how it originally played out.

Chris Evans was practically born to play Captain America. As a character, he’s saved the world from secret Hydra agents, alien hoards, and even his closest friends; but as an actor, Evans has spent the better part of eight years perfectly encapsulating the type of war-era comic book hero that should be impossible to modernize. Honestly, I’m not sure which of these feats is more impressive.
Of course, all good things must come to an end, and Steve’s story is no different. Avengers: Endgame saw Cap travel back through time so he could finally catch his dance with Peggy Carter, addressing a desire dangling just out of his reach since the conclusion of The First Avenger. Naturally, time circled back around, and a 90-something-year-old Steve Rogers handed his shield off to Sam Wilson to continue on with his legacy, pretty much guaranteeing that Chris Evans’ time as...

It’s not too much of a stretch to say that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark is the beating heart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And we’re pleased to report that Rdj brings his A-game to Avengers: Endgame, delivering a performance worthy of an McU event movie. In the interest of safeguarding the film’s plot and its many twists and turns, we’ll refrain from revealing too much, too soon; instead, we’ll point you in the direction of Rdj’s latest Instagram post, which features a heartfelt ‘thank you’ message to the Marvel franchise, its fans, and the cast and crew responsible for what is undoubtedly an unprecedented movie saga.
There’s never been an interconnected film series quite like the McU, and Marvel Studios’ achievement is unlikely to be replicated anytime soon. So let’s bask in the aura of Avengers: Endgame, a fitting conclusion...

“It’s totally cool if you take a picture with me. And I don’t want to see this on your MySpace page. Please, no gang signs. Just kidding, you can put it up…”
As any Marvel fan will tell you, that’s a quote from the original Iron Man movie, in which Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is knocked off his perch, imprisoned in the Middle East, and molded into the first true Avenger. Sorry, Cap.
Fast forward to 2018, and Rdj’s whip-smart hero has arguably become the beating heart (arc reactor?) of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one with enough star power to supercharge any film that tumbles off Marvel’s production line – just look at Spider-Man: Homecoming.
This time, though, Iron Man and the Avengers have a date with destiny – Thanos and his Black Order are closing in on planet Earth, and they’re about to instigate a full-blown Infinity War.

Well, here’s a welcome surprise straight out of left field. This past weekend, Tom Holland, Jon Favreau, and Robert Downey Jr. came together for a Marvel shoot – and posted a series of photos online to prove it.
Perhaps as a means of celebrating National Superhero Day, the three Spider-Man: Homecoming actors posed for a “secret shoot,” fuelling rumors that the Powers That Be over at Marvel have ordered some form of standalone promo for Jon Watts’ reboot – similar to those featuring Thor and his exceptionally average roommate, Darryl, perhaps? There’s every chance that Marvel has simply ordered some last-minute reshoots in anticipation of the impending July release date, but when you consider the effortless chemistry between Holland and Robert Downey Jr., it would almost be a shame if the studio didn’t launch some form of short film to bridge the gap between Civil War and Homecoming.
Remember the Marvel One-Shots?...

It's been a while since we got a star sighting on the set of Captain America: Civil War as filming continues in Atlanta, Georgia, but it seems the paparazzi has spotted Robert Downey Jr. while leaving his trailer yesterday. Although he's not in the Iron Man armor, the Avengers star was seen sporting Tony Stark's casuals and goatee, beside longtime driver Jimmy Rich. What do you think? Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures...
